Great Quality Replacement Lever Moved into a mid century condo with the original door knobs throughout. I replaced all of the originals knobs but have a small issue of needing a 5" backset instead of 3". They are a new design so Kwikset has not manufactured the longer back set so I have new levers but none of them can latch or lock until Kwikset decides to do so.My fault for not researching further. These are a very high quality lever for the price it is being sold for.Robert 4Great modern looking door handle Very modern looking door handles. You don't typically find these type of handles at your local Home Depot or Lowes. Was a little hesitant to purchase at first, since I typically like to touch and get a feel of the material I buy. Took the risk and purchased this item and have loved it ever since. The handle locks by pressing a button under the door handle. Since this type of handle isn't common, guests who use the powder room in my house often ask, "How do you lock this door?" so be ready to give instructions on how to lock these handles when you have guests. 5Watch out.... The handle looks nice and sleek, but the mechanic part of the lock is not included, you have to buy it on the side (like from Home Depot) while generally it does come with the handle. It is ok if you want replace the handles only, not for a new door with nothing in place yet. Disappointed. 3Would be perfect if the handles were level. Just purchased these to change out each of the tacky brass knobs that came with my house and I love them. They are very substantial and high quality - definitely not a flimsy handle. Installation was a snap - after the first one, I was able to install the others in about 10 minutes each. What I like most about them is that they are different - all the knobs in the big box stores are boring. These may cost a little more, but definitely worth it. The only thing preventing me from giving them 5 stars is the fact that I am a little bit of a crazy person when it comes to things being level, and while it's easy to make sure the rosette is square and level, the actual handle itself isn't. It's not horribly off, but it's definitely not level and tilts downward. It will probably stop bothering me eventually, and other people may not notice it, but if you're a freak about things being level like me, you may find yourself slightly annoyed as well. Side note, if anyone out there has had this problem as well and has figured out how to correct it, please let me know!! 4Clean lines, high quality finish I purchased this brand and style in dummy knobs and hallway/closet as well. Very impressed with quality, usually Kwikset leaves something to be desired but I've changed my opinion after installing these in our house. I love how the lock button is discreet, very modern looking. 5High quality - minor flaw with striker Looks great, has high quality feel and well designed.Only down side is that the interior handle (from the lock side) when pulled down does not actually pull the handle on other side, or the actual striker itself. On the exterior side of the door, the striker is immediately depressed/pulled back in when you press down the door handle.Works fine, but seemed odd that only one side of the door handle works this way?Has extra door plates (rounded and squared, that's usually standard but FYI, that was great that they included it) 4Beautiful design but old internal parts... Beautiful design and trendy style. After so many years making hardware I though Kwikset could figure out a quieter operating latch mechanism. It annoys me to hear an internal spring when I turn the handle. It also was somewhat annoying that the latch mechanism isn t very responsive as in you have to turn the handle 10-15 degrees before the latch starts to respond. How hard is it to improve on a simple design that s been around for decades? My strike plate and handle are lined up perfectly and my door closes and stops without any rattle or commotion. It s also unfortunate that because of the cheap latch mechanism the handle sags a few degrees when it s sitting there. This won t bother most people but it is a slight irritation to me. 4Cant believe Kwikset makes these Honestly these are really nice door handles and much better quality than standard kwikset offerings you see at the big box stores. They are very heavy and extremely high quality. I wanted a handle with a square design that was sort of modern/contemporary to match our new bathroom and these did not disappoint. Price is between a regular kwikset and a schlage handle but the quality is superior. Easy to install, locking mechanism is kind of hidden but work great. If you like the design then these wont disappoint. 5Coordinates with Baldwin Reserve I ordered 2 of the passage levers to coordinate with the other Halifax door handles I've purchased from different sellers on Amazon. They arrived in pristine condition and I'm very happy with the purchase.I adore the Halifax style lever because it feels very high-quality and has a modern, minimalistic and almost industrial style. The levers are quite heavy. My contractor friend was also impressed by these and couldn't believe they were made by Kwikset. He commented, "Wow, Kwikset used to be cheap junk that builders installed in track homes."I particularly like how the Halifax includes 2 different shaped strikeplates: Square and radius curved. This is great when using these to replace existing hardware as it allows a good fit.Installation was easy for me, but only because I figured out the process with an earlier install. The first time around was a bit fusturating, but since I refused to accept that they would fit less than perfectly, I finally figured it out! The trick is determining if you need to use the enclosed spacers. These include the spaces for the latch, strikeplate and the round one that goes behind the front lever.TIP: If your lever doesn't fit or it latch closed perfectly, it's most likely the result of incorrect spacer use. The brass colored round spacer should be used if the levers feel loose after tightening the screws. Remove if it doesn't fit. If the latch is not the correct length, the spacer should be changed out (there's 2 options enclosed) or totally omitted. If the strikeplate fits too deep, use the spacer, and if not deep enough, remove it.Along my hardware replacement journey, I discovered that the Halifax lines looks nearly identical to the square rose style levers made by Baldwin. (I'm not sure who copied who.) The Baldwin equivalent seems to run about $60-$65. Asthetically, I don't really see a difference but perhaps Baldwin's version will endure a longer lifespan???I replaced the hardware on my exterior doors with the Baldwin Reserve handle set and used Halifax on the interior doors. They look perfect together. (Included a pic of the Baldwin lever on my garage door to show to show the similarities.) 5it looks nice, but the handle from inside of the room ... i bought it on April but only installed it yesterday.it looks nice, but the handle from inside of the room will only come back up half way after pushed down.I guess the spring is not strong enough to pull it back up.its impossible to get a hold of their customer service.shame 1
