Customer Reviews

First quality kitchen sinkDid not know this brand but we are impressed by the build quality and excellent finish. Used this to replace a well known brand when remodeling our kitchen and is so much better. Noise insulation is excellent. Stainless steel is heavy gauge. Brushed finish is beautiful. Comes with nice extras such as the strains. We are happy with this purchase. We also got the matching Kraus faucet which fits perfectly. Ill be looking forward to this brand for future house projects. Highly recommended.5This Krause sink is topnotch. We recently remodelled our kitchen. The wife wanted a aluminum under the counter sink. Naturally we went to Lowe's and Home Depot. Each store had only one to choose from. No selection. Bothe were $300 plus.On a whim I went online to Amazon and searched for sinks. I came across the Krause 32 inch 60/40 under the counter sink for only $249.95. This sink turned out to be way better then the choices in the home improvement stores and cost less. The pluses over the home improvement store are:- 16 gauge vs 18 gauge (the smaller the number the thicker the sink.- Came with drains fro both sides of the sink. Not so with the store choices.- Came with a tail pipe for the drain. Not so with the store choices.- Even came with a special cleaning cloth made specifically for aluminum sinks.- Let's not forget the difference in cost. Almost $100 less for a way better sink.- Two tailor made grates for the bottom of the sink.- Finally the packaging is unreal. I opened the cardboard carton and found a inner (thick) straform package. I opened the straform to find the sink packed in a cloth bag. Not a disposable bag. A reusable bag.All in all a very great buy. 5Microshield finish is terrible. Do not buyWorst product ever. First I had to,purchase FOUR sinks to get one delivered. Hours of customer service discussions. Then when it came, I had to have it Installed right away because granite was being delivered. Didn't realize it was stained until after it was installed. At that point no water had been put on it, but stains obvious. There were "freckled" spots all around the basin, and nothing took them out. Not soap and water, not stainless products. I contacted Kraus but they just sent me to their FAQs on Maintenance. NOT helpful. The best help I got was from Amazon customer reviews. One person suggested Barkeepers Friend plus the wire mesh cloth it comes with. I ordered it online. Thankfully when applied, it did take the stains out,BUT....these microshield finishes SUCK. Every drop of water stains. You have to wipe it dry EVERY time you turn water on if you don't want to have ugly water stains visible in the sinks. I would never order this again.1I HIGHLY do not recommend the scratch resistant versionI have no idea why amazon would not post my original review.I HIGHLY do not recommend the scratch resistant version. Just installed it in my newly remodeled kitchen with brand new quartz countertop.I was not able to see the sink before it was installed, otherwise I would not have used it.The embossed surface is not attractive even when brand new out of the box.Day 2 of after being installed, it already had watermarks and discoloration spots that looked like rust began appearing.Today is day 5 and the spots are multiplying and getting darker.I called Kraus USA and they claim it is not rust and can be removed with bar keeper's friend and said it's an issue they've been having with their customers. I do not think a brand new 16 gauge stainless sink should discolor in any way.I haven't tried it yet but hope it is removable. However, even without the rust like spots, the embossed surface does not let the water drain off the surface properly, hence the watermarks will always be there unless you dry your sink after every use. Basically, you're getting watermarks and discoloration instead of scratches I suppose.**please note that the sides of the sinks in the pictures are dry and have no water. It is all watermarks.1Not Much I Have Is Perfect, But This Kraus Sink IsTotally and completely LOVE this sink. Big side holds my biggest FarberWare 12-qt. pot. The deep strainer means I don't have to empty it continuously during a cooking session. The sink racks are new to me, and do the job of protecting the sink and your dishes.I guess the towel is supposed to elegant or something, but unnecessary. It's a sink. It gets used. Clean the sink with Dawn. Beautiful. Maybe each year you shine it up with Bar Keeper's Friend, but no need yet. .It's insullated on the bottom so it is not noisey like the cheap ones. VERY well packed so there was no shipping damage. The Kraus is very high quality. This is such a change from my old porcelain Kohler. That built up with black