Customer Reviews

Great for a cheap set! Bad if looking for high quality. The current, 11/5/2017, 3/5 rating review couldn't be more accurate. These tools are enough to do the job, but the socket holder/storage case it comes with is just low quality. Most of the sockets do not fit "just right" they have a little extra wiggle room - relative to the wrench that they are supposed to attach onto. Which is quite amazing seeing as sockets are literally designed to fit certain bolts, so you'd think it would be easy to design the connection point between the wrench and socket. Well, in this case, you'd be wrong. However, for a small set for someone that only deals with sockets minimally, this is a very good deal. If you want something high quality that you'll use often, go elsewhere or you'll just be wasting time trying to make everything work right. 3i had it over ten years, so not a bad little set to have lasted that long.. i purchased this exact set here on Amazon in 2006 for a little less than $5.. The socket wrench died using it yesterday....So i guess it lasted over 10 years of infrequent but somewhat abusive use, which is not bad for what it is and what I paid.I would not give 4 four stars, but to be fair while it is not very high quality it really did last. I do a lot of DIY . I have spent thousands on tools over the years. This little set was a great little set, handy dandy for small jobs. I will end up spending more just the replace the socket... 4I can't say enough bad about it The only good thing about this is that the case holds things just well enough if you close it quickly and hold it tightly, it makes it feasible toss the whole thing in the trash at once. The sockets are 'not quite right' in size. Pretty close and mostly usable but not quite right. Then there's the ratchet...which doesn't ratchet. Might get one turn out of it before it locks up. If the sockets attached to it or the extension properly, it would still almost be usable. But they don't. I am a firm believer in you get what you pay for but this is something that would get rare use to assemble things like furniture and a ratchet isn't exactly a high-tech device. Honestly, I was expecting more low quality as opposed to no quality. I can't recommend enough that this be avoided even if you have the very minimal use case in mind for this and thinking that it "can't be that bad", I assure you that it can. 1Thin/weak sockets. Buy something else. The sockets are inferior. They tear if too much pressure is applied to remove a stuck bolt. Buy something else for any heavy work. 1Only useful for melting down and using the material to make ... Ratchet broke during first use. Very poorly finished sockets. Only useful for melting down and using the material to make quality products, unless the material is also bad. Not worth the price. 1Beware, the sockets strip out real fast. Beware, the sockets strip out real fast. I needed something cheap but the quarter inch socket I was using lasted about a day. A few uses and bingo it stripped out. 1Defective from the start. The sockets seem good enough but the ratchet is worthless and is already loose and wobbly right out of the box. Also, the box will not keep the pieces in place. If you just lean it to one side it all falls off and you have to rearrange it all every time you want to use it. 1Quality consistent with price While the price is right, particularly with Prime, the quality is very low. If you're looking to do basic household assembly, such as putting together furniture, etc., then this kit might suffice. However, I was able to break the ratchet by hand while working underneath a Honda. In a confined space, I was literally able to push hard enough to strip the gears in the ratchet. So, if you're hoping to use this to do anything remotely mechanical or automotive-related, I suggest you look elsewhere. 2good value to the price. but don't expect more than the price - i think i might have received a returned one cuz i see some normal wear, but it is fine.- i read many of the reviews here before i placed my order, the only concern i had in mind is that it might not hold too much force as many reported. but since im only doing some brake replacement job, i thought it should be fine. and it seems just as tough as other regular ones to me after i got it in hand.- Ok, here comes the problem: once i was trying to bleed the brake line. i found myself need 10mm socket, which i found it missing =( there are 13,12,11,_,9,8... all sizes but not 10... i had to borrow it from neighbor =( after reported to Amazon and request a return, which is quite easy. i got full refund.- i guess im gonna go purchase the Stanley set instead. But due to the easy return and the not-as-reported-weak good shape, im still giving it a 3-star. 3Poorly Made Tool Set Poorly made tool kit. Very cheap plastic handle was not securely attached to the metric sized driver and broke when trying to use for first time. Should include metric attachment for socket wrench. Was trying to use this set to make a small vehicle repair while on vacation. I was lucky enough motel staff had tools I could use to finish my repair. I'd recommend looking at a better set for a little more money. 1
