Impossible to find a bookcover/magnetic type folder to position them in a Horizontal position easily. > NEVER IN A VERTICAL POSITION!!This Kantek(TS710) Tablet Stand, from Amazon, is perfect! Supports strongly in BOTH directions. Horizontal & VERTICAL!Exactly as described! Follow instructions carefully. Best to secure tablet by pulling ONE grip arm open,Insert tablet, close arm. The arms only stretch to support the middle area of tablet, not the Long Full Length & without any book cover or pouch. Note ALSO; The tablet holder & arms, Rotate, IN ONE DIRECTION ONLY!! DO NOT FORCE Holder(arms) in the Opposite Direction!! It WILL Rotate,> IN A FULL COMPLETE CIRCLE! But in just ONE, ONLY ONE! direction. Per instructions. Top tilts full forward (vertical), to completely backwards. Base spins in a complete circle, 360 degrees smoothly. Base is Heavy, w/small round, rubber, non-scratch pads. See pics. 5Great value for a very handy and useful stand. This stand was purchased for use in our caf to hold our IPad mini which we use as our Square register. The device we use measures 5 1/4 inches x 7 7/8 inches. We use a landscape orientation for our register. The width or our device really stretched the expandable grip holders about as far as they would expand.The stand comes in three pieces and assembles easily by inserting just one screw in the bottom. We love how the stand rotates and tilts so that our patrons can sign for their purchases. The height is perfect for our use as it is placed on top of our cash drawer. The base is weighted so that the stand won't tip over. The expandable grip that holds the device in place is very strong. There is plenty of room to swipe a credit card if you use a card reader that plugs into the port on your IPad. I did have to remove the protective flip cover that we have kept our device in so that it would fit in the holder part of the stand. Overall, for the price I paid for this stand, I am very satisfied with this purchase. 5Solid, sturdy and stable The swivel works smoothly, and the tilt is a bit stiff. Considering that the tablet is intended to stay in a particular horizontal position for use, the stiffness is welcome. Tilt seems to work clockwise only and locks every 90 degrees. Slight wobble at the tilt rest position seems to be operational effect of the platform. Can type on tablet at different heights depending to what side of the upright the tablet is set. 5Great stand - floor and table models! I use these to install kiosks in client's businesses. Mostly restaurants. So heavy traffic, plus they need to look nice. I use the table top version when the client has a counter top location for install. Floor stand for my more "upscale" clients. Can't beat the price, which is wonderful, but more importantly, they look great, are durable, and the flexible sizing means you can mix and match tablets as every one has different dimensions. My go to for sure. 5Tried 3 stands and only kept this one Needing a stand for a small concession using an iPad Mini and Square, I searched all over Amazon and purchased three stands. After receiving them all at the same time, I tested each one individually and only kept this one.Don't let the picture fool you, the base is weighted and VERY sturdy even when rotating 180* from the cashier to the customer. This is somethign you want with your $300+ device sitting inside it. Not a worry with the Kantek.The side clamps hold onto the device securely using spring loaded pressure that is also easy to remove the device after a couple of practice runs. Even with heavy use, the iPad Mini never even slipped.I even put a full sized iPad into the stand and it worked perfectly. 5I returned this stand not because the quality was bad but because it is advertised to work on kindle ... I returned this stand not because the quality was bad but because it is advertised to work on kindle 7". It will hold it no problem but it pushes on the buttons really hard. It covers the power jack too so you can't power it while it's on the stand. I could see afterca week of use that the buttons would get damaged.For other larger tablets it seems to be a good choice. 3Very interesting design on this stand The swivel works well and so does the tilt. My employees end up using the tilt more than the swivel. Basically bending the iPad back which changes its orientation automatically. This allows the customer to sign for a transaction easier. There is significant weight to the base. Would recommend for those with POS systems that do not have their own hardware. 4Get a grip on it......... Greatest support accessory ever made for the IPad! The stand sturdily supports your IPad and will grip when the iPad is in a flip case. The frame turns 360 degrees with 90 degree indents to hold your iPad horizontally or vertical. You can adjust the angle for best viewing and the entire stand rotates 360 degrees on the nicely weighted base. I read with it, find it indispensable in the kitchen when cooking to an on-line recipe. I'm also a model builder and have a second stand on my workbench so I can reference photos/web sites etc. when working on a model. Sturdy, versatile and never disappoints, politicians should be such!! 5Barely fits iPad mini 4 as is, won't work with cases This is almost the perfect stand for POS.Pros:1) The base is wide and weighted to prevent tipping.2) It swivels very smoothly almost like it is on ball bearings.3) Strong yet easily adjustable tilt.4) Very fair price considering better options being in the $100+ range.Cons:1) The side arms are spring-loaded which is nice since normally that means it will fit give or take an iPad mini size, but it barely fits the iPad mini 4 when it is fully extended. Which in my situation means I can't put a case on my iPad mini 4. I spent $600 on this iPad after adding AppleCare and Cellular capability for remote charging cards with Square at trade shows. Our employees will travel with it and move around with it and I want them to be able to easily remove it from a stand so if they have to step away they don't leave the iPad available to easily steal. It is destined to happen that one of our employees will drop the iPad and damage it. That is why I want a case on the iPad even with a stand that holds it. If this thing would stretch just less than an inch more it would have worked perfectly for most any iPad case. I really don't want to put a naked iPad into this thing. I know this wasn't designed to work with cases, but it would have been so easy for them to do it by giving it just a tiny bit more range. 3Almost works too well!! I purchased this to hold my 7" Kindle Fire HDX in Landscape orientation. The stand uses spring-loaded "fingers" to grip the tablet. Most of the assembly that holds the tablet is rubber coated so I'm not worried about the Kindle getting scratched or anything. I have two minor issues. 1. because of where the power connector is on the Kindle, you need to place the device pretty far down in the stand so that the "fingers" don't block the port and cable. The upper fingers are just on the edge of the tablet, it works but your tablet won't be centered in the stand if that matters. 2. The spring loaded fingers are really strong. Getting the tablet into the stand is easy, place one end in the fingers and then pull the opposite fingers out from the center and the tablet drops in. Getting it back out is a little bit trickier, you need to hold the tablet while pulling the fingers out and then pull the tablet out. It's doable but a third hand would definitely make it easier. Trust me, your tablet isn't going to fall out of this thing. It swivels, and tilts forward and backwards with a nicely weighted base so it shouldn't move around. Also, it only took about 2 minutes to assemble, put the stand in the base and install a single screw in the bottom, done. Happy so far. 4
