Customer Reviews

Looks good, Design flaw, really wanted to like itWorked well for a little while and looks nice, has design flaw. The on off knob has a chrome button that that slides over top of the actuall working black plastic knob. The outside one has too large inside diameter and does not grab onto the real knob making it so you cannot actually turn the lamp on and off. Easy fix at first, i slipped some paper in between the two knobs to take up the slack, it worked well but after a few weeks it would start slipping again because the paper would wear out. After the 3rd or 4th time replacing the paper i got tired of it and put s dab of glue on inside of knob. Well now it toast, glue must of grabbed something else and button will not turn to turn on and off so its now broken. If the flaw wasnt there from thr manufactuer i wouldnt have resoroted to trying to fix it. So you might as well say it was broken out of the box and i made the mistske of not returning it.1Had it not had an immediate function failure it would have gotten 5 stars.I bought them as a pair and if one had not broken the first time the rotary switch was turned on I would have rated higher. Essentially the light was on continual so we went and purchased a plug in switch to allow us to turn on and off as needed. Aesthetically they are quite nice, and can be either hard wired or plug in which is a great feature. The other really cool thing is the wire is clear so running down wall is not even noticeable! Unfortunately the one on off switch failed immediately.3Fabulous light at a price that can't be beat. We were looking for stylish bedside reading lights that we could put on the wall to de-clutter our bedside tables. These work perfectly. The on/off switch on the front is very convenient and the like guts give a nice golden glow with the Edison bulbs. They are pretty bright due to no shade covering - we opted to use 40 rather than 60 watt bulbs and there is still ample light to read by. 5Needs some improvement but does the job. I'm debating between 3 and 4 stars. Does it work? Yes. Is it spectacular? Definitely not. I ordered 2 to put over a sofa bed that is ordered. Opened the first box and the knob to turn the lamp on/off is not on the light. It's in the box. Pull out the second light and while that knob is on, after 4 or 5 turns back and forth, it too comes off the light. Reason? The glue sucks. The cover has some sort of glue to cover the knob and twisting takes the glue off. Solution? Pluck off the glue and wrap some masking tape around it. The tape provides the friction needed for the cover to turn the knob. There is the 1st star gone.Next annoying thing which has me teetering between 3 and 4 stars is mounting the thing. With such tedious screw placement needed, a pattern would have been helpful to align the holes. But there isn't one. Soooo I unscrew the back of the light allowing me to line up the holes. Plus side? I got that back piece on there really snug. Downside... it was annoying. 4RUUUNNNNNNN Very very cheap!I was so excited when this arrived!!! I painted it copper so I could mount it ASAP! After painting it, when we tried to mount it the back holes were crooked making the mount look 45 degrees! So we said ok, lets match the retarded holes to make it work.... after doing that, the lamp was not flushed to the wall BECAUSE the glass is HEAVIER than what the little chicken arms can hold! So the screws to the chicken arms get loose immediately! All around this is not worth 5 dollars! We tried to make it work even after the obstacles but we lost interest after trying and trying!1Caution!! Beware!!! This item is a piece of crap. Please view my video. Installing it probably takes an engineer to do it correctly, and even then it wobbles, the screws never tighten, parts don t fit correctly. I ve measured, drilled holes , installed, crooked and loose. I start over again with slight adjustments, still crooked! The glass part is way too heavy for the flimsy arm to hold, so it now tilts down. Second time that it was crooked I decided to drill a hole within the inside part that you screw to the wall. Still crooked! Now I m stuck with a loose , cheap, and crooked piece of crap hanging from my wall.1Nice looking lamps Nice looking lamps! We got two to mount above our headboard and use at bed reading lamps (paired with the Edison style bulbs, obviously). My only complaint is that the instructions are slightly confusing. You have to take the back plate off of the lamp mount by undoing the screws. The instructions show them together the entire time. Once you figure that out, everything else is pretty easy. 4Flimsy This lamp bends about an inch under its own weight. Ridiculously flimsy. 