So sorry I didn t know it existed We ve been needing an extra towel bar for the master bathroom for 15 years! Bumped into this one and I couldn t believe my eyes. When my husband got back from a golf game and went to take a shower, I could hear his sound of surprise to find his towel not over the closet door anymore. He was so happy when he came out of the shower that I had spent money on him instead of myself. He says all the boxes delivered are either for me or the dogs. It took about 5 mins to install on the glass door of the shower. Wiped the surface with a microfiber cloth dipped with alcohol, made sure it was high enough to clear the door handle, eyeballed that it was straight and on it went. My arthritic fingers were strong enough to pull down on the clips for suction. It hasn t dropped to the ground yet. He s a big heavy handed guy. 5Unfortunately this did not work for me, and I ... Unfortunately this did not work for me, and I had to return this product! I was hoping it would work so that I would be able to install it in the shower without modifying my shower for a towel bar. After repeated tries by the hubby and I, it would not hold a grip!Using the sticky pads that they include is simply not an option as I am not allowed to modify the shower walls of an apartment.Bed bath and beyond had a salesperson who warned me that these products were not up to snuff and that was why they would not carry them in their store. I should have listened :(. Off to find a side mounting towel bar that will work on a Door! 1For their very poor customer service for a faulty product The right side suction cup continues to release after a day or two. It's mounted in the shower and the walls are cultured marble, smooth, non porous. I contacted the company about replacing the suction cup but got no one, just an answering machine, so I left a message. I received no return call, forgot about it and the 30 day return period had expired. I called again, and again got an answering machine; and again, no return call. The outer edges of the suction cup are wavy and appear malformed. It would be a simple fix if I were dealing with quality company. For their very poor customer service for a faulty product, I will not buy nor recommend any of their products. 1Suction cups sort of work, but not very well I purchased this to use in the shower as a way to hang up the bathtub mat to dry. I was very excited about the suction cup mount as a semi-permanent option. I discovered that the first few times I stuck it to the wall, it fell down within 1 to 2 days. One of the first times it fell, a piece cracked off (you can probably see in the photo) which somewhat detracts from the appearance. However, after some practice I have got the suction cups working okay, and it is only falling down every week or two. 1Form and Function (with adhesive on tile) Stylish, functional, and affordable. I wanted additional towel bars that did not require screws/drilling. I also didn t want the less attractive white towel bars. I opted to try this model first as the suction cup attachment system sounded great. I first cleaned the tile with a solution containing bleach and then with alcohol. I then allowed adequate drying time. I affixed the rod to the wall using the suction cups and let it be without placing any towels. Within hours it came tumbling down. I then used the included silicone adhesive which has held for two weeks, even with towels. (I wouldn t use the silicone adhesive on painted walls in a rental unit unless I was prepared to cover costs of damage to the wall after removal.) I will definitely buy again. The 24 inch towel bar was about 2 inches too long to be placed on the wall beneath the shower head so it is situated on the wall of the shower. The shorter towel bar will be purchased for that location. It is unfortunate that the suction cups didn t hold on smooth tile. Likely will hold on glass.. Being able to remove and relocate the towel bar would be a nice option.I would recommend placing a cushion/a few towels in your tub to protect the surface and to prevent damage to the towel bar should you use the suction cups and they fail. Though the towel bar is stainless steel with chrome finish the brackets appear to consist of plastic and metal. Small pieces splintered when the suction mounts failed hence the recommendation that a cushion be used after first installing the towel bar. The pieces were small and did not diminish the integrity or appearance of the unit. 4Great Looking and Sturdy Suction Towel Bar Recently purchased a new home where the builder's bathroom design lacked enough wall space to install any towel bars close to the full glass shower enclosure--(they must have been an afterthought, as they were inconveniently placed inside the room with the toilet!!) As there wasn't any wall space, the only option was to look for something with suction cups that could be used directly on the glass, but the majority I had seen were very cheap-looking and not wide enough to hold a bath towel. After extensive searching, I stumbled upon this adjustable bar that actually looked nice, so I ordered