Customer Reviews

Great addition to the shower head UPDATE 6/25/2017: Still going strong and I've ordered a second one for my mother to use in her bath chair. I think some people are using it upside down because it definitely fits and it swivels. The bottom of it is flat, the top is slightly curved. If you're using it upside down, that's why you can't get the shower head in. It does have to fit your tile exactly or the suction alone won't hold.I'm not sure why people say it doesn't swivel, mine definitely does and the cup holds tight. I've only had it come loose once and I've been using this for about 2 months now. You do have to make sure your tile is big enough otherwise it won't hold. If you have something small like decorative mosaic tiles, this won't work. It fits our subway tiles perfectly. Now I can lower the shower head a few inches lower so I don't have to strain reaching the very high pipe that we have in our shower. 5Suction not the greatest-install during shower only Only one that actually faces the shower head down. I previously purchased 3 other suction cup handheld holders I ve and this is the only one that pivots down enough. That s the good part-the bad part, it doesn t really stick to the wall. I have a smooth fiberglass shower, and the other 2 brands stuck REALLY REALLY REALLY well-They just didn t pivot far enough. Because the other ones stuck so well, I know it s not me or my wall that is the issue-but this product in particular that s defective. After SEVERAL times of it falling (and scaring me half to death), I almost gave up. For over 2 weeks it wouldn t stick more that 24hrs without falling. Then, just before I gave up on it and threw it away, I tried one more time....so far it s stayed up for 1 month!!!! The only thing different I did this time was try to stick it while in the shower. I think the only way to make it work is to have the bathroom very humid and steamy, and the shower wall wet. Sounds the opposite of what you should do, but in this case it worked. 3Fine... If You Wear a Hard Hat When You Shower This suction cup is amazing. It stays really stuck even to our cheap, textured showered surround. However, the mechanism that helps make that strong auction appears connected to how the piece that holds your shower handle stays in position. That's where this thing fails hard. I can't tell you how many times my shower head spontaneously turned forward and fell out of this this thing. I got smacked in the head and face, and my showerhead crashed into the side of the shower several times before I just threw this thing in the garbage.I gave to a fair try and tried to adjust for possible user-error (because this would have solved an annoying problem for me) but in the end, it just could not do its job.(Used with a Hotel Spa handheld showerhead listed as compatible.) 2Good solution but use the adhesive mount The bracket holds the wand nicely and adjusts the angle easily. However, the suction cup does not hold permanently and needs to be reattached every day or two. Fortunately it comes with an adhesive backed mount that holds permanently (so far) and makes a workable solution. All in all, this is probably the best product I've found to solve the problem of mounting a wand holder that is not attached to the shower head pipe and doesn't need holes or screws that damage the shower walls.Update April 2017: Adhesive didn't hold more than a few months and after using some from Home Depot the positioning mechanism in the holder lost its grip and the wand won't stay up. Revising from 3 to 1 star. 1Handy Holder Have this about two weeks. One of the reasons I bought this is because it can be used either with the suction cup or adhesive. So far ,using only the suction cup it is holding up quite well-has not fallen off. I am not sure how the cradle for the hand held shower head is locked in place. The cradle was free to rotate until I locked the suction cup. The cradle then also locked in the position I placed it in. A few days after I had installed it,and after others had used the shower,I found the hand held shower head had rotated to nearly a horizontal position. To keep the shower head from rotating from it's own weight, I had to position it in a nearly vertical position. So far this has worked. I think I would feel better if their was a more secure way to positively lock the cradle at the desired angle. Otherwise ,it is just what i needed. 4NOT A VIABLE-WORKING PRODUCT !! Apparently they must have ordered a bunch of these and continue to sell them EVEN THOUGH IT DON'T WORK !!Do not buy it without planing on fixing it, as others have reported it will not stick with the suction cup due to the hard material it's made out of, should have been a softer silicone type of material, the red 3M glue pad does work--IF the surface your attaching it to is smooth and oil free, the trick is press down from one edge so as not to trap any air, also press very firmly, you will see a transparency change when pressed hard enoughThe second problem, as reported, is it will not hold up your shower wand--at all, as soon as the hot water hits it, down it goes !! the problem is the design to lock the position DOES NOT WORK AT ALL, maybe a tiny wand but would not begin to hold a standard size waterpik wand, to fix it the mold transition in the middle of the hole needs to be scraped out and the shaft of the holder piece needs to be serrated more than it is, I used an exacto knife for this, then to finally fix the problem permanently I wedged a thin strip of rubber in there, finally works now, oh and the waterpik does fit the hole if you turn the holder the right way, these people really need to go back to the drawing board on this product---- 1Works great! I looked at a lot of shower holders before buying this and highly recommend this one. It looks kind of plasticky but is deceptively sturdy and stays firmly in place once you get the hang of how to lock the seal in place. I use the suction directly on glass but it comes with a plastic adhesive disk which can be used on uneven surfaces like tiles. When I finally cut it out of the packaging, it took me quite a long time to slide the plastic disk off the suction. (I had to put on dishwashing gloves to pry it loose!)Just follow the instructions to install - clean the surface with vinegar and water, place the suction cup against the surface, press down hard a couple of times to apply an even suction all around the cup and push the clear plastic tab down. That's it. It fell off twice but the third time was lucky. I've moved it once and so far so good. Our shower head is quite heavy so I keep the it in the permanent holder when not in use. Note: the suction pad is not the neatest looking from the back side but bearable. 5Does not stay up. Don't trust it. My showerpik brand shower head fits in here just fine, but this shower head holder/mount just doesn't want to stay put in the shower. It is a perfectly flat, glossy shower wall, but the suction cup just doesn't cut it. I wouldn't trust this to stay up unless I was sure nobody would touch it. But the whole point of these shower ones is that you can grab them and use them when they are not attached to the mount. This would be an okay prank to play on somebody, ("I'll bet that falling head and mount really got you!") but not a great way to hold the shower head. 1Doesn't keep the showerhead up Overwhelmed with hubris, I scoffed at ALL of the other reviewers (my humblest of apologies), I was bedazzled by superficial emotion of.... looks. Come-on other brand? A bright orange plastic piece on a faux chrome shower fixture? really? I thought I could be the one this works for, why not me? Unfortunately, as other sage reviewers indicated, this does not stick to even the smoothest and flattest of surfaces with it's suction cup, Octopi would be embarrassed to shower with this accessory in the same room. Nor does my very typically sized shower head fit in it's tiny undersized hole. I can't even describe the problems that causes, the shower head wobbles every which way, before slowly tilting down in defeat. Then the entire thing falls off the wall... again. Sigh. 1Cheap product, suction would not work Suction would not work, I have used this type before but this one is useless if you want to move or adjust it. Had to use the permanent silicone adhesive option it comes with instead of suction. Now I know why they include it. Plastic "chrome" feels flimsy. Changing Lifestyles SaferGrip is also available on Amazon, cheaper, better made and suction grip works great, get that one instead. 1
