Perfect solution for those needing more case fans without enough internal connections.I ordered this after a PC rebuild. Went from a smaller mATX case to a full midsize one that had a lot more case fan placements. My existing mobo only had a single three pin fan connector for the case which didn't have the amperage throughput to supply multiple via a splitter and I needed 5, so picked this up and although it is a little inconvenient to have to adjust your fan speeds manually rather than via internal software, it works perfect and since it takes a direct sata power connection I was able to use one of the dials to control two 140mm fans via a splitter with no issue.5Not great, just OK. You only get a low of about 60% MAX if that, and LEDS will ALL dim as you turn down if you have led fans :-(OK....I installed this last night and am SOMEWHAT happy with it BUT.....the variable speed will NOT lower your fans much lower than about 60-70% so you're not going to be able to really turn them down much at all, prob just enough to adjust the noise a bit but not near as much as I was hoping. BE VERY careful when tightening this into a 5.35" adapter tray if you don't have a 3.5" floppy compartment....this is plastic housing and pretty cheap and I BARELY tightened my first screw and stripped it out VERY easily so used a bigger screw to get it tight again.ALSO, if you have LED colored fans, the WILL dim also as you turn them down which is also a bummer....it's be nice to have the LED stay bright and still be able to turn them down like my case fan will if plugged into the sysfan connector on the motherboard but when plugged into this it gets dim as I turn it down, Also if you have software that controls your fans like some motherboard utilities have and some games can do it won't work as you're overriding these since they are plugged into this instead. All in all, I wish there was a way to simply have more case fan connections coming off the actual board instead or an adapter of some kind you could plug into the ONE case fan connector on the motherboard and have it create two-4 more sys fan plugs without sacrificing led brightness and better low end speeed like I get with my motherboard software (I c literally turn them down to like 10% and still have 100% brightness o the LED) but then I'm not sure if it'd power them all, but I don't see why not. But since most motherboards only have one sysfan maybe two connectors I went with this with hopes in achieving something that the motherboard (Gigabyte LGA 1150) software does and it technically does the trick but at the cost of not much change overall when turned down all the way (again at 60-70% lowest speed only) which is a bummer, I wanted about 20% and up variance but you won't get it....60% or so and higher is all this will do which isn't much really and then it REALLY dims your leds too so in hindsight I probably wouldn't have bought this and tried something else but for the money and the fact it's installed I think I'll leave as is for now until I find a better way since I'm not upgrading anytime soon to say water cooling where I wouldn't need the fans much...So if anyone knows a better way to have more sys fan connectors that come off the actual sysfan on the board I'm all ears....a moduar power supply with adapter cables worked to add more too but the mobo software wouldn't control all the fans without dimming either because they aren't seen unless plugged into the sysfan on the board so the LEDs and speed were topped out at max with no control but did of course work, just at full speed only. I wanted to control two front fans, and 3 top fans with this which it DOES do, but the low speed isntvery low at all and then of course the LED lighting is variable too so the lower you go down the dimmer the LEDs.....not a huge issue but I like to show off my case and also wanted a much lower bottom end control....not just . 40-40% decrease but more like 20% and up option.... So for the dimming of the LEDs and the not so low fan speed-ability I dock a star for each.1Poor quality materialsFor 20 bucks I was expecting higher quality components that this. Instead it is cheaply made thin plastic, It will work for the application but i am disappointed. Its worth about 10 bucks max, lets hope it lasts. I don't know what else to say... Sad about this purchase.2Never worked reliably for me from the start. I bought the Kingwin KW525-3U3CR to go with a brand new computer I was building. I got it mainly for the added USB 3 ports it would provide. The card reader was just a bonus. After installing it, one of the first things I did was plug an external USB 3 hard drive into the panel in order to start transferring data to the new machine. I could never get a reliable file transfer going for anything other than small files. Any large files or folders I tried to transfer, there was always some sort of error. But once I unplugged my drive from this panel and plugged into a native USB slot on the back of the computer, the transfers went off without a hitch. I tried using this panel again and again over the next few days but with similar results. I finally ended up removing it from the computer. Unfortunately, it's too late to return it so I'm just out $30 for a defective device. Don't have much confidence in trying any other USB panels from this maker. 