Very expensive looking, for a great price! Just recieved the case and I couldn't be happier. Well made, expensive looking and the color is very pretty. The color is a a little darker than the picture appears. Between magenta and fuscha. But not hot pink as I was expecting. Keys are a little closer than I like but still very usable once you get used to holding your finger closer together. I use to a Surface Pro 3 keyboard so it was easy for me to adjust.I'm a sales rep with a large territory and I recently got an iPad mini for maintaining SAP C4C customer relations notes. It is sooo much easier now that I have this case and keyboard. Now can travel with just the iPad mini and stay contacted via netmail, do expenses via Concur App and enter orders via a Mobile Ordering App all while looking good with an expensive looking case and removable leather clad keyboard. Apatronix also emailed me the day the case was delivered to make sure I was happy with my purchase. If I was not happy... get this, I could reply to that email to let them know. How many companies make it that easy to reach. Maybe it's the small things that make me happy but I appreciate a company who respects my time and doesn't make it hard to reach them if I'm not satisfied. I will definitely recommend to friends and be sure to tell people about my experience with this company when they ask about my great looking case! 5Wonderful Features and Sturdy!! Updated Review added. Great cover/keyboard etc. I was VERY skeptical for the claims this had for the price. Keyboard is AWESOME!! The keys are a little bit raised which makes it far easier for me to use as I have a few "issues" with my hands and the Bluetooth works for my IPhone too! I'm NOT savvy with electronics but my Cell Phone linked immediately but my tablet had a few minor issues which was on my end. GREAT Customer Support. The Case is extremely durable and REALLY protects the IPad. Being Disabled brings a few challenges and trying to keep delicate/high end Tablets, computers etc from getting damaged from accidental drops etc is Paramount! Can't say enough great things. I love the way the keyboard easily separates from the case to use it from a distance. Very happy with this and for the price you really can't go wrong.Update: I can't possibly rave about this! After reading through some other comments about the case not staying closed here's a solution...the mini keyboard keys MUST be facing upward so when case is closed the soft keys on keyboard are sitting against the IPad. This makes the case FIRMLY hold closed even when accidentally thrown down and it hits the bottom end, sides and along "spine" of case without ZERO damage!! Being a wheelchair user this case has been ultimate best ever for protecting valuable electronics. Wishing I had found this a few years ago when I kept accidentally destroying Tablets. 5If you are looking for a durable case with an added feature, this product is for you. It is certainly a durable case for the price, considering it comes with a Keyboard as well. However, the leather case is a little thick around the iPad, causing issues when trying to swipe up or down near the top or bottom. This problem is exacerbated by the iPad sliding down in the case as well.The keyboard is nice and can be moved to two different spots on the case as it is magnetic. It would be nice if the case came with some mouse/touch pad feature on the keyboard.I bought this case in an attempt to replace my laptop, and I think the fact that it has no mouse/touch pad feature is making it difficult for that transition. It is going to take some getting use to, but there may be better options out there.I would recommend this product for someone looking for a durable leather case that, for the price, comes with a nice bonus feature of a keyboard. 3Great value for the money. The only reason it receives 4 stars instead of 5 is because it's just a little thicker than some of the other cases with keypads out there. But in every other respect, it's a better product. It's extremely well protected, while not crushing the mini, as was the situation with another keypad I purchased.I additionally appreciate how you can separate the keypad from the rest of the case. This doesn't seem like a big deal, but is really nice when you want to type, but don't want to stare at a screen that's too close. You can prop up the screen in one position, while typing wherever you like. Very convenient.When closed up the unit looks sharp, even though it's maybe a little thicker than my old unit. My daughter loves it as well and is working to steal it for her iPad mini. Worth the purchase. 4Mixed comments on this one. I have mixed feelings about this keyboard case. Positives: The keypad is quality and I like the detachable aspect. The case looks and feels solid. Negatives: The magnetism is weak to hold the case closed. The iPad mini is not held very tightly in the case such that the iPad drops down enough such that there is not enough room at the bottom of the screen to swipe up to bring up the control center. At least in the version I have, the iPad does not turn off when the case is closed. I have to turn the iPad off before closing or the battery will drain. For the price, it's ok, but not worth more than an average review. Follow up: Well, I got an email from Alpatronix saying to contact them as follows: "Based on your explanation in regards to your device's space bar works intermittently, you may have received a defective unit. We would greatly appreciate the opportunity to turn this experience into a more positive one." Really? Unfortunately my comment had nothing to do with the space bar ... The keyboard works fine. It is a design flaw in the case, at least for the IPad mini version 1. See my comments below ... I dropped the rating to 2 stars because of a number of issues with the Alpatronix compared to the Anker. UPDATE: I have replaced the Ipad Mini v1 with the latest version that is slightly larger and does fit better into the Alpatronix. Still the issue of sliding down but a couple pieces of tape does solve that issue. Updated the rating to 3 stars. 3Couldn't have chosen a better case My friend spent $100 on the ClamCase Pro for her iPad Mini 4. I wanted something similar for my iPad Mini 2, but in a lower price range. I looked at several different keyboard cases from Logitech, ZAGG, ClamCase, etc. and ultimately decided to try this one because of the reasonable price, Alpatronix's return policy, and the positive reviews.I couldn't have chosen a better case. It's amazing. Alpatronix even threw in a 50% rebate and instructions on how to activate a 1-year warranty.If you're used to carrying around a slim iPad, the case might seem slightly bulky at first. The keyboard is easy to configure and comes with a USB charging cable. The keyboard is also removable, and personally, I think the magnet to attach it to the case is pretty strong and holds the keyboard in place, although others seem to be having trouble with it. My iPad Mini 2 fits snugly, just be sure to tightly fold the strap over the side of your iPad to make sure it won't fall out. Some of the punctuation keys on the keyboard are placed differently from a normal keyboard, such as the semicolon, which is next to the spacebar.In comparison with my friend's case: $30 vs $100, identical keyboards except for the placement of the punctuation keys, you have the ability to remove the keyboard, and the leather case provides more protection for your iPad. Both great cases, but why pay more? Thanks so much, Alpatronix!!! 