pot marks the first week. Took a lot of scrubbing.Go Kraus.5I like this sink and would definitely recommend itArrived in perfect condition. Looks good. Has a solid feel. Dimensions exactly as expected, so the installation was routine. The 60/40 shape also allows the faucet to be installed inset towards the sink, which saves counter space if you are limited at the rear. Kit includes 1 large basket strainer, which I really like, and 1 traditional strainer which I didn't use because I installed a disposal. Wasn't sure if I'd use the protective grids but so far (3 weeks) I've been using them and like them. The kit also includes gaskets that eliminate the traditional need for plumber's putty. However, if you install a disposal as I did, you'll need putty for that. Overall, all pro's and no con's to report.5Sink Good - Shipping Box BadIn our kitchen remodel I ordered this sink thinking I was getting a quality product; big name value with smaller name price. I was mostly right. The sink is very high quality heavy guage, along with the accessories: grid tray bottoms for both sinks, removable drain basket for one side (recommend non-disposal side for this), very good sound suppression for a stainless steel sink (even a Kraus towel). The biggest problem was the shipping packaging. The first sink arrived in the included Kraus cloth protective bag - no box. The sink was damaged and unusable; and only about 1/2 of the accessories arrived. I contacted Amazon and they shipped a 2nd sink. I was to return the 1st one in the 2nd box. 2nd box, too, was in bad shape, but everything arrived intact. I had to rebuild the box to ship the 1st sink back. We had to halt construction for 2nd sink to arrive. Overall, we're very happy with the sink and the quality. But Kraus needs to rethink their shipping packaging. Learn from Amazon. Continuous cardboard boxing is far superior to pieces glued together with supports at the corners. Kraus is a quality product - too bad it took 2 tries to get a good shipment.3great quality, great price, really happy with this purchaseThis is a really nice, quality sink at a great price. Even our countertop installers commented on how nice the sink was. The size is perfect for our kitchen. We used to have a 50/50 split bowl, and compared to that, this is a bit bigger. The 60/40 bowl is nice because we can fit large pots in the bigger portion of the sink, but even the smaller bowl is larger than our 50/50 bowl sizes. The MicroShield is a nice touch. I think it's easier to make it look clean, rather than having a normal plain stainless sink, which is what we used to have. The accessories that come with it are also a great addition. I highly recommend using the grates. Although they may not look as pretty as you want them to, they definitely help protect the sink. You can always remove them when you have guests or a dinner party, but they work well to protect the sink.It is sound-proof, and you can see when you get the sink that it has good protection underneath for that. I do wish the bowls were the same depth, but I didn't see a single 60/40 sink like this with bowls that were the same depth. I guess that just doesn't exist. Otherwise, really happy with this purchase. I also like the aesthetic of having one bowl go slightly deeper than the other. It adds a little more visual appeal. It comes with a template that gives you two options on how you want it to look. Unlike some sinks, the template matches well.5Completely satisfied! This would have been a nice sink at any price, but at this price point it's incredible!Packed like an heirloom, and very sturdy. I didn't install this one myself, but the guys who did said it was very easy to work with. The stainless looks great, and is easy to clean. The sink is quiet when running water, with the best noise control padding I've ever seen. No vibration when running the disposal, even though it's the most powerful one I could find and it is mounted under the larger sink (which would be more prone to vibration). We like the very handy deep basket to put in the non-disposal drain. Speaking of drains, having both rear offset frees up so much space under the sink! Finally, we love the drain racks. They both protect the sink and provide a raised rack for draining things. Crazy that they're included in the price.I have several co-workers that have installed this and other Kraus sinks, and they tell me they're just as impressed as we were with Kraus quality. 