Customer Reviews

necessity for any truck owner Pulled two giant sago palms out of the front yard with this attached to my '07 Silverado. Took a beating and didn't break. I repeatedly ran full force on this puppy while the sago palms held on for dear life. 5Must have if you go off roading This strap has helped me out of sticky situations as well as others. I'm surprised at how many people don't carry a recovery strap! I love having it in my truck in the winter time as well to help others stuck in snow. 5One great, must have peice of equipment. Much, much, much better than chains. One awesome piece of must have equipment. Even if you don't do off roading and such, it's still so good to have in your car/truck/suv. I got it Sept. 2014 and it's now March 2015. I bought it and put it under my passenger seat in my old 250 Dodge Ram 4x4. Since then I've towed 5 vehicles. A small suv that bottomed out over a hill. A full size truck in the snow. A Cadillac cts sunk in the mud. and the list goes on. One vehicle was towed for several miles. The strap has been dragged on the road, run over, it even got a 1 inch hole put in it by someone's tow hook when the strap loosed up then got tight again. I didn't even know the hole was there until we were done. That was the first tow. The strap has been fine even with the 1 inch whole in it. I don't write reviews often, but this strap was worthy of writing one. The loops are perfect to go inside a 2in receiver and then put a hitch pin through. Very well stitched too. If I want a shorter length sometimes I'll go around the towed vehicle's recovery point and then put one loop inside and other and then put both in the receiver which works surprisingly well. I guess one thing to be careful of is what you put it around. You wouldn't want it to be something sharp enough to possibly cut the strap, though this hasn't nearly happen to me yet. Finally, these straps are much, much, much safer than chains. I can't stress how careful you have to be with chains. They will break and each side sling shots back and breaks windshields back windows and hurts people bad. I've heard of people being killed with chains before. Not only that, but straps are much lighter and take up less room in the car and don't leave rust stains on stuff. Win win win(: Bottom line get a strap, this one is a good one. 5Know it's limitation and you will have a happy life. This is a good strap so long as your know its limitations. It is a big, burley webbing strap that is good for PULLING a vehicle, not for a snatch or shock loaded type application. Basically, despite what this strap says, it has very very little stretch, and it is not safe for a snatch recovery. A snatch recovery is a technical procedure that involves getting a running start with the vehicle, and it you don't know how to do one, you shouldn't learn how to do one from this review. The low amount of stretch means that you will apply tremendous amounts of force if you try to snatch with this, and you will either snap the strap or a metal piece; doth are potentially deadly. So, what is this good for? It's good for pulling a vehicle, which is all you will need 95% of the time. If you need to get a car from the mud or the snow, you can attach this to a secure point, ease the vehicle until the line is taunt, and then gently pull it out with this strap. The length is good for keeping the rescue vehicle on solid ground. The eye lots are big enough to feed through themselves. The stitching seems heavy duty. All in all, this is a good strap for the value. But, know its limitation, and realize that applying huge amounts of force to a line is always dangerous. 4Great Value, nice amount of stretch Have used this periodically since for 5 years. Strap has held up well, but unfortunately is starting to show some wear to know fault of it's own. This is a great heavy duty strap for the money. When it wears out, I will buy it again in a heartbeat. 5I wanted to see how much abuse it could take This recovery strap has seen many uses. It finally became unreliable after my buddy took his 4x4 SUV down the worst mountain off-road trail we could find. He totaled the engine and intake system in his car. I used this strap to tow his non-functioning SUV, full of gear, down one of the nastiest mountain trails back to civilization. We clocked approximately 17 miles of this strap being abused, by being yanked by my truck and the SUV, being dragged over rocks and boulders when slack was broken, fording several small streams and eventually dragging on pavement when we came to a real road. OBVIOUSLY, this strap was intended for RECOVERY ONLY, NOT to TOW vehicles. I wanted to see how much abuse we could put it through. It survived the whole way. It only frayed in one place, and the damage was negligible. It never tore nor broke in any other fashion. I mean to say that this strap is more than capable of recovering stuck cars from embankments and mud holes etc. I am incredibly impressed and will be buying another one to replace this one here soon. 5Would I recommend it? PssH Pulled out a Semi Truck with trailer attached out of the mud today in less then 10 seconds with my V6 4.0L 2011 Nissan Pathfinder. Would I recommend it? PssH...heck yeah! For the price, this strap is beefy and thick. I pulled a semi-truck that was stuck in the mud with my Thomas the train SUV! Wish I took some pics... 5BUY THIS TOW STRAP!!! LISTEN UP! Have used this tow strap for a few months now getting my dodge Dakota unstuck via a lifted keep wrangler (works flawlessly). Today however, the keep was not enough and had a 2014 ram 2500 Cummins pull me out and then it got stuck. The wheels got buried in about two feet of the nastiest mud of ever seen, needless to say a jeep and dodge Dakota couldn't get it out in four low. Had to call a tow truck which used this strap as it's main connection along with chains for over 100 feet while the rope was twisted. Pulled it out after 15 minutes at it pulling at a high tension. The truck weighs roughly three or four tons with the suction and weight of the mud.If you are looking for the best tow strap while staying on a budge, look no further. 5Tough and compact Tough as you're going to need for anything but the biggest trucks and then you're likely to need a wrecker. Loop fits inside my 2" receiver. I typically put the receiver pin through the loop and then pull from that rather than over a ball or something insecure.Construction appears strong and there are MANY heavy stitches where the ends are folded. I think for the price it's unbeatable. Fits under the drivers seat in my Titan and never leaves that spot except for use. 5A Survivor I originally wanted a shorter one, but this was all I could find in a wide manly strap. There were some cheaper ones, but I wanted something beefier that could hold up to some projects that were outside of the normal realms of its intended use.Enter my stupid uses for a tow strap. I had a bunch of nasty thorny bushes that I could not even get close to that I lassoed with a slip not then yanked the crap out of them attached to my Toyota FJ. I then pulled out some old stumps and some huge fence and fence posts on the side of a hill that were buried in concrete by some crazy person who had the property before me. No other method I could think of would have the possibility of working and the pro guys with bobcats estimate was over a thousand dollars. I even had all four wheels of the FJ spinning on a concrete drive yanking and that is some kind of force. The things that I did should have destroyed this strap. It survived, I survived, fence, concrete, bushes, stumps were not so lucky.Five stars all the way.UPDATE 5/9/2014. Just used to pull down a wall that was dividing a garage. Worked great. 5