two of the 24" bars. They were quickly shipped, and I LOVE how nice they look. They are also quite sturdy, even when using the bar open-ended in a tight space. I am using one bar for towels, and the other is attached to the side of my soaker tub (which has a smooth marble surface) and holds a folded memory foam bathmat. I have also just ordered a third bar for my other bathroom.I did have an issue with the suction holding onto the glass about a week after installation, but after a thorough cleaning of the glass, (with alcohol instead of glass cleaner) there have been no further issues. I would definitely recommend this towel bar to anyone who plans to use it on a glass or smooth marble mounting surface. The bar does come with an alternate type of mounting for uneven surfaces, but I would suggest reading other comments regarding the success of that type of installation before purchasing. 5Good product but does not hold over time I gave this towel bar holder 5 stars as soon as I bought and put it up in the bathroom. It is very easy to install and quite flexible because you can adjust the position of the suction cups anywhere along the bar, to match your taste and preference. The problem with the bar is that after the first year during which it stayed in place pretty much all the time (found it on the floor just once), now it does not hold up any longer and keeps falling down, every day. Of course, I tired to clean the wall very well and also the suction cups, let everything dry before putting it up again. Well, it held the position one day longer, but the next morning it was on the floor gain. So I have to take a couple of stars away and downgrade it to 3. 3Update: Still firmly attached as of June first. Based on the few days that we have had this towel bar we are very pleased. I was very reluctant to drill holes in our bathroom tile for fear of cracking the tile. My wife was insistent about putting up a towel bar. Caught in a quandary I searched Amazon for a suction cup towel bar that was quality made. This has (so far) fit the bill. Our bathroom has smooth tile so I did not use the adhesive attachment. I simply wiped the tile with alcohol, let dry, and proceed to put placed the towel bar in position. I like the locking mechanism for better suction. We hung two bath towels on the bar and we were done. I have tugged on the towel bar to try to dislodge it but it is not moving so unless it just suddenly loses suction and falls to the floor, we are very pleased. We ordered a second one for our other bathroom.Update: Today is March 2nd and it is still attached to the wall. I give a little tug once in awhile and it is stuck to wall like it was glued on. 5These work like the real thing! I was a lil hesitant about ordering this product because of some reviews where it didn't work for a few people, but I am TOTALLY happy with this product!! I had absolutely no problems installing both. The house we moved into doesn't have towel rods in the showers & we didn't wanna have to redo the showers or drill holes through the tile. I have one installed on smooth tile & one on a glass shower door. I did not use the extra stickys that come with the kit. I just used some rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball to clean the area, let it dry, lined up where I wanted the rods, pressed against the area & flipped the lil clips all the way down, you might have to press a lil bit hard but make sure they go down all the way, that secures the pressure that holds it in place. They've been up a month now, still very sturdy! VERY happy with this purchase!!Nov 5, 2015 Update: Finally fell off. One of the rods fell when I was removing a towel from it. It has completely lost ALL suction, the little plastic tab doesn't do anything to move it to create suction. VERY disappointed. I still have the stickys that came with it, I'm going to try that & hope it works. 4Failure rate is high I purchased 2 of these for our master bath renovation and really liked them and soon ordered 3 more. I thought they were going to serve the purpose of holding my towels. I was wrong, all of them have fallen off their surfaces to the floor. I had 2 on a mirrored vanity, a glass shower door, side of a new bathtub and inside the shower on subway tile. They all failed one by one. The company sent sick on holders to use in the event of uneven surfaces so I have used 1 pair and was resorting to using a second pair as the towel bar continued to fall down and as I tried to install the stick on holder I had 2 break in my hand. I don't think these items are as helpful as the manufacturer had hoped they would be as I can't make them to stay on the surfaces where I need them to be.UPDATE: Just went into the bathroom and found the towel bar that had the stick-on holders attached after the 2nd failed attempt to adhear to the outside of my tub hanging by one holder and thin bag mat on the floor. This item had not preformed as advertised for me. I'm truly disappointed that I purchased 5 of them. Big disappointment. The seller didn't even respond to my first poor review and probably won't to this one. BEWARE 2
