    Solid Mailbox but Designed to Be Attached to Wall (not post) Solid-feeling mailbox. I wish that there was a silver fleur-de-lis option, though. I mounted this onto a 1x6 inch board (near our front door), and this is my only gripe with the design of this mailbox. The sides of the mailbox extend back beyond the back wall of the mailbox (about 0.5 inches)--this design allows the lid to flip up and back and still have clearance. However, because of this design you can't mount it directly onto a 1x6 inch board, b/c the mailbox is a little wider than that (so it won't sit flush on the board). This mailbox would fit just fine onto a 1x8 inch board, however. So I had to cut a piece of wood (approximately the same size as the back panel of the mailbox) to insert behind the mailbox. This holds the mailbox out 0.75 inches from the 1x6 inch board. 4I used this to make a lint garbage can for my laundry room I used this to make a lint garbage can for my laundry room! It is the perfect size and is durable! 5Easy install, just follow the instructions Easy to install if you follow the instructions. 3 screws needed, not included. All you have to do is put two screws 3 1/2" apart on the wall, let them extend about an inch or so. Hang the mailbox on these two screws. Mark and insert a screw into the center hole for the third screw-this is what holds it in place and keeps is from falling off the wall. Tighten all screws so they JUST seat to the metal, do not over tighten. Yes the back will not be flush to the wall but the sides will be. No need to add wood or anything else as others have suggested. That's it. Easy peasy. As far as the quality, I think it is great. I looked at some other mailboxes at Lowes for twice the price and the lids were lightweight and looked like they could bend easily. This lid is nice and sturdy and seems like it will hold up. Yes it's small, but if that's the size you want I think you will be pleased. 5Cute little mailbox This is great for a home that doesn't have much space where you may need to attach a mailbox to the house. its small but adequately fits large letters but manila like envelopes size items would need to be slightly folded if they can be. I could some small first class packages fitting in this just fine. I purchased this though not for our home but for my daughters pretend Paris cafe. I wanted one that was smallish but not kids size small and this was perfect. I thought it would be fun for her and her sister to pretend to deliver mail to each other. I spray painted it hot pink. I have seen my daughters put their fake food and stuff it fullwidth other toys and it has held up just fine to them and other children. Not sure if that helps for someone who is using it outside but it sure worked great for their playroom. 5Great LINT box for the laundry room......Very Cute Perfect. I put a decal that says 'LINT' on it and hung it in my laundry room (no room for a trash can in there). It looks stylish, heavy duty for regular use and keeps all that dryer link in one place until it's full. 5Works great as lint box Used this little mailbox as a lint collector in my laundry room attached to the wall and it works great for what I needed. Perfect size and price. Took a piece of 1x5 which I attached to the wall into studs and then screwed the mailbox onto the wood. The little emblem comes separately and so I didn't have to take it off as I had thought I would. Overall a great little box. 5Flaw in mounting design Was looking for a cheap mailbox I could slap up to the siding on the house. Not so easy Mister. If you simply put a couple screws thru the mounting holes and snug them up enough so the box dont want to come off when you open the lid then you cannot open the lid fully. The back of the lid has a rounded shape and if back of the mailbox is secure to the wall the rounded lip hits the siding about half way open. So at that point you have two options. You either have to attach a piece of wood to the back of the mailbox that will make the box come out from the siding, or you can take option 2 and bend the round lip down with plyers or similar. Use a rage to cover metal or you will chip the paint. I chose option 2 because I am not using it for official USPS business. Its more of an internal use. But still, why did you design like that? Well, I accomplished the cheap part of the equation. The quick and easy not so much 2Simple, Clean, Elegant Mailbox I am absolutely happy with this mailbox! I decided to buy my own because I did not like the one provided by my new landlord.Pros:-lightweight-nice aesthetic design with the fleur de lisCons:-wall mount not included-fleur de lis ornament is hard to snap in place (I had to use a small hammer to insert in designated holes)For the price, it's made well, it looks nice and it holds a substantial amount of mail, including a magazine. I highly recommend this product.**Pictures included: front view, back view, inside view 5My mistake buying such a small mailbox! I purchased this as a temporary mailbox while contractors were working on my house. I bought it because it was the cheapest box out there, but I didn't realize how tiny it was! It's so small that the postal delivery workers had enough trouble fitting mail in it, that they ended up pulling it off the wall. I'm glad it was meant as a temporary box, and I'm back to my normal one again, but be aware just how small this is before you buy it! 2Take note, it's small, mounting not ideal and there's no red outbound mail indicator But we love it. Perfect for ordinary mail but keep in mind that any 8-1/2" x 11" envelopes and magazines will be folded and crammed into your box while stick out of the top. So, if you want a mailbox that does not visibly indicate that you're not home, buy something larger. Finally, I would say that the design makes mounting a little tricky. There are 3 screw holes on top but none on the bottom. The back is also recessed so I had to mount a 1/2" thick piece of cedar wood to make it flush. 4
