    Remember when Radio Shack had things like this? Well, if you've been in Radio Shack recently, you know they're really about selling phones (and new old stock in the back of the store.) And that one crazy little item that you need for some simple project is available only online--at a price that seems a bargain and with shipping that includes the margin of profit. Well, this adapter is just what I needed: it works. Not much else to say about a utilitarian piece of our analog past. You may as well buy two! 5Buying this cheaply made adapter was a BIG mistake! The tip of the 1/4" TS adapter broke off inside my amplifier after the first attempt to unplug; also, the adapter was not at all mishandled by me, I am very gentle and careful with my expensive electronics.. Getting the broken tip removed proved to be a scary and expensive nightmare. DO NOT buy this item as it is very low quality and can damage your expensive equipment. I might go as far as to say steer clear of this company entirely. There's no way they should be putting their name on such poorly manufactured products. 1Signal reduction, high frequency break up, and non-linear variation. Bought these to simplify my connection.As a test setup, I use turntable RCA, then RCA -> 3.5mm Jack, and then 3.5mm Jack to 2 1/4 (also made by hosa) as I already have them. They worked great.In order to simply setup, I bought a pair of these and directly connected by turntable RCA. There is a clear difference, signal volume reduced, plus high frequency break up.Given the last second both made by Hosa, either I get a defective pair, or Hosa went down seriously from 2015 (the other cable purchase) to 2019 (this connector purchase).Avoid waste time on these. 2They work great! I use these as a low-tech solution to connect my studio monitors to my television, and they work perfectly for that. I just use a RCA to 1/8in headphone jack cable to plug into the headphone audio out on my TV, and then use these adapters to turn the RCA jacks into 1/4 jacks so I can plug them into my studio monitors. Works great! 5Inexpensive. Works great I use these on my mixing board for live mixes. Cheap enough to order extra for when they inevitably get lost. 5Not bad for the price, but not typical Hosa quality These adapters are inexpensive and work fine, but the construction quality isn't the best I have seen. Don't expect these to last forever unless you are very careful with them.Hosa makes some excellent audio cables and adapters. You can usually depend on the name for above average to extremely high quality products that will take a beating and last a long time. These don't feel up to scratch compared to other Hosa products.A good buy if you need something light duty. 4Cheap & Usable So if your on a budget for a little home project this will probably fit you fine. If your doing pro work, a band that needs long lasting durable goods for travel, etc. Then spend more money for something higher quality.I didn't think a cheap adapter would be much different than an expensive one, as an adapter is an adapter right? Well not really these things are hollow inside! I never expected something to be cheeped out like that. Now I know how/why people said they bent these and broke them.Electrically speaking having it hollow should produce a signal just as good as a solid one (its not like your wire is that thick). Mine were also gold colored not silver like in this picture.It should fit my needs fine just for a little home studio where I may have 2 mics and 1 other source hooked to a small mixer, if they break its not a lot of money to lose I just wouldn't want them to break if I was using them for a job or as a band when failure is not an option. Thus why I say spend more if your in that situation. 3They are good at their intended, simple job. A- I would normally say that this is a pretty simple product and that there is not much I can say about it; However considering some popular reviews seem to think these are 1/8 inch aux cable to 1/4 inch adapters which they are not, I will further elaborate. These are used to convert an RCA cable to a 1/4 inch jack; My pictures will illustrate this. They do their job just fine and I have no complaints. I am using these to convert my Monster rca cables coming from my Fostex studio monitors, into my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 which does not have RCA outputs.I hope that my review can help someone in their purchase decision. 5Affordably expands the spectrum of wires, plugs and adapters in our music room Adds to the collection of various connecting wires, plugs, adapters for my musician hubby. Best thing about it was the huge savings over retail store prices. Otherwise, nothing earth-shattering to note. 4Great adaptors to finish the connection from my iPad to my mixer I needed this adapter to connect my computer/iPad/iPhone to a stereo channel on my Yamaha mixer. They do the job great. I use a mini jack coming out of the source which has stereo RCA connectors. I plug these adaptors into the mixer and the RCA jacks into them.There certainly are other ways of getting the connection may, but I had the cable with the mini jack and RCA connectors already. Rather than buy a new cable, I just got these adaptors. At the end of the day, everything works great. I'm very satisfied with this product. 5