1Some key flaws. This review is for the "Kingwin KW525-3U3CR Multi-Function Super Speed USB 3.0 Hub". I've had a it a few months.(1) All the card slots hub through a USB 2.0 circuit board and USB 2.0 cable to your mobo. The product description fails to hint at this, and even makes it sound like the cards read at USB 3 speed -- they don't. This was a major disappointment, since I bought this device as USB 3.0 card reader.(2) One of the USB-A/3.0 ports (the far left one) is just the female end of a USB-A/3.0 cable glued up against the front panel of the Kingwin. This turns out to be a good thing, since it is the one port that ALWAYS works for me (for data transfer).(3) The rest of the ports -- [a] the other two USB-A/3.0 ports, [b] the single USB-C port, and [c] the eSATA port -- all hub through a second larger circuit board. This board connects to one of two branches of a 20-pin USB3.0 cable from your mobo. So, just be aware that even WHEN those ports are all working (mine come in & out of connecting) you can't use all of them at full speed, since they hub onto one lane. (But then everyone does this, since mobo's have few internal USB3.0 ports.)(4) As mentioned in 3, the mid and right USB-A/3.0 ports are hit-or-miss. Sometimes W10 sees them, but often W10 sees nothing I connect here (SD card readers and such). Another reviewer's observation that they always work for charging seems pointless, since who buys a USB3.0 hub to charge things? I have dedicated high speed USB chargers* for that. I need a USB3.0 hub to move data.(5) The USB-C port on my Kingwin KW5250-3U3CR has never worked**. I know my mobo port is USB 3.0, not 3.1. Maybe that explains it? But the product description here claims backward compatibility with USB 3.0. If so, then the USB-C port should work in my build (at 3.0 speeds, not 3.1), but the USB-C port doesn't work at all. So, it seems either this port is bad, or the backward compatibility is failing.(6) The eSATA feed from this Kingwin device has its own internal SATA cable to your mobo. (I never tested this out, since I have chassis eSATA already, and no more spare SATA ports on my mobo.) (The good news here is that the design uses this separate channel for any eSATA data traffic, so you're not further loading up that one USB3 port on your mobo. I doubt any products would do this differently, since it would be more work for the hub's little board to convert SATA to USB3, but I mention it to be thorough.)_______________________________* Specifically, the Anker PowerPort Speed 4 Wall Charger; it's the best USB charger I've ever owned, and beats charging off a PC by a mile.** Update: on 11 Aug 2018, it worked briefly once, when I had a micro-SD card reader connected during boot. I'd had this connected dozens of times during boot before, so that was not the thing that made it work this time. And, just to test it, I removed the card then reconnected it, and it failed to register. 2case fan contoler unit very goodgreat little unit to keep my case nice and cooler now. much more better using this than it was the motherboard headers. got 2-200mm case fans and a 140mm and 1 20mm case fans as well running now at full speed !!! only thing i will say ORDER a adapter bracket for it !! other wise you have a hard time mounting it in your CD rom area . other than that for the price this is very GOOD !! so far5Perfect. SO easy to setup and works awesome. Solved my problems. The motherboard on my pc stopped functioning the chassis fans properly for some reason. I hated using software anyways for the fans, I rather have manual control for them and this works so nice. The wires are long but I rather them be long then too short. I looped them and zipped tied the extra length, problem solved. The temp leads are great. It comes with 4 of them. I love the knob controls vs touch screen that other fan control nits have. The speeds are 100% variable. The display is bright but my PC is in the living room so disturbing me while I sleep is not an issue. Plus they can be dimmed by tape or whatever else you can think of. It fit perfect in an open slot on the PC. It is either Auto control or manual, nice that is gives that option. Push the mode button and you can see the rpms of each fan. This machine is super quiet now and the fans only gets pumped up when I play GTAV or do video editing, I didn't hook up the SD card reading part since I already have one on the PC. I only wanted this for the fan controls. 