Customer Reviews

Exactly what I needed. Initially I was planning to order some generic replacement cushions from here on Amazon partly because I did not know what size my headphones needed. The others were larger and would probably have require less stretching to get them on the headphones.I went with these as they are the replacements that KOSS says fits my model of headphones. They DO fit but I had to really take my time putting them on as they needed to stretch quite a bit before they were on properly. The generic set cushions I was considering are 64MM and these are 48mm on the outside diameter. As with most replacement ear cushions (even if they are from the same brand as the headphones themselves) they are thinner than the original ear cushions. However, they do what they are made to do which is to be more comfortable than having the headphones on your ears without padding.I give these 4 rather than 5 stars because they could be a little bigger so you don;t have to stretch them out quite so much to get them on. 4Perfect Replacement Pads for My Koss Portapro I bought my Koss Portapro in late 2016 and the original foam pads started to disintegrate around last Xmas. I didn't bother to get new pads until recently, when I finally got tired of having black foam bits cramping my style when I am in my Tide fresh white wife beater. The pic for this looked somewhat sketchy, but for about 7 bucks, why not?So glad I did. The new pads are a perfect fit for my Portapro. Installation was painless and took seconds. The headphones feel so much more comfortable with the new pads on. But the best part was the sound quality. Holy moly, I forgot how good these sound. The new pads completely restored the highs and the sound stage. The clarity is a lot closer to my Grados than I remember... and that's saying something.Without a doubt, if you need replacement pads, these should do just fine. 5Perfect Fit for PortaPro Series -- Easy to Install Perfect replacement for pads on PortaPro headphones. Just as well made, comfortable and thick as originals. They fit snuggly and don't bunch up or come off. They attached in about two minutes by putting one end of stretch material over one edge of speaker then working around the outer edge pulling stretch material around speaker. Really, it couldn't be easier. Don't need to take apart the speaker, use toothpicks, screwdrivers, etc.. Perhaps others who had problems were using a different Koss headphone. Highly, highly recommended over the cheap imitations. 5See YouTube for instructions which should have come with this Worked fine once they were actually installed. No directions! It's NOT as obvious as it could be. Once I saw a YouTube video, I realized I had to use a utility knife to separate out the plastic "keeper" to get access. I was afraid to break something. It did take more force than I expected. 4Easy direct replacement I've had my Koss portable/foldable headphones for years. The ear pads were starting to disintegrate due to use and above normal wear and tear. I was disappointed because I really liked these headphones (I even bought my wife a pair). Quick look on Amazon and boom, many choices for ear pads. I went with the official Koch replacements and was very happy. Easy 'off with the old' and 'on with the new'. Feel great, don't distort the music. My only concern is that it comes in a 6 pack. Knowing me, I'm afraid I won't be able to find them when my wife needs new ones, or, years from now, when I need to replace these. C'est la vie. 5Perfect fit I received these cushions today, and thanks to a review by another buyer, I was able to install them easily. I popped out the speakers using a butter knife and these covers fit perfectly. I then snapped the speakers back into place and it was done. I am a little old lady of 75 and if I can do it anyone can do it! I have the Koss KXTPRO1 headphones. I've had them since Dec. 2012 and they work great. Highly recommend not only the headphones but the replacement ear cushions as well. 5Some instructions would have been nice but they work well Some instructions would have been nice. Purchased to replace disintegrating pads on a seven year old Koss KTXPRO1 and they fit well once I figured out how to pop the speakers out of the headset. But I was operating blindly with zero idea if I was doing it correctly or getting ready to break my favorite pair of headphones. I got it done but how hard would it be for them to print instructions on the back of the package? They are a bit thin, too- I was a tad bit disappointed in that. Next time I replace them I think I'll rig a second layer of something in there if I can come up with something that won't affect the sound too badly. All in all better than OK but not perfect. 4OEM replacement for Radio Shack Optimus 25 headphones Before Radio Shack went kaput, they sold a great set of lightweight headphones called the Optimus 25. For a long time, they were their top-of-the line model, full price ~$40, but frequently on half-price sale at ~$20. I have several pairs, and have been hunting for replacement ear cushions. I read that the headphones were made by Koss, so I tried these out [thanks to a reader who answered my question in the Q&A section]. As far as I can tell, they are the OEM ear cushions; same fit and quality.Note: The price bounces around. A good buy at ~$6 for a pack of 6 (replacements for 3 pairs of headphones). Not so good at ~$15. After all, they are just pieces of shaped foam. 5Comfy; Helped Salvage Great Headphones Replaced crumbling pads on Koss KTXPro1. No instructions. No install/break down instructions found on net either.Ripped old pads off as cleanly as possible. Positioned new pad around ear piece then used credit card to shimmy and stuff pad into ear piece holder. Macgyver would be proud. Not as pretty as original install but works. New pads considerably softer than original, old, worn pads. Was planning to replace only one which was shredded but glad replaced both.Comfortable on ears. Headphones still going strong. Almost threw them away.At this rate, assuming 2 remaining pairs last ~3 years each, I'm set for next ~10 years. :-D 4Physical dimensions of Koss PORTABLE Cushions If you're trying to replace foam pads on some other headset with Koss PORTABLE foam cushions, the following is mentioned:The cushion outer shape is a round disk, 1 7/8 inches in diameter and 3/8 inch thick. The opening in one of the disk's flat surfaces, that you stretch over your headset earpiece, is round and 1 1/4 inches in diameter. The space within the cushion that fits the outer diameter of your headset earpiece appears to be 1 5/8 inches diameter. I'd have known this product didn't match my needs if some other review had mentioned these dimensions, so there they are. They are very nice cushions if they're the size you need. 5
