    It s been nice to have peace of mind This gave us a view of our boys room that allowed us to see the room in its entirety. It s been nice to have peace of mind. 5Not Useful I don't find myself using this at all. It is only useful if you can record which the system does not do. The screen is so small that if there is any activity you are unlikely to see it and because the view is so spread out. 3Improves View and Cost Effective Perfect upgrade part for what I needed it to do. See picture for how the view of my crib changed between the regular lens and the wide angle lens. 5Wide Angle Lens is HORRENDOUS in night vision mode Be warned -- the wide angle lens in night vision is terrible!As their customer service rep has noted, there are issues with the night vision on the wide angle lens. I went through customer service to fix (paid to send the units back) and nothing changed when I got the new ones. Eventually they just gave me a full refund b/c the night vision picture was useless. I will say their customer service is awesome, but it doesn't help a sub-par product. The problem is, the wide angle lens is sold separately so you don't order it till you need it (as a toddler). By then, you've sunk the money into the camera unit(s). Hopefully this will save others from the same aggravation we went through.See the screenshot, not even close compared to the Amcrest Pro Shield that we now use. Plus, the pro shield has a ton more features and was 50 bucks a camera. 1The ability to change the lens is fantastic. I don't really need this yet The ability to change the lens is fantastic. It was so easy to put on you just twist the one that comes on there off and twist this one on. I love that we can see his whole room in one view to see where he is. Helps give me piece of mind. The picture I attached shows how we can see his whole room on the monitor. 5Can Include most of the room & Night Vision works great! I purchased the wide angle lens because I had to install the camera at the very top of my wall at the ceiling in order to get the whole crib in the picture.I was worried about the night vision due to other reviews, but the manufacturer stated that issue was fixed. It definitely is fixed because I do not see a different between the regular lens or night vision lens.Pros:- I could install the camera lower and get the whole crib and additional parts of the room- By installing it lower I could accurately use the temperature feature of the camera- Night vision and regular vision works great- Did not affect the quality of the picture at allCons:- The night vision does have a 'hot spot' but this is more of a camera con rather than because of the actual lens. I had this same 'hot spot' using the regular lens as well.Overall it works great and I absolutely needed this wide angle lens for this camera in order to use it the way that I wanted to. 5Customer Service is AMAZING! Works amazing!...It was so good, that I decided to purchase the wide angle lens. My review is below:Pros - Easy Setup, just have to "link" camera unit to hand held unit, took about 2 minutes - Clarity, in the dark, you can clearly see the crib and baby, its black and white in the dark, but when the light comes on its color. - Can Zoom in if needed as well as PAN, TILT, etc...amazing! - Changing lens out is basically like screwing in a light bulb...super easy - Distance!...we live on the third floor, and I have taken the hand held unit all the way to the mailboxes, which is downstairs, outside, about 150 feet away....and it still has signal....between walls, elevator, and sidewalk. However as soon as I pass the mailboxes, then it looses signal...but 150 feet is pretty good.Cons - My wife can not live without it. Why is this a con? - see belowAmazing Customer Service! - Basically last week, the battery was not holding the charge. So i contacted customer service, they suggested few methods and that did not work. Gladys one of the CSR, stated that i was out of the warranty period, HOWEVER they were willing to replace unit. I just had to ship them my old one!. BUT again, here is the con - My wife can not live without it! - so I could not send my old one back because it would be a couple of days we would not have a monitor. So I mentioned this to Gladys, and within 24 hours, she replied back to me stating they were sending me a replacement, and that they were trusting me to send my unit back. WOW!, who does that nowadays!. That blew my mind. I had to write a review!. I had to give this company props!...Anyway, I received the replacement yesterday and connected it. Works Great!...and Yes I shipped my old unit out today! :)Lastly, ironically, on the news today I heard all these fake reviews that have been hitting Amazon lately, and I want to say, this is not Fake, I am actually an owner of the DXR-8 camera as well as the wide angle lens. I DID NOT GET PAID TO DO THIS REVIEW!. I just wanted to let people know what a GREAT COMPANY this is and what an awesome CSR Gladys was. 5I love it when my lengthly research pays off! I am what most call a "perfectionist"...but we all know that I AM THE NORMAL ONE and it is the rest of the world that is mediocre at best. :-) I have a huge amount of faith in most "amazon prime" products, usually looking for those that are "amazon's choice" and having > 200 reviews of 4 stars or more is usually a good starting point as well. I have had such great experiences, time and time again, and encourage others to use that system. I am a first time father and don't have much knowledge with the world of baby products...until now! This camera unit and monitor is very well designed from all the important factors detailed in their product information. The most amazing thing about this unit for me, is its INCREDIABLE RANGE! Our home is on 3 acres, my parents own the 3 acres next to us, we have a total of 5 buildings and the entire area is heavily wooded with trees.......I was able to find at least one spot in each room of each building where I could place the monitor and get 3 (out of 4) signals bars! I am extremely hard to impress, but this product has impressed me, across the board! 5