5Gets the job done.This is a simple solution to adjust the speed of your fans. If you're expecting more, please look elsewhere. The quality control isn't great. The enclosure is made out of cheap plastic (mine has a dent on the bottom) and the knob quality varies. You either have a knob with the right amount of resistance, one that's loose, and one that's too tight. The blue lights aren't adjustable. Luckily, it's hidden behind my case's PSU/HDD enclosure. It could be much better, but it should work for you if you're careful enough.3Loooooong cables +++ I got this controller to control the 6 120mm fans inside of my Maelstrom case that were mounted to the side panel.They were super loud, and generally I like fans that are loud. I sleep with a fan on high right beside my head. The fans I have produce more of a whine than a him.These fans do a great job cooling, they just needed to be throttled down some. I browsed around and settled on the FPX-006 fan controller.The unit fits in a 5.25 bay, although it was tricky getting it to seat in the toolless drive bays on my case. It isn't a deep controller, about half the depth of a typical dvd-rom drive.It comes with 6 super long 3 pin fan connectors already attached. I wish I'd have measured them before routing the cables. Needless to say, I had plenty of slack in a full tower case to connect the fans all of the way in the back if I wanted and still have surplus. The unit appears to be functioning properly, all 6 channels control the fans great so far.My only gripe was it being hard to seat in a toolless bay, but it has nothing to do with the function of the controller itself and wasn't worth taking a star away. 5Very nice piece of equipment This works great. I'm reviewing the hard drive power switch - seems like some of the reviews are for other devices listed as the same main item. I'm using it with the an Intel motherboard with integrated SATA 3, and a 500W supply, feeding from the molex style connectors (4 pin).I'll say that if you don't know what you might want this for, then you might not need it. I use it to let me switch between different boot drives without using a boot manager. You can do that without having to switch your SATA ports to hot swap. (On my Intel motherboard, the default is non-hot swap, but it can be changed. I have no idea about other motherboards.) I've had no issues with the primary drive blinking out while hot swapping other drives, as someone else mentioned.So far I've just used this for different versions of Linux, but it should work for anything. Keep in mind, that booting a drive while another drive is enabled, and where both drives "think" they are supposed to be the primary boot drive can cause you trouble. It won't hurt the hardware, but for example a second boot drive may overwrite data on the first boot drive, making that first drive non-bootable until the software is repaired. That's not the fault of the switch, it's just inherent in switching around the drives.All in all, this is a much easier and safer way of switching in and out sata drives than unplugging and replugging, or using a carrier, because there's no wear and tear on the sockets. This has lights to tell you which drives are active, and more importantly nice mechanical switches to turn on and off each drive. 5Great fan controller for the priceI've purchased three of these for different builds. First build my parents complained that the PC I built for them was too loud. They're the ones that skimped on a $30 case with no noise reduction capabilities. Since they don't really push the machine very far I bought one of these and installed it and turned the fans done. Same thing for a second build for someone else.I bought the last one for my build after replacing some fans with some higher RPM fans that also ended up being louder than I would have liked. This controller works great for dialing the fans down when I'm not gaming on the PC and up when I'm pushing the machine. I like that these have knobs versus buttons. Feels like I have more control and can really dial in where the noise just stops being noticeable.Sort of wish I could dim or disable the LEDs but at this price that's something I can live without.4Works great at making my computer quiet at nightI thought this was going to be CD drive size, but it is smaller like a floppy disc size. I found a plate adapter and harness on some old computer equipment I had, but you may need to purchase that too if you want it to look nice. Fits my black case with blue led fans perfectly. Looks really nice installed.My goal was to have my fans blasting when I'm playing games and creating heat, and slow them down and make them quiet when I'm trying to sleep. Works really well or my purpose.The knobs do however only seem to respond past the 60% on setting, and then there is a really big change in speed and noise between 80-100%. I don't know if this is how this is designed, or the way my fans are, but I'm not picky. I leave them set at 75% until my graphics card kicks in then I can turn them up to 100% with ease.Working well for a few weeks now.4Does the job, easy to use and set up.It does exactly what I needed it to do. One of my Nvidia 