Very nice looking light fixture at a very reasonable price Very nice looking light fixture at a very reasonable price. It has a thick glass dome and the support stems are very sturdy. I added 2 LED A19 bulbs and they give great light. Easy to install and had all the needed pieces and very clear instructions. 5Good quality, great deal This light fixture arrived exactly as pictured, in retail packaging with a label slapped on the box. I don t mind that, but just be aware it is not in an Amazon box. This light is pretty, but there are three curvy things right above the glass bowl, and it can be a bit frustrating trying to get them equal distance apart. It just never seems to look perfect. Otherwise, it was relatively easy to install and I have no complaints about the quality. It casts a warm color and would be great if you had an upscale rustic look in the room. 4Elegant and well-priced We bought two of these to replace broken ceiling fans in two bedrooms. The instructions say it has to be installed in a 2 inch octagonal box, but one of our rooms has a shallower box. Nevertheless, we were able to install it in the shallow box with just enough room for all the wires, wire nuts, and screws. The pan at the top of the fixture offers a little bit of space, but not much. To make everything fit we had to shorten some of the wires. Something to keep in mind. The yellow tint of the glass bowl softens the harsh glare of fluorescent and LED bulbs, which is a plus. 5Great addition to my kitchen. The color of the fixture was a key for me. It's not black. It's a burnished bronze. When matched with the off-white globes with the brown "dusting" around the edges, it gives you a great deal of options for decorating and surrounding decor. It's going to "fit in" and "go with" a variety of looks. The drop is of course adjustable and it's very lightweight to be supporting 5 globes. FWIW, the arms don't curve up straight. They flare out just a tad. It looks fine that way, but I'm not sure you can really see it that well in online pictures. 5A fairly good fixture for the money A fairly good fixture for the money. Installation instructions, especially in regard to assembling the fixture itself, are somewhat unclear. It took a little while and some fiddling around to finally infer what the assembly instructions meant. Otherwise it is an attractive ceiling fixture. It provides adequate ambient lighting in our 12 x 12 foot dining room with 8-foot ceiling. However, the fixture is limited to two 60-watt bulbs. Given the translucent nature of the bowl below the bulbs, the resulting light is just a little dim for reading comfortably. We are using incandescent bulbs, which just fit within the space allowed for the bulbs. I do not know whether a CFL or LED bulb that could produce more light might fit within that space. 4I ordered this light fixture because I liked the shape and proportions and because the colors - ... I ordered this light fixture because I liked the shape and proportions and because the colors - oil-rubbed bronze combined with the antiquish glass shades - would fit into my dining room where it would go. 1.) the metal parts are GREY, not bronze-colored (thank God that also fit into my decor, but still...) 2.) the fixture consists of at least 2 dozen pieces that are not cut precisely; the assembly instruction is illogical with the result that it literally took hours until this thing was assembled, symmetrical and not crooked. Now it's up and it's working, and nobody can tell what a mess it was. BUT: never again! 3Nice but not bronze I have not installed these yet so I will update my review if they don't work properly. I ordered 2 and they look good, the glass shades are a nice thickness. The only problem is these are not bronze they are gray. I'd call it gunmetal gray. They still look nice though and I bought them for my boyfriend's hall/ stairwell and he doesn't care either way so I wont return them. If I had to match them to other light fixtures this would be a problem. I think I got them at a sale price so it was a good buy. 4Beautiful This chandelier is so beautiful. And you really can't beat the price. I assembled and installed it myself. The directions could be a little clearer...but not too hard to figure it out. I'm definitely veru happy I chose this for my dining room. 5Classy looking While repainting our hallway the hubs and I decided to replace the very old outdated, gold fixture from the 90s. (the previous owner of the house had ZERO style or any interior design knowledge) The light was easy to install, fits flush against the wall and mounted easily. It looks wonderful down the hall way and gives a ton of light so you can find stuff at the back of the closets. We liked it so much we purchased another light fixture similar to it for another room. Good buy. 5For the Price It's Acceptable My fiance and I hunted at length to replace a chandelier in our new apartment, finally deciding on this Classic Bronze, 21-Inch by 18-Inch Chandelier, by Berkshire (543728). One large selling point for us was the upward placement of the votives; the opening of the glass at the top is lovely for those who don't want to see the bulbs blaring down on you while enjoying dinner.Installation went quickly, and the unit lights quite well as a dining room piece. However, this was our main choice due to it's aesthetic... and while coming out of the box it looked fabulous, after it was hung we did notice a few peculiarities. First, like many reviewers have said, the finish is ~not~ a traditional oil-rubbed bronze. It certainly is somewhat nickel/grayish, though slightly hued somewhere in the brown family. With our ceilings being quite high (13ft cathedral) we had to purchase a swag kit to extend the chain, in order to seat it over our table. This obviously is no issue, but as you can see in the photo there is a rather pendulum looking center, which (if weighted correctly) one would assume would keep the piece centered correctly as it hangs. With ours, this is not quite true.It seems to actually hang ever-so-slightly to one direction. The chain itself is certainly hanging straight (we fussed with it for 15 minutes), so it isn't a matter of poor execution. Regardless, while it's not perfect we found it acceptable for the price. However, upon closer inspection we also noticed the arms that hold the votives are not attached symmetrically all the way around. Some have a little more than an eighth of an inch in difference of height from where they attach to the center. This combined with the slightly uneven hang plays with the eyes... making it feel much more abstract than it should. It seems other reviewers are finding a variety of different quirks among this chandelier, so it's possible the model you purchase may not have the same issues ours does. The very best feature about this chandelier has to be the glass. It is without a doubt one of the prettiest glass effects I've seen in this price range of chandelier. They're just the right opacity to keep the bulbs from feeling too bright and feel rather vintage on and off.All in all it doesn't quite live up to the picture, but that doesn't make it terrible, either. The idea of the piece is well presented and the glass and lighting is stellar. While we may not ever purchase from Berkshire again due to the various flaws, for us this piece is still far better than what was previously hanging, and again the reasonable price makes it easier to pallet the few flaws we came across. 3