1It looks more expensive than it actually isThis plug in sconce is really nice. Since I Rent my apartment electrical work is not really an option for me. I ordered it on a Friday and it came Sunday at 11 Am . It was simple to install and I used a cord cover to conceal the cord and painted it the color of the wall. I also have it hooked up to Alexa so it s pretty cool to turn it on and off via echo or my phone.5Pretty and great design but longer cord would have been great.Love this light. Love how you can disconnect the cord from the plug. Came in handy when I needed to put the cord through a small hole to get to outlet. Only thing that would have made it even better was a longer cord. I need about 8 foot to have enough to put it where I wanted so got to buy more cord and splice it to the original but very great and pretty light with a great thought out feature.5Exactly what I wanted These are perfect and a SUPER great price. Read directions for installation, the plate comes off (I did not hardwire). The switch is on the base so put it somewhere you are comfortable to reach if you are in bed. I have short arms, but it's fine, they look really good. 5This is beautiful, but not as sturdy as I was hoping ... This is beautiful, but not as sturdy as I was hoping for. The lamp (like other reviews said) sort of struggles to hold the glass shade when extended fully. I do not need to use the arm function extended, so it works fine for my purposes. Very, very pretty. Also does not get overly hot when it has been on for some time. I use a regular white light spiral bulb in it for optimum light. I would recommend as a wall lamp, but not as an extending wall lamp. As pretty as it it, I probably wouldn't buy it again, just because I think it should feel more secure when extended. Pretty easy to hang but would be faster with two people. 4I use these lights at my vanity in the master bedroomI use these lights at my vanity in the master bedroom. It was a bit too dark for applying makeup and I didn't want to have to hire an electrician to put up lights. My husband had these put up in under a half an hour. I only gave it a four star as one light turn knob gives me some stubbornness once in a great while. And I do wish the arm swung a little bit easier. But I also have the onset of arthritis in my fingers and the one knob I have to sometimes turn it a few times for it to click off. For a sleek modern look these are nice. Instead of the gaudy looking vanity strip lights you usually see these are so much more aseptically pleasing.4Very Happy with Purchase Awesome lights that actually look better in person than on pictures. Feels solid and appears to be well made. Took me about 15 min to install each one (not hard wired) 5easy to fix with a small washer Weight of glass pulls the arms down and makes the light look uneven. Overall, easy to fix with a small washer. Love the look and style and the PRICE is great!! 3Works mounted upward too. Ok qualityWas trying to match another lamp I bought here on Amazon. Looks decent from 5ft away. Mounted it upward and hardwired. The glass shade is a bit too heavy for the arm. Might replace or remove it. It's definitely a flimsy arm and bracket. Not a lot of faith hardwiring this for extended use. Seems to be about right for the $27 price. If they made a beefier one in chrome I would have bought that. Using a half chrome bulb in it.4Decent...I got this light to sit over my bed side table. I really enjoy the chrome finish on it, as it matches the other stuff I have in my room. The arm of the light is a little sad though. It hangs crooked whenever I extend the arm, and makes it look cheap. I also which the glass was frosted as I think its too much light for just a glass protector. It was an easy enough fix with some spray paint though.3Nice lightI bought two of the LeClair lights to put over the queen bed in one of our guest bedrooms. It worked great to eliminate the tabletop lights and free up space on the nightstands, and the light look great. Installation wa a little tricky to make sure they were both at the same height and placement above the bed.4Love, love, love. I did not hard wire these lights. I specifically bought them because they could be used without hardwiring--I wanted the ability to change my mind as to location with minimal effort (i.e., filler and paint). I use these are reading lamps to flank my bed and they are wonderful. I bought Edison bulbs to go with them, but I imagine standard LEDs wouldn't look bad either--though the spiral set lights would look a bit more obvious, but I suppose it ultimately depends on your use and purpose for them. I installed them myself in about 10 minutes (for two) with little effort (i.e, measuring tape, pencil, level, drill). Look great. Work great. Good price. 5