1080ti cards had two of the three fans go bad and there seem to be no replacements for my particular model. I strapped a couple of Bgears blaster 80mm fans to the heatsink and hooked them up to this controller and BINGO! A nice cool 1080ti again.5KW525-3U3CR has one data-transferring USB port KW525-3U3CR has one USB 3.0 port connected to the motherboard. The other two USB 3.0 ports and the USB-C are supposed to function from the onboard PCB, but it doesn't.The good news is that ALL of them provide POWER. So you can charge your phone or other devices with the remaining two USB ports and the USB-C. However, if you want to access data, you can only use the left-most USB port.I haven't tried the ESATA, Micro USB, M.2 or SD/MMC ports yet to find out if they will even work. I will update once I do.Overall, I'm happy for at least one front-facing USB port. And heck, if I want to charge my phone or my LED lamps, then I can so that's cool, too. 3Works Great!Product works as advertised. Easy install. Power connects to a 4-pin molex connector from the power supply (this is a tap connector so you can plug another molex connector behind it, and not use up your power supply connectors). Very easy install. Sockets will take up to a 4-pin fan plug. I wanted to slow down a noisy fan and this did the job nicely. Also adjusted the speed of a second fan. Very quiet computer now.5Pretty CoolWell this is a downgrade compared to what i used to have which had a screen. Opened the box and saw the shoddy workmanship. All card reader slots are misaligned rendering the unit worthless. I decided to leave a a detailed review in case anyone wondered what they were really getting because I wasn't so sure myself when I ordered it.The Kingwin KW525-3U3CR is a 5.25" drive bay mounted device. Once you have slid the reader into your computers 5.25" bay you will have 3 cables at the rear of the reader needing to be connected to your motherboard and or PCI-E USB 3 adapter. I purchased the Mailiya PCIE-7PTC20P PCI-E USB 3.0 and 3.1 (USB-C) Expansion card. Works great.Cables coming from the rear are the following:1. (1) 20 Pin USB connector. I connected this to my USB3 Expansion card but it will also connect to your motherboard if it supports it. The 20 pin connector is supposed to only handle 2 USB 3/3.1/C connections so I am assuming the Kingwin is a USB 3/3.1/C hub inside and this is why you can have 4 USB 3/3.1/C devices connected at the same time. This is not documented anywhere. I also do not know if the USB-C port supports "quick charging". I do not think it does.2. (1) 9 Pin USB 2.0 cable. This cable connects to the card reader and is used to transfer data from the Kingwin to your motherboard. None of the card types use the USB 3.0 connections to transmit data.3. (1) 1 SATA cable connection. This will connect directly to your motherboard and use one of your open SATA connections. This transfers data only from the card readers eSATA port straight to the motherboard.Overall I like it and it works as advertised. If anything changes or find a mistake in my review, I will update it. 5False advertizing - the card reader is USB2! I bought this product to integrate a fast card reader and a USB-C port into my desktop PC. Unfortunately, the card reader on this product is USB2, and there isn't a word of mention of this anywhere in the product description.The USB3 part includes a direct port from the motherboard and a hub, which includes the USB-C port.The SATA is an extension from the motherboard.The build quality of this product is mediocre.Bottom line I'm disappointed. 1USB regularly disconnects, slow transfer rates I have a 960 megabit per second usb 3.0 flash card reader and an 85 megaBYTE per second memory card (samsung)firstly, the card reader regularly disconnects. my last one never had that issue.secondly, the USB 3.0 transfers files at up to 40 megabytes per second.thirdly, the dedicated memory card reader transfers at up to 20 megabytes per second.aside from that, the housing is short, so it doesn't attach very reliably to my case mounting rails.the housing is plastic, requiring specialty screws to install. no metal to screw to.the housing is flimsy plastic and doesn't quite line up with the front of my case. it either sticks out or in, depending on which mounting holes I choose. this is not true of my DVD rom, which is normal and flush.the cables are too short. the SATA cable doesn't reach my SATA area. I cannot mount this item at the top of the case because the internal USB cable will not reach the motherboard. this is a problem. 2

