Buy this!!!!!!! This is a GREAT iPad cover. My adult daughter has cracked and destroyed multiple iPads and when i bought my grandson on older generation iPad (iPad 3) we purchased this. A year later his iPad is still pristine and he s dropped it off of porches. We have a huge SUV and he dropped it opening the door one day. No damage. The carry handles a huge plus and acts as a stand as well. I purchased on for one of the screen shattered iPads that my granddaughter uses so she wouldn t make it worse. It s helped make the thing still be usable. I really do not understand how people don t protect iPads and iPhones. Trust me this is the BEST kids case on amazon and for an amazing price. IT DOES COME WITH A GREAT SCREEN COVER. 5Survived flying off car on highway! This case saved our iPad when it flew off the car's roof on the HIGHWAY! this thing is indestructible! It was in three pieces when we found it but the iPad still turned on and was totally fine. The screen cover was even still on when we found it. Here are the pictures! I cleaned it off and the case still snapped back together! It's literally indestructible. 5Thick foam case, toddler resistant! But parent-proof I ordered the purple/pink combo. Super cute, has the handle, stands up well, foam so isn't dastardly sounding when it hits the floor, which it has (once, and it was my fault-I was over-enthusiastically cooking). HOWEVER, trying to get the iPad into the actual outside foam case is like opening a child proof bottle. I have a PhD and it took me 20 minutes, a paperclip, some swearing, and concerted effort. Three sides will go in great, but you have the stretch the foam while pushing the inner case in to have it pop in, while holding the foam out so it doesn't roll under. It's do-able but takes a bit. I used a paper clip held between my little finger and ring finger to keep the foam out while pushing the case in. However, my child cant' remove it, I will never be able to remove it, and it works like a charm. 5This case meets this needs plus has a great handle that flips as a stand I can't believe I waited so long to get this! My daughter uses my old ipad air to watch video and play games. The case I used was old and had a keyboard which she wouldn't need. She also drops the ipad a lot. We decided on getting her something that would protect it and look colorful. This case meets this needs plus has a great handle that flips as a stand, which she loves. The rubber is soft yet durable and the screen protector is plastic but protects from grubby fingers and light spills. It took about 1 min to fit the ipad into the case which was easy and just required a little pushing. We love this product! Now my daughter carries her ipad everywhere and we can have peace of mind. 5A Great Bumper that will Protect Your Pricey Device The following relates to the purchase, so please bear with me. We originally purchased an iPad Air (1st Generation) for my now 15-year-old son. Initially very excited with the device, he later found that he didn t use it nearly as much as his iPhone. Soon after purchasing the iPad, we had another child (a now 5-year-old son). Our youngest, having grown up with hand-me-down phones and devices, takes to them like nothing. My oldest decided, since he hadn t touched the iPad in more than a year, to give my youngest his iPad. Even though the iPad is a few years old now, it s still and iPad (and in like-new condition to boot). My oldest had a magnetic screen protector on the iPad, which simply wouldn t cut it for use by a five-year old. So, we researched the best iPad bumper cases for kids and came across the HDE iPad Air Bumper Case. We ultimately settled on it for a number of reasons (which I ll offer below); and, we re glad we did. Please read on.Pros:It fits the iPad Air (1st Generation) perfectly. Cutouts (for charging ports, cameras, speakers, etc.) are recessed well (i.e., deep enough to protect ports, etc. but not so deep as to interfere with using the iPad) and line up precisely. Of note, the charger port is not covered. Some might consider this a so-what issue (or even a con, as it leaves the port open to the elements); however, I consider it a pro. This is based on the fact that all other similar bumpers I considered all had reviews noting the same thing, i.e., the charging port cover broke my lightning cable. I continually teach my son how to be responsible with his devices. I m not nearly as worried about an open charger port (especially since the port is well-recessed in the case) as I am about having to replace lightning cable after lightning cable, which can be very pricey. So, for me, this is a definite pro. The case is, indeed, shockproof. My son already accidentally dropped the iPad a few times on our hardwood floors and area rugs -- making me cringe each time and resulting in a brief immediately thereafter. However, upon inspection, the iPad is continually in perfect working order -- unscathed and unbroken (dropped from his arm height of about 2.5 feet). The foam is thick, durable, and light (which is great for little ones, as iPads are heavy to begin with). The case is comprised of two parts -- a hard, durable shell (with built-in screen protector) that covers the front of the iPad, and the forgiving, softer, rubberized, foam bumper into which the hard shell (with iPad encased in it) inserts. The case has a built-in combination holder & arm/stand. This is a definite pro as portability (the ease with which his little hands can safely and securely grasp the iPad) and usability were key. He can grab the handle (which is very durable) and fold the arm back to watch the iPad (landscape view) hands-free on a flat, level surface. The means of fastening the foldable arm to the bumper body seem well-made, based on some reasonably-forced test tugs and my son slinging the iPad around as he walks (again resulting in talks with him). The screen protector works perfectly (please see General Comments), allowing more-than-adequate touch sensitivity and viewability. Unlike other reviewers, neither I nor my son had problems with the responsiveness or usability of the home button with the iPad in the case. On the contrary, the home and other buttons/switches work quite well. Finally, while it s difficult to get the hard shell in the foam bumper -- it should be to keep the iPad in place; so, you need to be careful during installation -- the iPad fits perfectly, snuggly in the foam bumper. As one should expect from such a case, the iPad doesn t move at all while being hauled in little hands from point a to point b.Cons: I m very picky about products. I try to nitpick everything I can about a product, as that s what I d want other reviewers