5Looks great and works great!I researched and researched before purchasing this new sink. My fabricator offered one of their own stainless steel sink and while it would have been at least a hundred dollars cheaper, I wanted something that I wanted and chose for myself. So after reading hundreds of reviews on different sinks, I eventually went with this one and I'm glad that I did. We went with the scratch resistant finish. If you're a parent, you'd understand why. So far so good. The install went great and I've been using the inserts to actually prevent scratching. The finish is amazing and it looks great. I went with a taller faucet to facilitate my big pots even though this sink is deep, but I'm one for having pots piled in the sink before loading them in the dishwasher. So far so staining, no rusting but I'll be sure to update if this ever happens. If you're like me and have tons of dishes, then this is great. I'm glad I went with the 60/40 instead of a 50/50 as well. The right smaller side, we installed a brand new garbage disposal under it as well and so far so good.I've uploaded a picture but not so sure that you can really see the finish on the inside. Looks really great with the Giallo Fiorito granite that we eventually chose.5Very Good Sink with Well Designed Extras Very good quality sink. Heavy walled with good sound deadening. The ratio between small and large sinks works great for us. The stainless steel rack for the sink bottom works great. The large drain basket strainer for the large sink side works even better. No more using your hand to get the food pieces out of the drain. You can tell it is German designed because they over killed the packaging. The sink was inside a cloth bag inside the box just so that it could not get scuff marks on it. 5Missing instructions and template not as advertised.I purchased a Kraus KBU-24E. It arrived promptly, thanks to Amazon Prime, and it was very well packaged. The sink looks outstanding and the accessories are very well made and look really good. THE BAD. There were no installation instructions in the box. I had to download them from Kraus' website. But worst of all the template that they included did not have a cutout for a negative reveal (where the counter top extends slightly over the sink. Their documentation stated that there was a template for this. I called Kraus' customer service and all they could do was send me a CAD file (.dxf) Now all I need to do is find someone with a CAD program and a large plotter. I live in a very rural area. The nearest town with a traffic light is an hour away. I found an architect who would, for a fee, print out my drawing, but the file was corrupt. ARRRRGH!!! I am now down to two working days before the guy comes to make the measurements for our quartzite counter tops. I emailed Kraus and after not getting a reply by the next afternoon, called them again. They claimed to have sent me a new copy of the file, which I did not receive. I had them send another copy to my backup email address, which I received. I had downloaded a CAD file viewer and was able to ascertain that the file was good this time. I could not get away to have the file plotted, so I ended up getting out my old college drafting equipment and drawing the D#@^ line on the existing template.I will update this review after the sink is installed. Maybe I can add another star.3Very Well Packaged/Great SinkWe just updated our kitchen and were looking for an under mount sink to go with the new granite. The Kraus Sink exceeded our expectations.Pros-Well packaged. The sink was so expertly packaged with individual boxes holding all the extra pieces and plenty of styrofoam to prevent damage to the unit. The sink comes wrapped in a plastic bag and a nice fabric covering. No chance of scratches.-A lovely full-color brochure was included to show all the other sink styles and accessories to choose from. We are in the process of building a new house. I appreciate the brochure because I will be buying a Kraus sink. Some of the sets come with faucets and soap dispensers.-All Krouse sinks come with a hand towel, bottom grids with protective feet and bumpers.-Extra bumpers are included (Just in case you lose a couple) and stainers-!6 gauge stainless steel. The lower the gauge the thicker the metal.-Sound dampeners on the sides and bottoms-A template is included for easy placement.-Yay, strainer basket. This is a really cool feature. One of the strainers is really deep, you can keep the basket in it so when all those gross bits of food end up getting caught in it, you don't have to push your hand down and pull the food out-ew. You can just pull the basket up by its handle and dump it in the trash.-Lifetime warranty-Generous basin-The drain is set further in the back for more space. Smart.Cons-No rubber gasket for garage disposal. But no sink comes with a garbage disposal gasket. You'll have to buy that separately.I don't have any long-term information. I hope it holds up, but if it doesn't, I'll update my review.-5