Instead it is cheaply made thin plastic, It will work for the application but i am disappointed. Its worth about 10 bucks max, lets hope it lasts. I don't know what else to say... Sad about this purchase.2Never worked reliably for me from the start. I bought the Kingwin KW525-3U3CR to go with a brand new computer I was building. I got it mainly for the added USB 3 ports it would provide. The card reader was just a bonus. After installing it, one of the first things I did was plug an external USB 3 hard drive into the panel in order to start transferring data to the new machine. I could never get a reliable file transfer going for anything other than small files. Any large files or folders I tried to transfer, there was always some sort of error. But once I unplugged my drive from this panel and plugged into a native USB slot on the back of the computer, the transfers went off without a hitch. I tried using this panel again and again over the next few days but with similar results. I finally ended up removing it from the computer. Unfortunately, it's too late to return it so I'm just out $30 for a defective device. Don't have much confidence in trying any other USB panels from this maker. 1Some key flaws. This review is for the "Kingwin KW525-3U3CR Multi-Function Super Speed USB 3.0 Hub". I've had a it a few months.(1) All the card slots hub through a USB 2.0 circuit board and USB 2.0 cable to your mobo. The product description fails to hint at this, and even makes it sound like the cards read at USB 3 speed -- they don't. This was a major disappointment, since I bought this device as USB 3.0 card reader.(2) One of the USB-A/3.0 ports (the far left one) is just the female end of a USB-A/3.0 cable glued up against the front panel of the Kingwin. This turns out to be a good thing, since it is the one port that ALWAYS works for me (for data transfer).(3) The rest of the ports -- [a] the other two USB-A/3.0 ports, [b] the single USB-C port, and [c] the eSATA port -- all hub through a second larger circuit board. This board connects to one of two branches of a 20-pin USB3.0 cable from your mobo. So, just be aware that even WHEN those ports are all working (mine come in & out of connecting) you can't use all of them at full speed, since they hub onto one lane. (But then everyone does this, since mobo's have few internal USB3.0 ports.)(4) As mentioned in 3, the mid and right USB-A/3.0 ports are hit-or-miss. Sometimes W10 sees them, but often W10 sees nothing I connect here (SD card readers and such). Another reviewer's observation that they always work for charging seems pointless, since who buys a USB3.0 hub to charge things? I have dedicated high speed USB chargers* for that. I need a USB3.0 hub to move data.(5) The USB-C port on my Kingwin KW5250-3U3CR has never worked**. I know my mobo port is USB 3.0, not 3.1. Maybe that explains it? But the product description here claims backward compatibility with USB 3.0. If so, then the USB-C port should work in my build (at 3.0 speeds, not 3.1), but the USB-C port doesn't work at all. So, it seems either this port is bad, or the backward compatibility is failing.(6) The eSATA feed from this Kingwin device has its own internal SATA cable to your mobo. (I never tested this out, since I have chassis eSATA already, and no more spare SATA ports on my mobo.) (The good news here is that the design uses this separate channel for any eSATA data traffic, so you're not further loading up that one USB3 port on your mobo. I doubt any products would do this differently, since it would be more work for the hub's little board to convert SATA to USB3, but I mention it to be thorough.)_______________________________* Specifically, the Anker PowerPort Speed 4 Wall Charger; it's the best USB charger I've ever owned, and beats charging off a PC by a mile.** Update: on 11 Aug 2018, it worked briefly once, when I had a micro-SD card reader connected during boot. I'd had this connected dozens of times during boot before, so that was not the thing that made it work this time. And, just to test it, I removed the card then reconnected it, and it failed to register. 2case fan contoler unit very goodgreat little unit to keep my case nice and cooler now. much more better using this than it was the motherboard headers. got 2-200mm case fans and a 140mm and 1 20mm case fans as well running now at full speed !!! only thing i will say ORDER a adapter bracket for it !! other wise you have a hard time mounting it in your CD rom area . other than that for the price this is very GOOD !! so far5Perfect. SO easy to setup and works awesome. Solved my problems. The motherboard on my pc stopped functioning the chassis fans properly for some reason. I hated using software anyways for the fans, I rather have manual control for them and this works so nice. The wires are long but I rather them be long then too short. I looped them and zipped tied the extra length, problem solved. The temp leads are great. It comes with 4 of them. I love the knob controls vs touch screen that other fan control nits have. The speeds are 100% variable. The display is bright but my PC is in the living room so disturbing me while I sleep is not an issue. Plus they can be dimmed by tape or whatever else you can think of. It fit perfect in an open slot on the PC. It is either Auto control or manual, nice that is gives that option. Push the mode button and you can see the rpms of each fan. This machine is super quiet now and the fans only gets pumped up when I play GTAV or do video editing, I didn't hook up the SD card reading part since I already have one on the PC. I only wanted this for the fan controls. 