Customer Reviews

Comfort for tired wrists, without the "wrist rest bump"! I had been using a bean-bag-style wrist rest in combination with a regular mouse pad, which was comfortable, but . . . the "bean bag" kept falling off my computer desk, and I felt constrained in my mouse movements. The HandStands Memory Foam Ergo-Mat has just enough of a slope from the front up to the back that it supports my wrist at a more-or-less neutral position, yet is all one smooth surface, without a distinctive "wrist rest bump" to restrict one's mousing. The mousing surface is plain but functional, and does not cause any noticeable drag for the mouse. (If you absolutely must have a pretty picture on your mouse pad, you could always put a sticker or decal on top of this; I won't be doing that, however.) Great design; it's a keeper! 5Awesome At my age, I have used many a mouse pad, but never one like this. Design is genius. The memory foam is quite firm, much firmer than the pic. I am getting another one. I lean on my elbows a lot because of type of work I do, and this pad is beyond awesome for my elbows. Most rests are too mushy. This pad is firm. I do not even feel my elbows when resting them on this pad. That's why I am ordering another - for each elbow. Right elbow is going to have to share the pad with the mouse. :) You will end up buying two, also. This pad is that awesome. 5I'm glad I bought this mousepad. This is the best mousepad I've used. I had one with a high bulging gel pillow that supported the wrist, but in time I started to have pain from that. This one permits the wrist, hand, and elbow too, to rest in a neutral position. I am deferring major surgery on my right thumb & wrist, and I know this is going to buy me lots and lots of time before I finally have to give in and have it done. It isn't as soft as I expected it to be but I think I like it better this way. My cordless optical mouse works great on it. If they offer one a bit bigger than this, I might buy that one, but this one is fine for most purposes. After all, the mouse settings can be adjusted so that even a small mousepad is big enough. If you're unsure about which ergonomic mouse pad to buy, give this one a try! It's a very good value. 5Finally RELIEF from Carpal Tunnel Pain!!!!! This Mat is AWESOME!! I have Carpal Tunnel pain when I use a mouse for more than 15 minutes. This mat allows me to use the mouse literally for hours pain FREE! I tracked this down after working for a client that had one just like it and they couldn't remember where they got it from. After getting one and confirming it was the right mat I purchased a second. This is the first product that has EVER worked and relieved my pain in over a decade of trying different wrist rests & gadgets for support & alignment. 5Works great as elbow rest, stinks to high heaven! I've been looking for a good replacement for an elbow rest and thought I'd give this a try. In that respect, it is working very well. Good level of firm formable cushion that has relieved my sore elbow from leaning on the desk. Foam has good 'memory' foam feel, not too hard, not too soft. Bottom is slightly rounded at the edges so the edges do not lay flat on the table, but no biggie.Note: the mat that I received does not look identical to the one pictured. Mine has parallel sides and a stepped front. I'm not using if for a mouse pad so doesn't affect me, but be advised if you are planning on mousing, you only have the upper 2/3-rds for actual mousing area.BUT: when I got this and opened the packaging I about passed out from the fumes. Seriously, this thing stinks like a chemical plant in full production... I had to relegate this to the garage for at least a week to let it air out/out gas and thankfully it did finally lose 90% of its odor. 4This works the best for my wrist comfort in daily computing This is the best pad I could find at either office supply stores or online, but only on Amazon did it show up so easily. Since I have to limit my mouse motions with both hands (not to overstrain the wrist/ligaments/tendons), this item works well as lefty or righty. I use it with the short end facing me and the tall end at the top, otherwise the steep angle on top strains my hands. It's a little firm, so it's not cushy, but the support gets the job done of aiding my wrist comfort as I work with the wireless Logitec Mouse throughout the day. I could never use a wire mouse, way too much wrist strain, stopped using those in 2002. 4Fantastic product and very well priced! I really like this product, and the only thing I would change would be to make it a bit thicker on the wrist end, but that's because I have long hands. Otherwise, it's a fabulous product for the price point. Why spend a ton more on the same thing? It's super easy to use, carry along in a laptop bag, and is quite ergonomic. Now, my wrist doesn't hurt after long bouts of gaming, which equals? You guessed it! More gaming! The mouse slides gracefully across the fabric surface and the rubber bottom keeps the pad from sliding around when you least expect it to. Would totally repurchase! 5Definitely helped with the CTS, and wears like iron Not much to add to the other reviews, but after a year of hard use I can say this: I do not feel any carpal tunnel pains when using it (but did before), and the pad is incredibly durable. It still looks as new as when I unwrapped it!I compare this to the Kensington Wrist Pillow Mouse Pad I bought at the same time, for the same price, and have used just as much. The Kensington pad looks completely worn out.EDIT after three years - my Handstands Ergo Mouse Mat still looks, feels, and works like brand new. I've bought a few more as gifts. Mouse pads don't get any better than this. So they'll probably discontinue it. I do notice that some people are getting a different one when they order now. Sorry to see that. You want THIS one.EDIT after four years of hard use - same as three years. I just rinsed it off and again it's like new. I bought a couple more as spares. I don't ever want to be without one even though they don't wear out. In my title I said "wears like iron". Well, even iron would show some use after all these mouse miles. This pad doesn't. At the current price (ten-fifty) it's a steal. 5Best mouse pad/mat out there, but ... Make sure you're getting the right one. I've ordered several of these mouse pads for our office over the past year, but just recently we received a different style with a wrist rest bump which we don't like. I emailed HandStands directly to inquire about it and was told that they changed the design. The one without the wrist rest is ASIN B00012H6H70, which is what is currently listed in the product description on Amazon, but the item we received was ASIN B007MJ9PQ2. Apparently, Amazon hasn't been monitoring inventory carefully and is sending out the wrong one. HandStands is still making the older version w/o the wrist rest, because so many consumers still want it and have given feedback like I did. If you like this Ergo-mat, I suggest you do the same to ensure that it continues to be available. Those of us with wrist discomfort prefer the non-wrist rest design. 5If wrists needed couches, I'd want one made of this stuff ~ NOTE: THE MAT I RECEIVED DOES NOT HAVE RIDGES AS PICTURED. IT IS SIMPLY SQUISHY AND FLAT, WITH A THICKER EDGE. But this fact isn't a game changer, more a shame-on-you for the seller post. This mat is pretty fabulous. It is cheap, and even though it isn't personalized with a personal mantra or a beach photo, it is so comfortable! My mouse lives on the corner of my desk in a perpetual loop of being knocked to the floor. This mat is large and oblong enough to rest on the corner edge firmly. This way, I end up resting my wrist on the thick edge of the mat in the most comfortable fashion, with the foam molding to the corner. The slant on the cusion even helps it stay oriented to my screen. Occasionally in my marathon chrysilis, I lean in awkward positions; this mat is a perfect elbow cushion. Plus, it arrived on Black Friday when I purchased a bunch of new PC games, thus the commendable rating. 5
