    Nice cords, UV/outdoor exposure seems to hurt them I bought several of these cords a few months ago to fasten a cover on my truck. The good news is that they've been under light load and have worked really well. They are very easy to adjust and use. The bad news is that they have been outside in sunny Florida weather now for 4 months and they are showing it. There is rust coming thru the covers on the hooks, the colors have faded and the cords are just starting to lose their snap. I like these cords a lot but I wish they stood up to weather better. UPDATE: Its now been almost 5 months and the cords are falling apart and losing their elasticity. I doubt they ll survive 6 months exposure to full sunlight. 2Outside Use Will Cause Deterioration In Less Than One Year Lasted only 10 months with outside use.I purchased two of these cables to secure a BBQ Grill cover to the grill. They worked well but fell apart after 10 months.I did just purchase two more, with the understanding they will only last a year outside.*** 06/06/208 Update ***As expected the pair of bungee cords has failed (disintegrated) in less than one year, sitting outside in the elements. I used a pair of these to secure a grill cover.I am lowering my rating to two stars, (don't buy) given the description states "UV Resistant outer jacket", which is not true.Next year I will try a different brank. 2Not the Quality I d Hope For I ve weighed the pros and cons: I like adjustability and exterior fabric is attrattractive. The hooks are made of dense synthetic material. The flat design makes these bungee cords easy to fold and stow, in a glove box, tool kit, or pack. Unfortunately, advantages are outweighed by concerns: (1) The bungee cord doesn t appear consistent in elastic tension, due adjustment buckles. (2) The collar attaching the hook to the bungee cord, blocks access to part of the the hook, unless you attach to a smaller or round object, (3) The orange and white outer surface has a tendency to damage or fraying, (4) This bungee appears stiffer than normal.Due to these observations, I do not plan to buy any more of these bungee cords again. 2Cord not strong, poor contraction I must agree with the other low reviews, unfortunately. It is not a longer version of the regular bungee cords ubiquitous to hand trucks, bikes, motorbikes... it is longer but it doesn`t have that umpfh or strength to it..it barely springs back for me.I like the idea of it, and if you are using it a in-home application that isn`t going to require a sturdy one then perhaps but you could just use some light rope or twine. The part of this that is sturdy is the hooks, they are well made. But the cord material breaks easily, I wouldn`t trust this with important equipment. Have to say I don`t recommend this item. There sure are a lot of 5 star ratings though, makes me think others are getting a better one or something? 2For indoor use only An expensive lesson learned. The design is a practical idea but don't purchase if you plan on using outdoors. I live in California so the weather elements are not that extreme. After less than 6 months use the straps have rotted and disintegrated. I originally purchased 5 of these to hold down tarp that secured the solar pool cover roll. Definitely not buying again. 2Wasted Money Bought in JUNE of this year, I said: " these seem quite strong and hopefully will resist deteriorating during the winter; I use them to lock two 30 gallon galvanized pails that are outside all year.". UPDATE: August: One of hooks separated from the material and is useless. I wanted to give the seller feedback but the link doesn't work on Amazon anymore. 2Not even medium duty. Very weak. Broke on the third use with little effort. I don't believe I've ever had a bungee break under so little stretch. 1Excellent Quality! Excellent Quality! Initially I purchased another bungee type cord, which did not work well. I ordered this one - and am very happy with it. I like the flat cord which minimizes any rolling or twisting of the cord. It is very durable, and I know it will last for many years to come. Highly recommend.Update 07/2015I had to haul long sheets of sheet metal in back of my vehicle, and needed a way to secure the load so it would not slide out of the back of my vehicle. (The tailgate of my vehicle opens upward, so there is nothing to prevent the load from sliding out). I used this Flat Bungee cord, and I put a small 8 lb bag of kitty litter on the sheet metal. It was perfect! It held the load tightly - even when I drove over bumps and holes in the road. When my vehicle went uphill to get home, this cord held the load securely. Will be ordering more. 5Great and affordable I need something to secure a car seat on top of my stroller, since I am flying alone overseas with one stop in between. This will do! Long enough to go through the belt holes of the car seat and back to to handle of the stroller. The car seat won't go anywhere, even while getting from one gate to the other in a hurry. Happy I bought this. 5Hook is strong, cord is not The cord ripped right out of the hook after a few months of semi-regular use. It wasn't even under a lot of strain. The only reason I'm giving it two stars instead of one is because it did work well for a couple months. 2