5Gets the job done.This is a simple solution to adjust the speed of your fans. If you're expecting more, please look elsewhere. The quality control isn't great. The enclosure is made out of cheap plastic (mine has a dent on the bottom) and the knob quality varies. You either have a knob with the right amount of resistance, one that's loose, and one that's too tight. The blue lights aren't adjustable. Luckily, it's hidden behind my case's PSU/HDD enclosure. It could be much better, but it should work for you if you're careful enough.3Loooooong cables +++ I got this controller to control the 6 120mm fans inside of my Maelstrom case that were mounted to the side panel.They were super loud, and generally I like fans that are loud. I sleep with a fan on high right beside my head. The fans I have produce more of a whine than a him.These fans do a great job cooling, they just needed to be throttled down some. I browsed around and settled on the FPX-006 fan controller.The unit fits in a 5.25 bay, although it was tricky getting it to seat in the toolless drive bays on my case. It isn't a deep controller, about half the depth of a typical dvd-rom drive.It comes with 6 super long 3 pin fan connectors already attached. I wish I'd have measured them before routing the cables. Needless to say, I had plenty of slack in a full tower case to connect the fans all of the way in the back if I wanted and still have surplus. The unit appears to be functioning properly, all 6 channels control the fans great so far.My only gripe was it being hard to seat in a toolless bay, but it has nothing to do with the function of the controller itself and wasn't worth taking a star away. 5Very nice piece of equipment This works great. I'm reviewing the hard drive power switch - seems like some of the reviews are for other devices listed as the same main item. I'm using it with the an Intel motherboard with integrated SATA 3, and a 500W supply, feeding from the molex style connectors (4 pin).I'll say that if you don't know what you might want this for, then you might not need it. I use it to let me switch between different boot drives without using a boot manager. You can do that without having to switch your SATA ports to hot swap. (On my Intel motherboard, the default is non-hot swap, but it can be changed. I have no idea about other motherboards.) I've had no issues with the primary drive blinking out while hot swapping other drives, as someone else mentioned.So far I've just used this for different versions of Linux, but it should work for anything. Keep in mind, that booting a drive while another drive is enabled, and where both drives "think" they are supposed to be the primary boot drive can cause you trouble. It won't hurt the hardware, but for example a second boot drive may overwrite data on the first boot drive, making that first drive non-bootable until the software is repaired. That's not the fault of the switch, it's just inherent in switching around the drives.All in all, this is a much easier and safer way of switching in and out sata drives than unplugging and replugging, or using a carrier, because there's no wear and tear on the sockets. This has lights to tell you which drives are active, and more importantly nice mechanical switches to turn on and off each drive. 5Great fan controller for the priceI've purchased three of these for different builds. First build my parents complained that the PC I built for them was too loud. They're the ones that skimped on a $30 case with no noise reduction capabilities. Since they don't really push the machine very far I bought one of these and installed it and turned the fans done. Same thing for a second build for someone else.I bought the last one for my build after replacing some fans with some higher RPM fans that also ended up being louder than I would have liked. This controller works great for dialing the fans down when I'm not gaming on the PC and up when I'm pushing the machine. I like that these have knobs versus buttons. Feels like I have more control and can really dial in where the noise just stops being noticeable.Sort of wish I could dim or disable the LEDs but at this price that's something I can live without.4Works great at making my computer quiet at nightI thought this was going to be CD drive size, but it is smaller like a floppy disc size. I found a plate adapter and harness on some old computer equipment I had, but you may need to purchase that too if you want it to look nice. Fits my black case with blue led fans perfectly. Looks really nice installed.My goal was to have my fans blasting when I'm playing games and creating heat, and slow them down and make them quiet when I'm trying to sleep. Works really well or my purpose.The knobs do however only