Customer Reviews

Disappointing, to say the least. This flashlight proved to be too good to be true.PROS: When it worked (briefly), it had a nice, high output beam. The adjustable focus actually felt good and worked well. Superb overall structural quality - did not bend, crack, or rattle. Rubber seals were tight and positioned properly.BIG CON:Maybe I just got a lemon, but the switch on my flashlight was dead on arrival. No amount of actuation force would illuminate the LED, however using the switch mechanism from a different flashlight worked well enough to debunk a faulty diode. The switch itself appeared to be physically intact on the exterior, but it's apparent that there is an internal flaw preventing the conductive parts of the switch from contacting like they're supposed to. It's unfortunate, because I really wanted to like this pen light. Everything else about it is ideal, to the point where if the switch was sold individually, I would risk buying a replacement. Sadly, it's really not worth the effort to try and return the item for exchange, and I will not be dealing with this seller again. The lack of quality control for a product that's so simple just puts a bad taste in my mouth. 1constant dimming and brightening I have been using this sparingly at work for a couple of weeks. The first week everything was fine but after that the light dims ad brightens constantly which is a pain when im trying to focus on things in dark places. I am really disappointed in how quickly it turned to junk with all the 5 star reviews praising it. I changed the batteries and it had no effect. The contacts for the batteries are not corroded and have full contact so this just seems like lake of a quality product. I recommend looking elsewhere for a reliable pen light. 1Great flashlight with ZOOM - yes! Great flashlight. Works well. 2 levels of bright - very bright and medium. The zoom is awesome, this is the only small penlight I know of with zoom ability , the switch works well and easy to push, not hard like some of the other brands. I l like that you can step thru the levels with a half push while light is off then turn it on to that level. Weight is good a bit heavier than others and indicates it is well constructed. They didn't skimp on material. Tail piece has eye for wrist strap. 51 YEAR REVIEW Bought this flashlight last year in October because I needed a small flashlight quick and cheap. Previously had a "Coast" which failed me in two months. I am an aircraft mechanic so this get use everyday at work and then some when I come home to tackle any household tasks I need to do.Let a friend borrow it to do some work on his car. Turns out he lost it down in the engine bay for a few days, which of course we had some good thunderstorms during that time. He just drove around with the flashlight in there somewhere getting drenched. He finally found it and thought I would have to order another flashlight. NOPE. Worked like a charm the second I pushed the switch! Most of the other mechanics I work with have "Streamlight" flashlights this same size and the beam and output seem about the same. I enjoy this light better as it has the function for a wide or narrow beam. My batteries seem to last longer than those "Streamlights" as well. My flashlight has also hit the cement a few times, but it just keeps going! The only thing I might change in this light is the strobe function. It's just kind of obnoxious if I am ever cycling through the high and low setting, then I have to get past the strobe to have a nice productive beam again. Someone else might say different as they have a use for it, but I do not.All in all, I definitely recommend this flashlight and will possibly be ordering more! 5This is a great little pen flashlight that is very very bright especially ... This is a great little pen flashlight that is very very bright especially when Focused. It feels solid and works well with my rechargable batteries. It fits tightly in the pen pocket of my uniform. I have yet to use it in the field but if I have any issues I will report back. 5almost perfect i carry carry and use a flashlight everyday for work (i do maintenance/mechanic work). this light is really good so far as of this post i have drained 2 sets of batteries alkaline and nmh and have been happy with the light so far.pro:small and lightgood light outputlight beam is focusable by turning the end of the light.uses easy to find aaa batteriesdecent run timeconsi don't like the strobe function - i would rather have a third low (10 lumen) mode or slow flashing modeno memory - doesn't turn on to the last mode usedi really want to give this light 5 stars, but i really hate the strobe mode that much. i just don't understand the need for strobe on flashlights the only time i use strobe mode is to freak out sleeping coworkers.edit:don't expect to get 7/14 hour run time. i have tested the light with my rechargeable eneloop and i get about 1 hour on high and 3.5 hours on low. on alkaline batteries i probably get 1.5 maybe 2 hrs on high and 5-6 hours on low, but i would rather have a lower run when i can reuse the batteries. 4I like everything about this flashlight except the strobe feature I like everything about this flashlight except the strobe feature. I keep accidentally turning it on in that mode and it drives me nuts. But this light replaced my new but defective Coast G20 light that has a very crappy switch which doesn't work until you press it 10+times (common complaint). So I'll stick with my new Infray light as it's much more reliable. 4Awesome pocket light! This pen works great! I m a pediatric night nurse, I use this light to basically help me see in rooms so I don t wake my patients up. I would never use it on someone s eyes, that s just cruel! Please don t use this light for pupil assessments! I like that I can control the diameter by twisting the end of the light clockwise and counterclockwise. It s been very beneficial! It s even bright enough to use for IV starts. 5More value than cost I was looking for a very small lightweight flashlight that I could clip on my belt or in edge of my pocket. I carry a multitul and a light with me all the time for my job and use them daily. Currently I sometimes carry and sometimes don't becuase of bulkiness my current led flash light that uses a 18650 battery. don't get me wrong it is a great flash light but just bulkier than feels comfortable in my pocket or I have to have a dedicated pouch on my belt along with the one already there for the multi-tool.. just annoying. I had looked at various options over the last few months and had decided to try a penlight. Based on specs and reviews they either seemed not very bright or extremely expensive for a bright quality one. Eventually I ran across this one that got decent if not super reviews on light quality and good reviews on the physical case and minimal focus/light modes. For 15 dollars I am very happy. So far the value and quality exceed what I paid which leaves me happy with it. The twist focus seems to work well. It isn't crisp at the edges but goes from a narrow beam that is to narrow and bright to easily use up close to a very decent brighter but more diffuse beam at the other end of the spectrum. I tend to use it at about the middle of its focal range. This thing is bright enough to hurt you if you get it shined in your eyes. So far in a month or two of use I carry it about 5 times more often than the larger one I was using. I haven't had to recharge the AAA Panasonic eneloop rechargeable batteries I am using in it.My happiness scale with it is in the value and function. It is high enough I have recommended it to several people when talking lights. It doesn't leave me with a fan boy high over the quality or features or brightness but at the same time I have yet to be irked at any feature or lack of feature, quality issue, battery life etc. This thing is a simple, cheap workhorse that just does its job competently if not flashily. :)ps... it's ok if you have to bash me for the punny 5it's very annoying. Now that I know how it works Very small and thin. Fits well in your shirt pocket. Very bright. The only problem is that you have to cycle through the flash mode to get back to the steady beam mode. If it starts flashing when you don't expect it, it's very annoying. Now that I know how it works, not that big a deal. 4
