    This product works really well at catching hair. It ... This product works really well at catching hair. It may work a little too well. I have long hair, and I only wash it about once or twice a week. When I shower, I SHED-- a lot. It is not uncommon for one shower to clog up the filters. Additionally, the small strainer can get clogged by the reside from soap, shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream...I would probably not keep it in a shower used only by kids (even teenagers) who cannot be trusted to clean it during/after EACH and every shower. Not only does the caught hair need to be removed, but you need to give it a thorough rinse to get rid of the soap residue.All this being said, this has drastically reduced the amount of drain-unclogging I've done in the past year or so. 4This is very good at catching hair This is very good at catching hair, and it's held up nicely for the past two and a half years. I just put a little bleach on it when it starts looking dirty. My shower does start to fill up with water at the bottom if I forget to clean the hair from it for a couple showers, but if I pull off the hair right after every shower I don't have that problem. 5Catches hair, slows water drainage This product is great for catching hair in the shower to minimize the amount of hair that goes down the drain. It works great and stays in place. The only issue I have is that it slows the drainage of water. Obviously it's going to, since the holes are so small. So, if you have a high water flow rate from your shower, you might get a pool of water in your shower. Doesn't bother me at all, since it drains completely once the water is turned off. Shouldn't really be an problem unless you take hour long showers. 4Better Than Expected After snaking my clogged drain and pulling out a large rat-sized mass or two or three of slimy hair wads, I vowed I would do anything in order to never have to do that again. This thing seems to work. It stays in place perfectly (over my flat drain), and it seems to catch everything. You might have to reach down and grab what it catches half-way through your shower and set it aside to discard afterward but better that than the drain snaking. Months later, the drain has not slowed even the tiniest bit. I feel like with this, and also switching from bar soap to shower gel, I MIGHT never have a clogged drain again? It is also easy to keep clean, stays white, and doesn't look offensive over my drain. 5Good product What can you say about a drain cover? It came as expected and works. I have it so that it sticks up not down in the drain. I think it is supposed to go either way? I'm not sure that it would fit into my drain but it works just find with the mesh part sticking up. Fine lint does clog the holes a little. It catches more than just hair. But you can easily pull the lint and things it traps out when it is dry. 4Simple, cheap, and perfect This strainer works perfectly. It's sturdy but flexible enough to close most of the gap between it and the shower floor. As soon as any water sits on the brim, its weight does the rest of the job and the gap underneath seals almost entirely. Instead, water goes through the strainer and hair is caught, exactly as it should. I bought the strainer to catch my dog's hair when I bathe him, but to my surprise, I shed almost as much as he does (and I'm not particularly hairy). I always clean the strained hair after every shower, and sometimes during the shower if I feel trapped water rising around my ankles.To my surprise, this cheap, simple design does much better than the more sophisticated-looking Steel Mesh Drain Strainer (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KH52ETS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), which I also bought. That strainer doesn't do the job. Its base of stainless mesh and foam isn't nearly flexible enough to seal properly around the shower drain. In my shower, its two small magnets are no help at all. They're weak to start with, and there doesn't seem to be any metal underneath my fiberglass shower shell for them to grab onto. The result is a substantial gap under the strainer through which most hair escapes.This is a happy instance where cheap and low-tech beats pricey and sophisticated. 5Works great This drain cover works really well for our drain which has a stopper that sticks up significantly. As one poster suggested, I cut a hole about 1.5 cm in diameter in the middle for the drain handle and then the cover can rest flat on the tub floor securely. It slows the water drainage a little, but this causes no problems and it does exactly what it advertises - it catches all the hair. I already ordered 2 more for the future since I love it. I wish I had known about this cover a long time ago. It would have saved me a lot of hassle since I have long thick hair which often clogs the drain. 5good job This was to go into our tub that had just been reglazed. We were told not to use anything with suctions and this answered the bill. It works very well. Careful you put it with the middle popping up, not into the drain. 5This is the one you want I bought one of the prettier clear ones with slits on it rather than these little holes. Within a couple of months, my bathtub drain was clogged & I was pulling hair out of it. This is the way to go! I had a similar one before. It worked well, but would slide around when water hit it. This one advertises that it stays put with water running on it. That is indeed truth in advertising. While running water out of the faucet to get the temperature adjusted, this drain cover doesn't budge. No suction cups on it, so I don't know how it works. I just know that it does. 5OK It's just OK. I think it works for some, and not for others. I will say, it will probably NOT fit over your pop-up drain cover. I had this problem, and had to pretty much unscrew the pop-up part, then put this Hair Snare on top of it. My hair is thick and curly...so this product did the trick for me and kept about 95% of the hair from going down the drain...BUT, I could see how if you have fine, straight hair, strands would slip right under this product since there's no suction to keep it around the drain and it can slip around. Several times, I noticed the drain cover would become so overwhelmed, the water would drain so slow that you'd be standing in it, causing me to stop and check or clean this drain cover. Overall, a decent product, but i'm thinking there may be better ones out there. 3
