so it will really fit any area and the tension spring is fine, but the way the individual rods join together It has several different possible lengths, so it will really fit any area and the tension spring is fine, but the way the individual rods join together, they just slide into each other, so there's nothing stopping it from rotating side to side. It's not really a structural issue, it's completely secure, it just feels really cheap and flimsy because of this. If they had flattened one side of the rod or used a set screw to hold the rods together, this would have been a much better product. I haven't had it long enough to know how well it'll hold up over time 3Great shower caddy! Bought this to replace a seriously rusted up corner shower caddy. Very pretty and easy to assembly too!! Love the 4 shelves! Plenty of room for Costco size shampoo bottles, loofahs, etc! My razor doesn t quite fit it securely, but not a problem for me. I could always just place it on the shelf. Gave a 4 for durability bc I ve only owned it for 3 days. 5Cheap, poor quality and wobbly I put this together and installed it and returned it the same day. The pole pieces do not screw together, just set on top of each other so they fall off as your're trying to install it unless you have a long enough arm span or a second person to help hold it together while putting it in place. The screw holes in the shelves are poorly machined and had pieces of metal hanging off that I had to remove. Next, the plastic sleeves are so tight that it completely scraped the finish off of the poles while sliding the shelves on, leaving large gashes on the cheap silver paint finish. Once installed, it feels completely flimsy and the entire thing wobbles and the joints flex with the slightest touch. It took only a slight bit of water in the corner of the shower to cause it to start losing grip at the base. I don't feel safe using it in the shower myself, let alone with children who could easily be hurt as this falls out of place or breaks at the seams. 1Pass on this item, go for higher quality I mistakenly didn't install this for many months. Upon installation it is clearly junk:- The spring mechanism is not strong and sticks in the down position often- The mechanism (set screw) to attach the baskets doesn't have a firm stop you can keep going and it bends the pole- I had one basket break off from the stem- The quality of finish looks really cheap on the pole. The baskets seem ok.I installed it yesterday, today it is in the garbage can. I have never said that about another product that I have reviewed. 1Surprisingly good quality, but must be assembled carefully. I've actually purchased this item (in silver) 3 times, over the course of 3 different apartments. I've never had issues with any spontaneous breakages or other issues, although I generally do not fill the shelves much more than pictured above (I've probably put at most 4 full bottles of shampoo, of the size pictured, on a shelf with no issues). A couple notes from my experiences:- *The finishes are nice and appear stable.* They aren't super fancy, but the quality of the poles seems consistent and the baskets themselves haven't had any defects, as far as I've seen.- *The rack doesn't move well between locations.* The first time I purchased, I moved apartments shortly after and tried to readjust the top pole for a difference of about 2 inches (between the two apartments). The rack was noticeably unstable after the move, but that may also have been due to banging around during the move itself.- *The item needs to be assembled very carefully.* Having assembled this item 3 times, I've learned some things about what works and doesn't. First off, it's consistently taken me under 30m to assemble, whether careful or not. The first and last times I've assembled it, I've carefully read the instructions, consistently measuring against the wall and readjusting as assembling so that the shelves don't tilt up, down, left, or right. It's not very difficult to get this correct, but it definitely needs attention (I could absolutely see the shelves wearing down/breaking if attached in a tilted state and used that way). The second time, I thought I knew what I was doing, and ended up with tilted, slightly unstable shelves which were hard to fix because of wearing down from over-tightening. Regarding that: the screws start pressing into the inner pole really quickly when screwing in, and actually only need to go into their holes about halfway. This drove me a bit crazy (I like things flush, and I was tempted to just push them all the way through), but I definitely felt the shelves felt safer when not overly tightened. If you overtighten a screw and then take it out after, the pole instead is clearly compressed/damaged.All-in-all, I found this to be a surprisingly reliable and nice-looking item for a noticeably lower price than others. 5Excellent quality product- no regrets So far have had this for about 10 months and it has held up wonderfully. I sprayed it liberally with clear spray paint to prevent rust (several layers with time between coats and made sure to hit every area)- used up about 1/2-3/4 of a spray can on it. It was easy to assemble, easy to put the shelves wherever you wanted and was one of the few quality tension rod corner products that fit the dimensions for my shower with a tub base (others were too tall- the minimum size wouldn't let it fit in the space). So far I'm happy to report that there is no rust at all and the shelves have not slipped in the slightest. To be fair I haven't overloaded them or put excessive pressure on the shelves but I do have at least a couple pounds worth of items on two or three of the shelves. It is also on the side opposite the shower head so it does not a direct stream of water but still gets some and a lot of steam/moisture. I spent quite a bit of time researching shower corner caddies and I have no regrets with this one. I wanted something durable, tasteful, and inexpensive (for the quality) and I feel that this was just what I needed. I didn't want to buy something that I expected to break/rust within a year or that the shelves didn't hold in place. Other items available are less expensive but seemed to have these as common but expected flaws. I expect my shower caddie will last at least several more years at current rate. I'm trying to think of something negative but honestly cannot think of anything- maybe that it was still time-consuming to spray paint it? but I feel that it was well worth the investment just in case. Not sure what durability would be without the clear coat. 5When it breaks, don't expect the company to help you This is stylish and space-saving, but it's absolutely not durable and the company does not stand behind its product. After less than three months of regular use, one of the shelves snapped off mid-shower (one of the shelves with the little prongs on the bottom that are intended to hold shaving razors).I called Amazon to ask for a replacement part and they told me to contact the manufacturer. I emailed the manufacturer, and they never responded to me. Now my shower shelving unit looks ugly and doesn't hold what I need it to.I'm really disappointed; for the two and a half months that it worked, I really liked it. 1Super flimsy and unstable I would give it -100 stars if I could! It broke the first time I was showering and smashed into my leg! Super flimsy and unstable!!!!!! Throwing it out! 1Not sturdy enough... As pretty as this organizer is, if you have high ceilings it needs to have a bracket in the middle to keep it in place. I'm afraid that it may fall on my kids in the shower if they start playing there. I found a couple of suction cups to put around the pole but it's not a permanent solution... 2Not worth the price. Modify for best results. I bought 2 of these, used. Looks like almost everything is there. After putting one together I came up with these thoughts, the poles could be a stronger metal, I ran in the set screws and the tension bar wouldn't work till I back them out. The baskets look nice but I'm afraid they'll fail under the weight of bottles etc. and daily use. It needs rubber footing and a stronger spring to hold it in place. Finally, it comes with 2 long middle poles and 1 short. It should come with 3 different size poles to allow for more flexibility. The long was an inch and a half too long and the short was 8 inches too short. I like the way it looks but will have to modify if I want to keep it. 3
