    Not as pictured - sub par filter This is NOT what is pictured in the photo (or the sturdy honeywell filter that came with my new AC system), it's just an average filter--worth maybe $15 not $30. It has maybe half the filter area as the one in the photo. Won't be buying again, not happy. 1Great filters (OEM) I ordered the two pack of these (16x25x5) back in November 2015. The ones I received were OEM and were the exact same ones that I had when my new furnace/ac were installed. I use it practically on a daily basis and it has been working very well. I change them out every 6 months or so, but I think you can go longer depending on how dirty your air is. I might even try changing them once a year but I am somewhat of a cautious person and I like to take care of the things I own. The pictures I have attached show the original filter on the right (its the dirty one) I had when the unit was put in and the filters on the left (clean and in wrapping) that were sent to me. 5Perfect fit and exactly what I needed. Was hesitant to spend so much on the 2 pack when I saw reviews of 'crushed' filters from shipping and per my measurements of my space for the filter was so snug. But I'm SO glad I took the chance, my HVAC guy put in a 4" thick filter last fall (2015) (the prior HVAC guy put in a 1" filter that had to be replaced every 6-8 weeks because it filled with dust so quickly) but the past filter had a 3/4" gap on the side and a 1/2" gap front to back, he said, 'they are all different sized and none fit perfect", but there was so much return air NOT being filtered from these gaps so dust was being thrown back into the vents and my home. When I got these Honeywell filters they were in perfect condition, fit like a freaking GLOVE, not a gap side to side nor font to back and the 'door' closed without any force. PERFECT, wish I had put in these filter years ago. my last 4" lasted a full year (only using Fall/Winter/Spring) as I don't have A/C. If you have a Honeywell Furnace buy the Honeywell filter, then you omit the risk of 'gaps' and air not trapping all the dust etc. passing through the return registers. 5Bait and switch! Bait and switch item! Although the part number matches the one listed/shown in the add, what I received is definitely not the same filter! It has a fewer number of folds within the filter section, which means it s of lessser quality and won t last as long. The add is very misleading, very disappointing! The photos in the add do reflect what it should look like though, that s what I currently have in my home. 1Not as shown - do not buy! Completely agree with top rated negative review - the product shown isn t what you get, and what you get is vastly inferior.I pulled my old Filtrete filter out to replace with one of these, which I ordered way ahead of time so can t return now. See pictures for an illustration of how poor this is in comparison. I did a little measuring, and the actual filter area of the Filtrete is 3150 sq in, and this one is only 1728 sq in, just over half as much!Amazon should replace this image with one of the actual product sold, it s incredibly deceptive as it stands, and these are not inexpensive, only cheap. 1DO NOT BUY THIS FILTER. I gave the product a one star so I could post a review. In my opinion this is like a bait and switch. Save yourself the trouble and buy a Filtrete or Best Air filter which is a true FC100A1029 filter replacement. I can only surmise Honeywell has changed how they make the product. The Honeywell filters are now made like a cheap filter with not even half of the pleated peaks and valleys as shown in the picture. Previously purchased filters from Honeywell looked just like the picture. The last two times I ordered, I received filters that were very cheaply made and did not look like the picture. I had to return both times. Honeywell apparently no longer makes the product in the picture, but continue to post the picture. If you buy this product expecting to get the filter in the picture, you ll be disappointed. Amazon should no longer list this product as a replacement for a FC100A1029 filter. It will fit your furnace, but it is no longer the high quality filter product that came with your furnace and that Honeywell sold previously. 1Appears to be Counterfeit Filters. These appear to be Counterfeit. Cheaper construction, less pleats, inferior printing on edges, Ink is B&W not red, and general construction of the filter more flimsy and not same quality as previous exact same part number filters purchased before. If the seller reads this and wants to contact me, please do. 1Not as pictured. Has less filter fabric. This item is not the same as pictured. The filter that arrived has almost half the number of filter fabric pleats as the one shown as an example. I appears to have a lot less filter fabric than previous filters I have purchased. 3Perfect fit in an old Honeywell Electronic Air Cleaner The 30 year old electronic air cleaner in our home finally bit the dust, no pun intended, and the furnace guy recommended I just slide a media filter in where the two cartridges had been. Super easy to do; took me 5 minutes max.-Turn off the unit-Remove the cover-Remove the two prefilter screens-Remove the two cartridges-Remove the alignment screw located at the bottom of the area where the cartridges had been; it is a Phillips head screw-Slide in the new filter; it is an exact fit-Replace the cover and tape the switch permanently in the off positionHe says these filters are way better than the electronic cleaners were ever designed to be. At a cost of under $30 a filter in a two pack, this is a much cheaper option than the expected life of a new $700 unit, even if we replace the filters twice a year. 5Easy to install. Keep your HVAC in good shape by changing filter media on regular basis We just had new HVAC units installed, and after a month I decided to check the cleanliness of the filter media. Both units' filters were slightly dirty, but I opted to change the filters out. On one unit you simply pull at the filter door which has a magnetic release, and you only have to slide the old filter out and slide the new filter in. Make sure you have the filter installed correctly for air flow! 5
