Customer Reviews

Great for Oven Glass Clean-up I've tried all the You-Tube and Pinterest suggestions for cleaning the glass face on the inside of my oven. All the baking soda, vinegar and magic eraser in the world couldn't remove years of baked on grease. But this small, easy-to-hold, tool did the trick in just 10 minutes. Just use a little water spread a little atop the glass to keep the razor from scratching the glass. It was amazing how smooth the razor edge rode across the glass and removed all the baked-on grease, apple pie drippings, whatever. My glass is now like new and with hardly any effort! 5Most Basic Model Very thin, stores flat unlike other versions. Razors are difficult to install, but not dangerously difficult. Not super comfortable to hold.Simple, exactly what is expected. You could spend extra money on a more comfortably gripped tool, but I just needed something to help deep clean my glass cooktop every so often. If you are planning to spend a lot of time using this (like a painter who would use it to remove paint mistakes from windows, or something) then it's probably worth it to splurge on a more comfortable version. I'll probably spend 10 minutes a month holding this, so the slim and more easily stored design was my main draw. 4Great tool for the price. Fantastic little tool for the price. I did not have any issues loading the blade or sliding the lever, and I do not believe the blade is likely to fall out as some other reviewers feared. It is surprisingly solid for the price. I used it for removing stickers from windows and convex mirror inserts from the side mirrors of a used car I purchased, but I can see it being useful for many other things in the future. 5Okay but won't buy again This think will do what it is supposed to do but it is not really 'heavy duty'. My main issue is that there is a rectangular hole stamped in the middle of the handle where a matching raised piece of metal that holds the blade slides into to lock it into place. It certainly locks the blade firmly but hole is a bit malformed so it is hard to unlock and pull the blade back in. Consequently, the knife gets left in the 'out' position and becomes a hazard when pulling it out of the tool box, etc.. I am not sure if this is a design defect or just poor manufacturing. Either way, I am not going to throw this out but when I buy the next one, I will get a different brand 3Works, but could be improved. This is just your basic scraper (which is exactly what I wanted, so I don't mean that as a negative comment). I've owned it for five months and have used it on several occasions. It does its job, but it has two problems with it that my other scraper didn't have.First, the blade isn't held in place tightly. It will literally fall out of the holder if I tilt the scraper on its side (with the slide fully extended, of course). I might have considered that a "quick-change feature" except for the second problem. The slider mechanism doesn't lock in position when the scraper is in use. That is, the blade is either fully retracted or it is fully extended in the blade changing position (there's no intermediate position that exposes the blade only, without also exposing its holder); and if it's fully extended, the blade tends to fall out because of the first problem I mentioned. So what you have to try to do is hold the slider rigidly in the position you want with your thumb WHILE you're using the scraper. It's harder than it sounds... if the blade encounters any resistence, it is pushed backward into the housing, and your natural reaction is to apply more pressure with your thumb, and then when the resistence goes away the pressure from your thumb pushes the slider fully forward and the next thing you know you're looking for the blade on the ground, after having fallen out.I haven't sliced open any fingers yet, so I don't think the above problems are a safety concern, but obviously they make the scraper more difficult to use. As I said, though, it does the job, and it does it fairly well. 3Amazing and must have!! I can't remember the number of times I have spilled milk, chai tea or some liquid which has burnt of my stove top and I have cursed myself for it. But after i got this at least my stove thanks me.Pros:-Cleans surface completely, no stains left.-additional razors come handy and each razor lasts way too long.-the price has gone up now, I got it really cheap but still a great buyCons:-I found little difficult to insert and remove the blades. Very tight, chipped my nails couple of times.-they should give a cover for the razor blade as it is pretty sharp. 4works but seems unsafe This came with a scraper and 5 blades. To "connect" the blade to the tool, you slide it in. This can be a little difficult as the slot in the tool is very tight. I was a little worried that I'd hurt myself doing it but luckily, I didn't. I did have to bang the blade on the stove a little to push it in properly. I'm a little worried about how difficult it'll be to remove the blade when it's dull.As for the tool itself, the metal itself seems sturdy, but the tool itself seems a little flimsy. The button that pushes the blade in and out is tough to press, and the cut out metal around it doesn't seem very smooth which could hurt somebody.I should add that in order to push the blade into the tool (when pressing the button down), i had to push it against the stove a little again so that it'll push all the way.Bottom line, it works, but i'm a little worried that i'll end up hurting myself with this. I probably would choose a different one if i could do it all again. 3so I literally threw it in the garbage. Get the Ceramabryte blade instead to clean your ... This is so poorly made. It was very difficult to get the blade loaded in without amputating something. The bracket that holds the blade does not go all the way across on the back side, so you can get the blade in only about halfway, then it slides out. I finally got the blade in, then the button that slides it in/out was not working. I eventually was able to get it to retract. I used the tool for 3-4 strokes, then the blade fell out and I was back to square one. This was so frustrating (and dangerous)! It would have cost more for me to return it than it was worth, so I literally threw it in the garbage. Get the Ceramabryte blade instead to clean your cooktop. 1The part that prevents the blade from retracting is useless, when you apply regular pressure to clean/scrape the ... The part that prevents the blade from retracting is useless, when you apply regular pressure to clean/scrape the blade will retract creating a waste of time, I used a vise grip to press the area that prevents the blade from sliding back, but after a few uses it did it again, it says made in the USA but a cheaper plastic Chinese one that I got at Lowes as emergency did a better job, I missed the return window so I wasted my money and time in this junk.I guess made in the USA doesn't mean what it used to be. If anyone knows of a better one please let me know. Thanks 1A little dangerous but gets the job done! I got this to scrape paint off my glass palettes - watercolor paint, oil paint, etc.Works fine. Only thing I noticed is if I have a particularly stubborn paint patch sometimes it'll actually retract under the pressure, so the button-push locking mechanism isn't super strong. Do be cautious with this, it's pretty easy to grip but you need to not let your grip slip at all because it's a razor on the end. Also, removing the razor blade is a little tricky and requires some forceful pushing - I use a towel to help protect my hand from any unwanted cuts. For the price though, it does what I need it to do! 4