to do when I read their reviews while I m considering a purchase. I can find nothing wrong with the bumper (at least for now). Regarding the instructions, they were sufficient (despite obviously being photocopied on a low-resolution setting on a standard piece of 8.5x11 paper). However, while the instructions pointed out the need to remove and discard the black mold piece (and to remove the inner, blue screen-protector film) they didn t point out the need to remove the outer screen-protector film once you finish installation. A small oversight, but one that could cause certain users issues should they forget to do so (please see General Comments).General Comments: There are two protective plastic films on the screen protector (likely to ensure the protector isn t marred in transit or during handling) -- an outer, clear film and bluish film on the inside of the screen protector. Some reviewers commented on a the screen protector having a blue tint when they view their iPad through the protector. They likely forgot to peel off the inner-blue film. This is understandable as a) it s really stuck on there; and, b) it almost seems as if you shouldn t remove the film, as it is cut perfectly to the size of the inside of the screen. There is also a black, plastic item (mold) fit into the screen protector. I was stumped as to what purpose it served at first (but, lo and behold, after reading the instructions) the mold is simply intended to protect the form of the screen protector and the foam case during shipping and handling and, subsequently, should be trashed. FWIW, HDE went above and beyond in ensuring the bumper, etc. gets to you in perfect shape. It is really well-protected, from outer packaging to inner packaging. If you already have a screen protector on your iPad -- we did for my oldest son, and left it on a) as it was expensive, b) was still in great shape, and c) the bumper won t stay on forever (so we d need another screen protector if we removed the one already on it -- bubbles will form between the screen protector and the iPad s screen. To me, it was no big deal. Moreover, it doesn t bother my youngest when he watches YouTube kids and plays his learning apps. Still, others with similar setups might wonder why bubbles are forming, which is normal when you have an HD, smooth screen protector in direct contact with a plastic screen protector. Note that my pics of the screen, while in the case, are pixelated purposefully, as my son s wallpaper is a pic of him and his mom. Once you remove both sheets protecting the HDE screen, the picture is perfect. One final general comment, my son wanted the green protector, which we purchased. While the green on the product page looks dark (I wasn t a big fan of the color)... I was pleasantly surprised when the item arrived and found the green to be a more vibrant color. My son was happy with it too.Recommended Purchase?: Short and sweet, absolutely. I believe this to be a five-star purchase (and I don t hand those out often), that will protect your pricey iPad from scrapes, bumps, cracks, and breakage. If I have a reason to change my review in the future, I ll do so ASAP. Til then, regards. 5Kid-Tested, Dad-Approved Case! So after spending $80 to have the cracked screen of our IPad Air repaired, I knew it was time for a more heavy-duty case. What can I say? When you have two sets of twins (ages 3 and 9), your electronics are going to take a beating. So far this case has taken the abuse like a champ. It has a built-in screen cover, which will prevent scratching the glass when a child inexplicably drags it across the floor. It also has a thick, foam-esque material that covers all four sides of the device...handy for those times when your child inexplicably throws it across the room (like when they become frustrated at a pop-up advertisement). The only thing this case can t do is prevent fingerprints and sticky goo from appearing on the screen cover - but the good news is that it cleans off easily with screen wipes. Yup, this case is definitely kid-tested, dad approved! 5I'd buy again This is a great case to protect your ipad if little kids use it. I go this after my ipad suffered a bad drop (from my wife) and damaged it slightly. The case itself is a big spongy wrap around case which works quite well. The screen is just ok, it provides scratch protection, but it feels very "plastic" unlike the nice glass feeling screen protectors we have used in the past. With that said, it does not seem to interfere with using the ipad at all and the ipad is still very responsive to touch. Speakers are not compromised by the case, the plug is easy to get to, and volume buttons too. I wish it was a bit more adjustable when using as a stand, but it isn't an issue. I like the purple color. My only complaint which isn't of the quality of the case is that it is SO thick that it will not fit in my charging station (no real big deal). I'd buy again. 5Perfect! Anyone that rated this poorly isn't using the case correctly or purchased the wrong case for their ipad model. There is a film on BOTH sides of the clear screen protector. Neglecting to remove one or both will make it unusable. I love this case and can't wait to give my daughter her new ipad in it for Christmas! 5No more broken iPads! Have purchased several different brands/colors similar to this bumper case. This case is by far the best one we have purchased. In fact, HDE was the only brand that I could find that protected the front of device also...all the other cases were open faced bumper cases. Nice bright red cover just as pictured. Gives us piece of mind that our son will not destroy his iPad Air. Very snug fit...fit perfectly. Love the handle for my 6 yr-old to just grab and go comfortably without dropping. Also, I noticed the handle folds back better than other brands...specifically more at an angle than the other brands so that it does not fall over. Definately worth the money!! 5Wow. I'm impressed. I'll admit I was skeptical. I remember when the best case for an iPhone was an OtterBox and you had to pay $50+ and even then it wasn't that great. I know things are different now, but an excellent kid-proof case for under $20? I couldn't believe it was legitimately this good.Now bear in mind my son is 2 years old, and a total snot when it comes to outsmarting Mom and Dad. He's the kid that will remove your most recent attempt at baby proofing something, then put it back and clap for himself because he proved you wrong yet again.We've had this case on his iPad for 3 weeks. He has thrown it off the bed, beat the dog with it, played games with fingers covered in watermelon... and the iPad is doing great. I am VERY impressed. 5