seem to respond past the 60% on setting, and then there is a really big change in speed and noise between 80-100%. I don't know if this is how this is designed, or the way my fans are, but I'm not picky. I leave them set at 75% until my graphics card kicks in then I can turn them up to 100% with ease.Working well for a few weeks now.4Does the job, easy to use and set up.It does exactly what I needed it to do. One of my Nvidia 1080ti cards had two of the three fans go bad and there seem to be no replacements for my particular model. I strapped a couple of Bgears blaster 80mm fans to the heatsink and hooked them up to this controller and BINGO! A nice cool 1080ti again.5KW525-3U3CR has one data-transferring USB port KW525-3U3CR has one USB 3.0 port connected to the motherboard. The other two USB 3.0 ports and the USB-C are supposed to function from the onboard PCB, but it doesn't.The good news is that ALL of them provide POWER. So you can charge your phone or other devices with the remaining two USB ports and the USB-C. However, if you want to access data, you can only use the left-most USB port.I haven't tried the ESATA, Micro USB, M.2 or SD/MMC ports yet to find out if they will even work. I will update once I do.Overall, I'm happy for at least one front-facing USB port. And heck, if I want to charge my phone or my LED lamps, then I can so that's cool, too. 3Works Great!Product works as advertised. Easy install. Power connects to a 4-pin molex connector from the power supply (this is a tap connector so you can plug another molex connector behind it, and not use up your power supply connectors). Very easy install. Sockets will take up to a 4-pin fan plug. I wanted to slow down a noisy fan and this did the job nicely. Also adjusted the speed of a second fan. Very quiet computer now.5Pretty CoolWell this is a downgrade compared to what i used to have which had a screen. Opened the box and saw the shoddy workmanship. All card reader slots are misaligned rendering the unit worthless. I decided to leave a a detailed review in case anyone wondered what they were really getting because I wasn't so sure myself when I ordered it.The Kingwin KW525-3U3CR is a 5.25" drive bay mounted device. Once you have slid the reader into your computers 5.25" bay you will have 3 cables at the rear of the reader needing to be connected to your motherboard and or PCI-E USB 3 adapter. I purchased the Mailiya PCIE-7PTC20P PCI-E USB 3.0 and 3.1 (USB-C) Expansion card. Works great.Cables coming from the rear are the following:1. (1) 20 Pin USB connector. I connected this to my USB3 Expansion card but it will also connect to your motherboard if it supports it. The 20 pin connector is supposed to only handle 2 USB 3/3.1/C connections so I am assuming the Kingwin is a USB 3/3.1/C hub inside and this is why you can have 4 USB 3/3.1/C devices connected at the same time. This is not documented anywhere. I also do not know if the USB-C port supports "quick charging". I do not think it does.2. (1) 9 Pin USB 2.0 cable. This cable connects to the card reader and is used to transfer data from the Kingwin to your motherboard. None of the card types use the USB 3.0 connections to transmit data.3. (1) 1 SATA cable connection. This will connect directly to your motherboard and use one of your open SATA connections. This transfers data only from the card readers eSATA port straight to the motherboard.Overall I like it and it works as advertised. If anything changes or find a mistake in my review, I will update it. 5False advertizing - the card reader is USB2! I bought this product to integrate a fast card reader and a USB-C port into my desktop PC. Unfortunately, the card reader on this product is USB2, and there isn't a word of mention of this anywhere in the product description.The USB3 part includes a direct port from the motherboard and a hub, which includes the USB-C port.The SATA is an extension from the motherboard.The build quality of this product is mediocre.Bottom line I'm disappointed. 1USB regularly disconnects, slow transfer rates I have a 960 megabit per second usb 3.0 flash card reader and an 85 megaBYTE per second memory card (samsung)firstly, the card reader regularly disconnects. my last one never had that issue.secondly, the USB 3.0 transfers files at up to 40 megabytes per second.thirdly, the dedicated memory card reader transfers at up to 20 megabytes per second.aside from that, the housing is short, so it doesn't attach very reliably to my case mounting rails.the housing is plastic, requiring specialty screws to install. no metal to screw to.the housing is flimsy plastic and doesn't quite line up with the front of my case. it either sticks out or in, depending on which mounting holes I choose. this is not true of my DVD rom, which is normal and flush.the cables are too short. the SATA cable doesn't reach my SATA area. I cannot mount this item at the top of the case because the internal USB cable will not reach the motherboard. this is a problem. 2
