Absolute Must Have for Gamers on Nintendo Switch If you want to use a gaming headset (headphones with microphone and only one cord) without spending big bucks for a Bluetooth wireless headset you have got to get one of these headset extension cables. Let me explain, I bought a gaming headset for my son to use with his Nintendo Switch from Best Buy, turns out it was made for a PC and they had two separate 3.5mm plugs - one for headphones and one for microphone which the Switch doesn't support. Returned them to Best Buy and got another set, however the new set has only a 1m (3.3ft) cord. The salesperson who helped us at Best Buy explained that it was due to the fact that with PS4 and X-Box One controllers you plug the headset into the handheld controller. He said they made extension cables for them but Best Buy did not carry them and "he'd never seen them in any store". A quick search on Amazon turned up this extension cable from KabelDirekt and it supports the headphone and microphone in one cord which is absolutely necessary for the Switch. My son is absolutely loving the fact that he doesn't have to sit 1m away from his Switch anymore to play Fortnite. The cable is built very well heavy duty insulation and high quality machined connectors on both ends. I bought the 10ft cable and the cost of the headset and extension cable was still about $20 less than any Bluetooth wireless headset out there. 5Click you're connected I've bought a lot of these types of cables over the years. My PC is not near my monitor and I needed additonal length for the gaming headset I just got. My old cable, not KabelDirekt, had served me well for a couple years. But like all of these types of cables, the plug just failed to stay secured.This new cable has an audible and physical "Click" when connection on either side, this ensures that the connection is secure. I've only been running on these things for a couple of days, but I am happy with the build quality. No loss of fidelity, which can be an issue with cheaper cables. Yes this cable will allow your gaming headset, or any other type of headset with a 3.5 mm plug to work with the mic as well. Will update this review after I roll over the cable a couple times. 5Very nice looking ends and sound quality is great I'm always a bit leery of purchasing cheap cables, hahaI've had intermittent problems with 2 headsets (plantronics and now Kingston HyperX) on my macbook pro... I would find that I would have to unplug and plug back in for it to "reset"... but recently my HyperX headphones went permanent with 1/2 volume and microphone noises... found that if I plugged it into a splitter that the audio was fine (split into 2 plugs, 1 audio, 1 mic)... tried it in iPhone and it worked fine, so knew the headphone was fine.Decided to get this cord and so far it is working perfectly... I think my plug on the headphone is just slightly off of what the macbook wants... really strange.Anyway... look really nice... only complaint would be that it is a solid cord rather than the nicer braided cords... but not really a big deal.Both the audio and the mic seem to work very well so far. 5They are both good but there is nothing like wired for true sound I have 2 sets of headphones that are wireless. Then I had bought an extension but it wasn't quite long enough and the sound of the headphone changed slightly. Someone said that it was because of the 12' length, that it would distort the sound but since the headphones still sounded better then the wireless I decided I'd keep looking. I found that this company had the 20' extension at a reasonable price so I got it. WOW, now only was it the perfect length but there was no distortion. I am extremely impressed and will buy from them if I ever need another one. They also email me with contact information if I ever have a question or problem which was very thoughtful. 5No static, 4-poles headset extension cable (audio & microphone) Solid piece of cable. Does what it does and does it well. No bloody static coming from them either, like some other ones I have regrettably experienced. Note: this is a headset extension cable, meaning it has 4 poles which transfer audio (left, right stereo), and the microphone. You can tell by looking at the male end of the extension cable and you can see 3 black stripes encircling around the golden connector. Make sure not to make the mistake of buying a cheaper audio extension cable which has 3 poles and only transmits audio(!) if you want to also extend your headset which has microphone capabilities. 5Solid high quality shielded cable I had been waiting a long time to write a review for this cable. The one I purchased is the 3Foot extension cable. I use it with a set of over the ear bose headphones. It's has a way better quality than the stock cable the headphones come with. I've been using them it for almost a year. For some reason it started failing recently and I would only get sound out of the right headphone. I tried a different cable, the stock one, and the sound worked again.Why I love this kable:-It's thick, it's shielded and it feels like a strong yet flexible quality cable.-This might be a subjective one but it does improve sound quality, at least to me it does. That goes for all kabledirect products I've purchased - they all improve sound quality (to me).-Customer service is amazing. I informed them of my failed cable and what did they do? Apologized, stood by the product and refunded me so I could order a new one. 5* Customer service right there.Thank you Kabledirect for a great product and excellent customer care.-M- 5I bought this so I could listen to my Sirius ... I bought this so I could listen to my Sirius radio & move around my small office.Unfortunately, every time I move, the sound either gets garbled or goes out in one of my earbuds, where it did not do this when I plugged my earbuds into my PC directly.I'm going to have to send them back. :( 1POORLY MADE!! Worked for 10 months til sound started cutting out. I unscrew the metal cover to find that the wires were melded into the molding and threads of the plug material as opposed to running through the CENTER of the plug where they should be. I cut the material more to find a bare, unshielded wire just melted into the material during manufacturing. Looks like a nice quality cable from the outside, but obvious crap on the inside where it counts. The pictures I posted show this clearly. 1Quality and more from an extension cable How can an audio cable extension get a five-star review? Easy. With all the horrible competition out there they came in above all expectations in a multitude of metrics.First, the wire gauge is large enough to carry the signal. Some may think that should be a given, but it is not (and you know it). The wiring is heavy and the insulation is thick and stiff. I anticipate many years' use from this cable.Secondly, the connectors are metal (obviously with insulation), well-made, and feel very sturdy. Like the wiring, this is high-quality material. It connects with a tactile "snap" and I know it won't come loose unless I want it to come loose.I'm connecting a headset-with-microphone across a room and any of the above could compromise the quality coming to me or going out. I've been told there's no loss of signal when I use this cord.The product was shipped promptly and the company inquired quickly after it was delivered, wanting to confirm that it arrived in good shape and on-time.I like this company so much I'm specifically looking for their name when I next buy some sync cables for my iPhone (and an auto charger for the same). Sometimes a company takes their jobs and products seriously. This is the first one I've seen in a long time. I'm surprised I can still get this kind of quality in a modern world where everything (else) is built to break.They've earned some loyalty from me in my first purchase. 5iPhone and earbuds are both apple and work fine together. I need it for a static situation ... Works (audio and i-controls on earbuds) but the female connector seems to be short -- the male headphone plug doesn't seat all the way in. (See attached photo.) If I push it as far as it will go and don't touch it, it works, but any movement and it slips out and all connection is lost. iPhone and earbuds are both apple and work fine together. I need it for a static situation so I'm not bothering to return it, but I wouldn't buy it again.Update: The manufacturer's rep got back to me and had me try it again. I swear I pushed the connection together as hard as I could before, but this time it finally clicked together and now works great. (Maybe over time the female connector loosened up.) Anyway, for their prompt reply and now fine product, I'm upgrading the review to 5 stars. 5