5Worked great initially Originally it worked great and I didn t have any connectivity issues. It does make the iPad mini significantly larger in thickness but I expected that. Unfortunately it suddenly stopped working just over a year. It doesn t charge or connect.I did contact customer service and it was not helpful. I bought this item Sept 5, 2016. In October of 2017 it stopped working and wouldn t charge. They are advertised on Amazon as having a 2 year warranty. I contacted the company and they said the 2 yr warranty only pertains to those purchases in January 2017 or later. This is ridiculous it barely lasted a year AND they are now offering a 2 yr warranty but apparently since I bought it 4 mo earlier they won t do anything about t. 1Classy design, rechargeable keyboard I had been searching around for a keyboard for my mini iPad for a few days, looking over reviews for them and trying to decide what would suit me best for a keyboard while I travel to conferences. I decided on this product because the price was very reasonable and the reviews seemed to be fairly good. Here is my assessment of this product.Pros:- I love the design of the case. I tend towards sleek, classy and understated items. The black leather fits the bill with no crazy designs or colors. I had a leopard print case on it before and it drew a lot of comments, not bad but can be distracting if you are using the iPad to work.- The keyboard is rechargeable, so no need to search around for batteries. The battery life is stated on the box as 120 hours. Its probably accurate because I have yet to see a low battery signal come up on it. I used it the whole time at the conference (5 days long with a couple long days of travel) and I did not need to charge it once.- Keyboard is attached with magnets so you can change the position of it to however you are the most comfortable.- Have not had problems with connection issues, even when I remove the keyboard from the case and write from a few feet away.- Case holds my iPad securely and has openings for the camera that does not alter picture quality.Cons:- Since the keyboard is attached with magnets sometimes it doesn't seat properly or stay in place.- Small keyboard so if you are used to a normal key spacing it will take some getting used to. Not a con really but you have to get used to it. The space bar is small so sometimes I would hit other keys.-Took me a while to find a comfortable angle and way of setting my iPad so i could see the screen and still type comfortably. There really isn't a stable way to angle the screen.For the money I think this is a fantastic investment. I have had it for over a month and use it often. 4logitech or alpatronix? for my ipad such a lifesaver! i didnt even know these bluetooth keyboards even existed i always thought people were on their laptops until i actually messed around with my friends that also had an ipad mini and i noticed his looked nothing like mine lol. i actually bought 2 different keyboard + covers, the 1st one being logitech and my newest one by aplatronix. they both have a similar feel to them in terms of what their purpose is ment to do, and thats type on the keyboard which runs alot smoother than typing each indiviual button on screen if you didnt have one. depending on how fast you are with a keyboard these products can really make a difference in typing long letters or essays (what i was doing). they both sync up to your ipad wirelessly via bluetooth and keeps a strong and stable connection throughout. a micro hdmi cable charges the keyboard in a few hours. the major differences between these twologitech- holds your ipad with a hinge on top and a magnetalpatronix- has a fully enclosed leather case that surrounds the ipad and has a nice snug fitlogitech- keyboard is built in with the casealpatronix- keyboard is held by magnets inside the case. can be removed to get a greater distance between you and your ipadlogitech- case overall is a good quality and build. closes like a bookalpatronix- case is smooth, also great quality, has an extra flap that goes over. closes like a portfolioi have enclosed pics of both products for you to compare yourself. they both seem to last a good amount of time without needing to recharge but the battery life seems better on this alpatronix one. the biggest CON i have for the logitech case is the magnet is starting to lose its strength and from time to time it falls off. most because im laying in bed watching movies over me and i think the weight of the ipad is heavier than the limit it can hold. stronger magnets would have been appreciated. biggest CON i have for the alpatronix is the actual case that houses the ipad. i noticed when i tried to take pictures alittle bit of my frame was cutoff because of the hole in comparison to where the camera is. its not a huge problem but it is worth noting that you do have to adjust it from time to time depending on where and how you are positioned. all in all , ill grant the alpatronix case superior to the logitech because of the durability seems to be good, the ipad is fully protected and has no chance of sliding off, keyboard feels great no buttons get stuck or not work, the fact that you can seperate the keyboard from your ipad is a plus. i did receive this item at a discount but it doesnt change my honest opinion of this item. if i was ever asked to choose between these 2 products again i wouldnt hesitate to pick alpatronix everytime. 5Good Quality with Design Flaws When closed, this case is quite thick, which makes it difficult to slip easily into a bag. The mechanism for keeping the iPad in place is a thin flap along the bottom (when the case is horizontal), which causes the iPad to slip down a little. Due to the way this flap folds, it is also somewhat awkward to take the iPad in and out of the case. Finally, the keyboard is very compact to the point that typing must be slowed down in order to be accurate. (As a fast typist I find this extremely frustrating! I have used other keyboards of similar dimensions just fine, but the spacing on this model is not well optimized. The trim around the edge could be reduce to increased key spacing, for example.) Other than this, the case looks nice and professional. The ability to fold so that the screen is propped up horizontally is useful, and the battery holds charge well.One other thing to note, is that PU leather has a tendency to flake off after a few years. That is just the nature of the material. I knew that buying this, but it is something to take into consideration for shoppers seeking a case that will still look good 2-3 years down the line. 4
