Customer Reviews

Innovera Wall Mount Surge Protector, 6 pivoting outlets This unit is very nice quality. It attaches securely to your wall outlet with the included screw. If your wall socket does not have a center screw, this unit will not attach securely to it. Nor will any other unit. It has lights showing that it is grounded & protected. The specs are very good! I uploaded a photo of the box showing the specs. It is rated for 2160 joules. The MOV clamping voltage is 330V, which is great! The rating should be 330V to 500V and no higher. The lower, the better. The plugs swivel nicely, providing added space behind furniture, instead of a plug end sticking out from the wall. It has a product replacement warranty as well as a connected equipment warranty of $40,000. BUT...be sure to register the unit within 14 days of purchase or the warranty will be void! I initially purchased 2 units, but have since purchased 4 more. I would recommend this product, based on the apparent quality of the unit. 5Very Good Quality and High Joule Capacity I ordered 2 of these surge protectors. One for a hi-tech refrigerator and the other for a hi-tech A/C unit. Both protectors worked fine right of the box. I wanted at least 2K Joules of procection in a wall mount unit and found that these are rated for 2160 Joules. I discovered while shopping that some units are rated as low as 90. The Innovera 71651 is very well made and has a screw that replaces the one that secures the cover plate for the electrical outlet. This screw holds the protector firmly in place. The indicator lights are also a nice feature as they show protection status and if the outlet is properly grounded. Highly recommended! 5Just what I needed I have 9 of these and just bought a 10th for use all around the house. They reduce the need for multiple extension cords and/or strips for spots that have clusters of electronics/lamps & miscellaneous appliances needing power, giving me an additional 4 receptacles per duplex wall outlet (it plugs into the top receptacle and covers both, but gives you 6 in return). They are grounded, offer some surge protection, lay flat against the wall, and each receptacle is adjustable to accommodate those ubiquitous power bricks. Fortunately all my wall plates have the center screw available to screw this right in. Perfect! 5Wall-Mounted, 6 Moveable Outlets, 2160j Protection-Nice! I have surge protectors in all of my outlets, and I've found, over the years, what I do and don't like.I DO like the wall-mounted type, but ONLY if they screw into the outlet (as these do); otherwise, the weight of the plugs inserted into the protector can pull it out of the wall, especially if they're heavy (like the kind for ScoopFree Auto-Scoop Litter Boxes) (Actually, looking at a surge protector that I haven't yet replaced with this model, it only has 2 normal plugs plugged into it, and it's tilting forward out of the wall as well)Next, I really like the swivel option, as it can accommodate a greater range of sizes and shapes of plugs; if one plug is large and/or square, just use one of the center plugs and pull it facing forward, so it doesn't get in the way of the other 2 plugs on the same side. (All 6 of the plug outlets on this item can move forward/back, which gives you more options).Last, but not least, this protector had the highest joule-rating (2160 j) (2000+ joules recommended for HDTV, 1000-2000 for laptops, but I figure "better safe than sorry", I'd rather have too much protection than not enough!) in this price range that I could find after a quick search on Amazon. 5Space Saver Bigger than I expected, but still a great space saver. Use it in the bathroom where my electric razor and toothbrush have large plugs that stick out about 4 inches. This allows me to have them against the wall, instead of being in the way. Plus it give me extra plugs in the bathroom.Since the bathroom plug is GFI, I was not able to use the center screw to secure it to the electric socket, but it does stay pretty firmly in the socket without the screw. I removed the screw. 4Rotating sockets = genius! ** SEE UPDATE ** Why didn't I discover this sooner? The independently pivoting sockets are genius! Belkin makes a similar product, Belkin Pivot Wall Mount Surge Protector with 6 Outlets, but with a lower protection rating at only 1080 joules. This one is double (2160 joules). I'm not really sure what that means, but I like the idea of extra protection. Currently, I have this protecting some high-end electronics like a Denon audio receiver and some game consoles. The only issue I had is that my wall sockets don't have a hole in the middle for mounting and stability. That means when plugging and removing cords and adapters from the outlet, I have to hold onto the surge protector. It's a very minor inconvenience and no fault of Innovera.Highly recommendedUPDATE: 5/17/16 - I am downgrading this product to 1 star. I tripped the circuit while trying to turn on a defective lamp. There's NO WAY to reset the breaker. This whole thing went in the trash. A surge protector is supposed to work more than once, yes? 1Beats the Infomercial product!! My wife showed me the infomercial on TV for another brand and I started investigating. After reading reviews of the infomercial model and the complaints of them pulling out of the wall I found this one. I ordered 2 pf the Innovera 71651 and have been very pleased with them. There are several types on Amazon and 1 feature that I was impressed with is that this has a screw that secures it to the outlet, the others just plug in and thus can be pulled out easily. 5THE PIVOTING SOCKETS ARE REALLY GREAT I purchased these for our kitchen, mainly for the pivoting sockets, more than the surge suppression. The white goes well with our kitchen colors. Since each outlet pivots individually, it makes the counter a lot neater. I can have plugs face left and right, and a plug-in emergency light faces forward. The plugs lie flat against the wall, instead of sticking out and then the wire bending back toward the wall. Just a note, these are really designed for the older standard "round" outlets. The newer "square" modular type outlets will work, but the center screw that locks the unit down will not, as those modular outlets DO NOT have the face plate mounting screw hole in the center of the standard 2 outlet configuration, but rather just above and below the modular outlets. It will work, but you can't "lock" the unit down. 5Remove from list Remind me later Wall Mount Surge Protector, 6 Outlets, 2160 Jules Surge protection. I like it. I haven't put it to use yet. I need a similar device with the plugs on the left to be pointing up, and those on the right to be pointing down, and the UP sockets to have one circuit, and the DOWN sockets to be a second circuit. I have a switched outlet that splits the socket in 2. Making one socket switched, and the other normally active. I'd also like to see this with resettable MOV surge protection for both outlet sides, and circuit breaker for added protection. I definitely like the fact that you placed the MOV device in a fire protected area to prevent a fire in the event of being triggered. I wish other companies would do this with this item in their electrical outlet tap devices. I have not placed the device yet only because I'm looking for a similar device that has 2-circuits as noted earlier. Thanks for a good product. 4The perfect solution for me I have had the first one for a couple of years and it does exactly what I wanted it to do so now I have another.Allows your plugs/cords to go straight up (or down) the wall if your own outlet is oriented horizontally, or straight right (or left) along the wall if your own outlet is oriented vertically. And you can orient any one (or all) of the six outlets so your plugs/cords come straight out of the wallFor my application, in a kitchen, it is absolutely perfect, as my microwave/electric kettle/toaster plugs/cords go straight up the wall to their respecdtive appliances (sitting on shelves above the outlet), while my coffee grinder and my blender can just be plugged directly into outlet. And it's a surge protector! 5
