Customer Reviews

High Quaility, Great For Connecting Pedals To Things! This is a great little cable! Here is my review:1.) Quality: I wasn't expecting much for $5, but this surpassed my expectations. Everything feel secure, the cable heads aren't loose. Five stars here!2.) Feel: It feels like a quality product, the grips on the handle make it easy to put in and out of jacks. Five stars here!3.) In use: It does what it is supposed to do. I bought this cable because it is short. I use it to connect effects pedals to my amp. It works great for this purpose. Five feet isn't really long enough to use with an instrument (unless its a keyboard), but I was expecting that.4.) Summary: A great, high quality little cable that is good for connecting pedals to amps and other short jobs like that. I would definitely buy again! 5Thin, flimsy cable. Not very good for use as a footswitch cable, which it is sold to be used for. I bought this cable, to go along with a Hosa footswitch that I ordered. I really wish that I could give this a higher rating. The cable, itself, is about 1/8 (3.5mm) wide. It works, but I wouldn t trust it to last very long if you are gigging with it, or are hard on your equipment. I was going to make my own cable, but bought this one, out of convenience. I m sorry that I did. I will be making my own sturdier cable, and saving this one to use as a spare. If you re just a basement player , it would probably be good enough. 2Still a good value There's no denying that these are light-weight, thin and supple cables compared to the leading two competitive brands. But in my experience they work just as good (sic) and last just as long. They're less accessible to repair by the owner, so if you're concerned about the environment, are opposed to trashing rather than fixing, and don't mind paying as much as six times more for the top-grade instrument cords, that's a decision I applaud.Whereas some of the "brand-name" cords have appreciated 50% in price compared to a year ago, these cables are mere pennies more. I do notice one aberration: the 10-foot Hosa cable is presently priced below this 5-foot cable on Amazon. If you prefer to play with a personal amp up close to your instrument, the 5-foot cable is the way to go. If you play with musicians who insist on connecting all instruments to a general P.A. system (I resent losing control over my piano, but who am I to argue if someone else landed the gig and is paying me to play?), then you'd be better off with a 15'-20' foot cord than a 10' one.In any case, never go on the job--any job, or even rehearsal--without an extra patch cord. Even the most expensive cords have shorted out in my experience. Finally, it's easy not to take seriously manufacturers' recommendations to use only "balanced cables" (the ones with 2 rings in the pin). Best take seriously those recommendations until you've proved them wrong. Some Kurzweils that I've owned will not accept non-balanced (monaural, or single-ring) cables. 5High Quality Audio Interconnects Looking for high quality audio interconnect cables? If so, you can't go wrong with Hosa. These are fantastic, well-made cables that feature a soft, flexible spiral shield coating, nickel-plated plugs, and oxygen-free copper (OFC) conductors. In short, these are really good cables with features mostly seen in more expensive cables. Highly recommended. 5These cables are somewhat cheaply made, but they worked ... These cables are somewhat cheaply made, but they worked... kind of. Picked up interference and one cable became unusable after only a few weeks causing my studio monitor to distort badly. They are ok, but certainly not high-quality cables. 3Good general purpose cable Purchased these to connect a Hammond organ's Chorale-Tremolo switch to a Leslie with TRS-type control input -- DC signaling, not audio. Works fine. These are not Mogami-wire Neutrik-connector grade cables, that is left reserved for instrument-level audio. For signaling or line-level audio, Hosa does absolutely fine without paying a premium where not needed. 5Great Value for my Needs The use to which I'm putting this isn't very demanding (connecting foot switch to amp for home studio--got the five foot one to reduce line clutter), so if you have a demanding audio transmission need, take this with a grain of salt, but I still wanted to write a review to let people know two things. One, if you need a cheap, reliable trs cable for a two button footswitch, this one works great. Second, the quality to price ratio seems great--not sure I'd bother with going to Hosa's next level up even if I needed it to do more. 5hit or miss, and cheaper Hit or miss with these things. When they work they work great. When they don't they tend to cut out a lot.Ok - I don't know what Hosa did with these cables, but these are crazy cheap compared to the ones I ordered last year. The cables are much thinner, the plastic seems cheaper. 2Does the job. Reasonably durable. Standard cables. The connectors are not metal, and these will be difficult to repair by soddering back together if it breaks, but this is a decent, cheap cable. For most uses, this should be fine. If you need something more rugged and fixable, get one with metal sleeves that you can take apart.Other than that... I can't really fault this cable and it works as expected. 4Definitely average quality cable! That s a compliment! Works great to connect my two button amp footswitch to my amp! I don t gig, just play at home, so I can t really say how much abuse it could take. I wouldn t say it is a cheaply made cable at all. Definitely average. Which is a good thing. Cheap cables lead to aggravation and buying twice, and expensive cables are overrated. This lies perfectly in the middle. 5
