Customer Reviews

Genie GM3T-BX Three Button Remote Control This replaced an "ancient" Genie GT90-1 remote control. After I realized that the switches inside have 3 positions, I was able to easily set them to match my existing remote control. The instructions packed inside the box are "all purpose" and you need to decide which set you need to follow. (Not difficult.) The switches are tiny in comparison to the unit I replaced and a little but stiff, but moved well enough. On the packing slip are customer service telephone numbers for The Genie Company and Chamberlain LiftMaster. Below them is an explanation of why the range of the remote may not be as long as expected. "With the obsolescence of the basic incandescent light bulb. it has come to our attention that there are certain brands or types of LED CFL bulbs that can cause interference with the radio signals. The LED CFL bulbs can have an effect on the operation of nearby devices, such as affecting the transmitter range for remote operation of a garage door opener." I have a CFL bulb installed in the opener -- don't know the brand -- but it hasn't affected the range. This new remote works as far away as the original. 5Works for Genie AT95 but best to watch Youtube how-to videos YAY! This DOES work for the old Genie AT95 9- or 12-pin-code remotes. But the best thing to do is start by going out to your garage, taking the cover off the garage door opener power unit or side unit with the antenna, and count the number of pin thingies and note their position. Just start with that rather than spend hours trying to figure out whether your old AT95 is a 9- pin or a 12-pin or what.Second, there are some Youtube videos that explain how to set the new Genie GM3T-BX to replace an AT95 much better than the instructions that come with the GM3t-BX. Just watch the Youtube videos and save yourself the frustration and time.I went to my garage, got a ladder, took the plastic cover off the unit with the antenna, found the nine switches, noted their positions, and was able to set the GM3T-BX in a couple of tries. "D" is the setting on the GM3t-BX if your existing power unit is a 9-switch one. Mistakenly tried "C" first but when I set it with "D" EUREKA.Thanks to whoever put the Youtube videos up. 4Decent remote I like this item. It's a lot smaller than the other remote but works well. The reason for the 4 star instead of 5 star is that the directions included were pretty vague. With some experimentation I got it set to open to my garage door. After that it has worked very well. One drawback is that it doesn't seem to have the range of my previous remote, but that's okay, it opens the door and that was what I needed. 4Geniemaster Remote Model# GM3T This 3 button remote is supposed to work on all genie gated community receivers, Genie 912 units, and Intellicode1 and 2 openers from 1993 to present. I have two older intellicode garage door openers that were installed in 1996. I wanted to program the top and bottom buttons to operate my opener. Only the first two buttons will work on the remote. The third does not program with my openers. So this product is not a universal remote as described. Once again Genie has a compatibility problem with their own products. Previous models have had similar issues. OK product that begs the question: why can't Genie get it right?Genie Geniemaster Remote 2Was easy to program Was easy to program. Works 98% of the time on the first push. I find you have to have patience with it and not push the button continuously like a crazed maniac to open the door. If you are trying to get away from someone following you...this is not the remote that will open the door from down the street. I have to be in my driveway with the remote facing the garage for it to work. 4Universal Genie door opener This remote will work with any Genie opener, but you must know which type you have (intellisense, Intellisense II, dip switches, etc.). If you set one of the buttons incorrectly, you MUST clear that before you can change the settings (took me a while to figure this out).Instructions are extremely comprehensive. While you won't need most of them (as they cover every possible setup), you do need to study them carefully to figure out what you do need to do. It is also helpful to pull out the user manual for the garage door opener itself (get it from the Genie website if you've misplaced yours) handy. 5Excellent After moving to our new house we realized that the existing garage door opener had only one very bulky remote. We purchased (and returnet) a series of controls and not one was able to be programmed to work this particular opener (pre 1995). One of the helpers at the hardware store suggested we purchase it through the internet. The rest is history; it works wonders and we purchased two. 5Dependable Genie Brand There is nothing wrong with this garage door opener except it would be much more convenient to me if it had an attachment for a key ring or coil which has always been on my previous garage remotes. Since I ordered another Genie remote which looked identical to the Genie remote that broke (after 4 years of usage), I never even thought to check for a key ring, so that error was mine. I still think Genie is a reputable and trustworthy brand. Other than that, this remote works well. 4Worked with old Overhead Door Legacy opener, but there are better devices Easily connected to my old Overhead Door Legacy garage door opener. Even though I have no use for the other two buttons, it still is a good buy and am very pleased. Remotes of my old system are difficult to fine. One objection is that the transmitted signal is just as weak as the older model remote. Usually have to press button multiple times to get any action. Was hoping for some improvement here, but, I guess, Genie is content mediocre products.Update: This unit, while it did function, was slow and hesitant in operation. I suggest another model sold by Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013WI6D3O/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1), which functions extremely well. 4Good replacement for OLD Genie garage door opener remotes Got this as an extra remote opener for a very old Genie Garage door opener. What I needed to do to set it up was at the bottom of the instruction. I had to open the control unit and put that code into the remote. I was confused at first. I wasn't familiar with some of the terminology. I checked the internet and found something that helped. But when I went back to the instructions provided, they did tell me exactly what to do. I really can't complain. The remote work well for me. Smaller and more solid feel than the ancient remotes I still have. Opens the door. Decent price. 5
