Customer Reviews

Very nice fitting case Very nice fitting case. Perfect for OEM applications. Plastics are smooth and well fitted. The only problem is that the screws strip easily and should be a slightly larger diameter. But this case is far better than most alternatives. The SD is accessible from outside the case. 5Great case!Probably the best pi case I've come across. It's extremely well made with very tight tolerances. There is no gap around any of the ports, the clamshell fits extremely tightly around the pi and clips in hard. The tolerances are so tight that you have to put the pi in, usb side first, then wiggle it into position then down. I don't see it 'letting go' even with a long drop onto tile. The screws are a bit on the small side, but the threaded bosses are large and have enough material to go to a larger size screw if inclined. But it wasn't an issue for me as the sides clip together so tightly the screws do not do much. The rear of the case is a separate piece (this is a 3-piece case) that sits in slots. It has a small slot with finger reliefs to be able to remove/install the sd card without dis assembly and has a mesh of drilled holes for a bit of air flow. You can see the pi's leds blinking if you look down at an angle. A very nice touch. The only modification I have done to mine was use some spray adhesive and glue some toolbox liner to the bottom of the case. The case is slick plastic and as such, is very slippery when sitting on glass and wood. I didn't want my cables moving the case, so I glued soft foam rubber to the bottom to give it some grip. However, stick-on rubber feet or even hotglue feet would probably work just as well. There is plenty of room for adding heatsinks as well as an rtc chip, although I do not think you can run the pi-cam without slightly modifying the rear panel.Overall I am extremely pleased with this exceptional case at a great price. I simply cannot think of anything I'd like to change on the case, with maybe the exception of adding a fan to the rear. However, the way the case is made, it would be trivial to make a new rear case piece out of a piece of plastic to make room for a fan, capture the sd card from prying fingers, or allow access for the pi camera ribbon or other cables.5Nice Looking and Light Case for Raspberry Pi3I love the JBtek Black Case for my Raspberry Pi3!This case was easy to install, and doesn't look cheap. While this is plastic, it protects my Pi since I use it as a small traveling computer./media player. Since the case covers the computer innards of the Raspberry Pi, airport security has not made an issue of an unfamiliar looking exposed circuit board in my travel bag.The case gives you access to all ports, and it also gives you access to the SD card slot. Since the Pi 3 does not have the spring loaded SD Card Slot, you must first look at the instructions on how to remove the SD card if you need to.5Five StarsCase fit the Raspberry Pi 2 B perfectly.Update: I've found a tiny con. There has been a couple times where I carelessly try to shove an SD card in and it slides in the tiny space between the case and outside the slot requiring I open the case to retrieve the card. Not worth a star, but it would be nice to see a future version tighten up that space so the SD card can only fit into the slot. Pictures added.5Yes, it fits the Raspberry Pi 2. (Using this on a Raspberry Pi 2) I opted for this over some of the other terrible plastic clamshell cases that somehow cost $12+ at places like MicroCenter. At first I had trouble getting some of the ports to align (especially the USB/Network side), and was worried I'd have to snap off a tab or get the Dremel out. The trick seemed to be to use a bit more pressure than I was expecting to seat the board GPO-side up into the bottom plate. Once it's kind of snapped into place, the top cover fits snugly with the same amount of pressure applied. In use, it's a pretty perfect case unless you're trying to make a statement with your RPi2. Holds together, haven't had any overheating that I know of, and the ever-so-slightly rubberized matte finish feels a whole lot better than other cheap options out there. 5Well made and designed case; The Pi fits perfectly.I can see why people are giving this 5 stars. The Raspberry Pi B+ fits perfectly.Very often this type of inexpensive "project box" case is produced to shoddy tolerances. Stuff like ports and seams that don't perfectly line up irk me.In the JBtek, the USB and ethernet ports are absolutely flush with the back of the case. The audio/composite video jack centers perfectly in the case's hole, and even though the HDMI port is offset slightly to the side it's still pretty nicely lined up.There's no overlap along the seams on the side. The front cover also lines up perfectly and is nice and snug. It has a cutout for access to the SD card, which again lines up perfectly. The SD card is slightly inset (~ <1mm) so it won't get pressed accidentally, but it can be easily removed with a fingernail.I can't imagine getting a better case for this price. It's sturdy as well!5Very solid, easy to assemble. Doesn't export "all" ports, depending on how you define them. Wow. It's very solidly built, went together quickly, and has nearly zero flex. It's a great enclosure for the Raspberry Pi. I may consider adding self-adhesive rubber feet. While some might find it obvious, it is worth noting that not "every" port is accessible. This enclosure makes every standard, "board edge" connector available. That's four USB-A ports, RJ45 ethernet, HDMI type-A, 3.5mm audio, micro USB type B power, and microSD. If you need access to the Raspberry Pi-specific connectors on the top of the board, such as the GPIO, Raspberry Pi camera and Raspberry Pi display ports, you probably should consider another case, unless you're willing to do some cutting, or your GPIO project is extremely compact. 5I was pretty happy with itAfter trying several cases I have mixed feelings on this case. When I first got it, I was pretty happy with it, it's a pretty good value. When I began to try other cases I began to notice more how cheap it felt and looked and how poor the air flow was for it. To qualify I run several projects that require my board to be on 24/7, so to me good airflow was important to longevity. I'd recommend this case if you just want a plain case to hold your rpi and you don't have it on too much. Otherwise I think its well worth looking into other options.3'Professional Case'I bought this as an alternative to my SNES style case for my Pi. It is easier to carry into work and have sitting behind my monitor where I can switch over and have RetroPi and it's MAME emulator loaded up. The SNES case? Yeah...too much trouble because it looked exactly like what I wanted it to be!Simple case, doesn't overheat, and camouflages itself in a work setting.5Nice and slim. Perhaps a bit cheap, but fits great, looks great, and overall is rather nice.As with some others, I did have a bit of issue with the screw holes themselves stripping a bit (not the screws.) The plastic is a bit too soft I would guess. Still, it does hold very well between all four of them. Somehow I had only three screws (but I'm assuming I dropped one while unpacking.) I keep quite a selection of screws around in metal "Spam" tins and found one that fit quite well, so they're a standard enough size I'd say. I do also wish that the backplate where the memory card is inserted wasn't completely loose. It should probably be either glued in or even a solid piece as I just don't see any reason for it to not be. You have to kind of hold in in place while shutting the case to ensure it lines up correctly. All that aside though, it fits my RPi2 absolutely perfectly. I love how small and slim it is. I wouldn't recommend it to overclockers as there is almost no airflow beyond those tiny holes on that backplate over the memory card slot, but with heatsinks I think it should be fine at stock speeds hopefully. (Trying to make my RPi2 last.) I felt like the RPi2 fit in there absolutely beautifully with almost no wasted space. The rounded curves are unnecessary technically I guess, but it makes it easier to carry it around if moving it, looks a bit nicer, and generally doesn't take up much extra room anyway.Note that if you need to connect anything to the RPi/RPi2, there are no openings for this and you will have to cut holes or leave the top off entirely. This isn't necessarily the case's fault as it wasn't intended for that. I'm using mine like a computer more than a project device like Arduino/etc, so for me and others like myself this is a non-issue, but it's something to remember when looking at this option. It doesn't have any pre-cut areas for you to snap off or anything -- a rotary tool (such as Dremel, Black & Decker, and etc) with an AlO cutting blade would probably have it open in no time though since, like I said, it's a fairly soft plastic.4Great slim case for your completed Pi project.I like this case. Its one of the slimmest I've seen and doesn't look like a block like the other 2 cases I own. It feels very solid and not cheap when assembled. Some things to consider:It uses 4 screws on the bottom to hold it together while most other Pi cases snap together. It doesn't have any wall mountIt might slide around if you are connecting keyboards, mice, or controllers to it.The ventilation is less than other cases due to size. Consider heat sinks but I've had no problems so far.It has no access to internal ports. Why it still gets 4 stars:Its a solid case that I feel comfortable delivering as a final product to less techie peopleIt looks attractive and feels good to hold if that's your thingIt works very well for its purpose4Great case. All of these cases are pretty much the same exact item, so you really can't go wrong. This happened to be the cheapest one listed at the time, so they got my order. The case fits the Pi very well (Pi 2 B in my case) and is very solid with the supplied screws. Note that you don't really need to install the screws, as the case snaps together fairly well on its own, but they are nice to have on a device that gets moved regularly. The case doesn't look super cheap, being your basic black, so it's not an eyesore and easily blends into the background with the rest of your hardware. All opening fit fairly snug, and I have no issues plugging anything in. You can easily access the SD card, which is nice, and are able to see the power/activity leds through the venting of the case.5The case allows for easy access to the USBThe JBtek case for the Raspberry Pi has allowed me to take my Raspberry Pi along with me outside of my home without worrying about damage to the Pi or to the case. The JBtek casing was simple to mount on the Pi and after securing the four screws included with the case, the Pi was secure and protected. The case allows for easy access to the USB, Ethernet, Micro SD cart slot, HDMI, 3.5mm port, and the Micro-USB power ports. The case does not allow for access to the GPIO pins and other such sections of the Raspberry Pi without disassembling and removing the Raspberry Pi from the case. Overall the JBtek Raspberry Pi Model B cae is a well made protective case that allows for secure and safe transport and does not interfere with normal Raspberry Pi usage.5
