Amazingly bright, but perhaps not quite light sensitive enough REALLY bright! But it stays on in "twilight" conditions (a daytime garage), and that is unfortunate. Don't think the light sensitivity can be adjusted, but not sure.Did I mention BRIGHT? VERY impressive in that regard. We usually don't turn on our garage lights when we venture out there at night. No need with this puppy. 4Beautiful warm bright light Our new home is a one story and it can be really dark in the middle of the home since the window light doesn t reach the hallways and center areas. I wanted to find a really bright light that can illuminate our new home and these are perfect! I bought one to see if the lumen estimate was accurate and it really was.It s the brightest night light I ve ever seen and it can brighten up a bathroom and kitchen to the point where you don t need to turn on the ceiling light. I also have one that s always on in our hallway since it s weirdly dark even in the middle of the day. It has two modes- always on or light sensored. Since it s so cheap and efficient to run energy wise I don t feel guilty about leaving them on 24/7. Having the bathroom and kitchen night lights on sensors have probably actually saved electricity since they are so bright it eliminates the need to use the main lights (our bathrooms have 8 vanity bulbs each).For bedroom use- If you can t sleep with bright lights you should move onto another light. I probably wouldn t use these in a bedroom because they are actually TOO bright for me lol. People with kids who are afraid of the dark might like these in their bedrooms. 5produces a significant amount of light, but runs 24/7 because auto on/off sensor is useless This produces a serious amount of light, almost as much as a desk lamp, so if you need a lot of light, this may be the product for you. However, I was looking for something with an automatic sensor that would turn on at night and switch off during daylight. Unfortunately, the sensor doesn't work. Not at all. Even in direct sunlight, it stays on 24/7. That means I have to manually turn this on every night and then try to remember to shut if off again in the morning, which is kind of a pain. I suspect the problem might be the fact that this light is so strong. In order for the 100 lumens it produces not to turn itself off every time the light comes on, the threshold needs to be set so high that nothing short of launching this into the sun's corona is powerful enough to trigger the off sensor. Big disappointment. I would return, but my wife threw out the packaging. At least its low power consumption LED so if you leave it on 24/7 it won't run up your electric bill too bad. And it does product a lot more light than those smaller devices with functional sensors that do what they're supposed to. Hence my decision to give three stars instead of two. 3The best I've used so far It's perfect for large rooms or hallways. I love this feature: The light brightness output varies inversely with the surrounding brightness input to the sensor...meaning when the surrounding is dark, light output is about 70 lumen; when well-lit, light output is zero lumen; when medium-lit, light output is about 40 lumen. I have used many other night lights and they're either on or off. But this one's lumen output varies up and down depending on the surrounding light - a great design. I bought a 2nd one after testing the first. Highly recommend. 5Soiay vs Maxxima vs GE LED night lights Very little light from these units. I have tried Soaiy lights, Maxxima MLN-50 5 LED Night Lights, and GE 12498 LED Night Light. The Soaiy lights are the least bright. The Maxxima and Soaiy lights have a nice bright white light. The GE LED while the brightest is also more yellow soft white looking. I took the soairy lights out of the hallways (too dim) and placed them in the kitchen above countertops. For the hallways I used the Maxxima. For our downstairs laundry room/powder room I used the brightest GE LED's Right below the window so unit comes on at night only.Soaiy: Smallest foot print taking up least amount of room. Dimmest of the 3 I have. These are not bright enough for me and would not purchase them again.Maxxima: Larger footprint than Soaiy. Much brighter than Soaiy. These are the lights I have repurchased to use around the house.GE LED: These have the largest footprint of all the lights. They produce a lot of light for led units. I do not like how yellow they are, the yellow makes them appear to be dimmer than they are. Even tho these are the brightest I would hesitate to purchase them again because of the color and size of the lightsAs a side note, I had my house hard wired with Pass & Seymour Enhanced Decorator Hallway Lights (Both full and half). Now couple years later they are all so dim I need to replace them. I will only buy the plug in type and when these go dim (so far all led's do in time) throw them out.LED's might be rated 20 years but doubt you they are still throwing usable light. 4GE may bring good things to life, but... I also bought this, because of it's from GE. I also liked that I could retain access to the 2nd outlet, and the light sensor. This light is bright enough, that I don't have to turn on the overhead light in my kitchen. In my opinion, there is no discernible difference between the supposed 3 different light settings. As an aside, I have no clue what soft light is supposed to be, as it relates to this thing. As far as the light sensor goes, that worked the first day. Yesterday I turned it on before 3:00. Since it is next to a window, you'd think it would have remained off for another hour at least. It came on in the "auto" setting. Switched itself off. Then it came on again, and stayed on. It was still on this morning. So, that's an issue. The morning after it arrived, it worked like a charm. 3A bright light bar, not a nightlight I wouldn't call this a nightlight. I'm using this in my kitchen....I used to keep the light on above the kitchen sink all night long in case I got up to use the restroom I didn't want to step on either of my cats in the dark. This saves a lot of electricity, even though I was using LED bulbs in my kitchen sink light also (1.8 watts for this). 100 lumens is brighter than I thought it'd be. Also good for having on as the only light source while watching TV. This casts a light in my dining area as well as my living room (open floor plan) besides the kitchen. It doesn't get warm, which makes me feel like it's safe. I leave it on AUTO and it comes on when the sun starts going down and turns off around 8:00 to 8:30 AM....however, on cloudy days when the blinds are shut it's on 24/7. 5Bright Light I gave it 4 stars because it s a good product, but it s not easy to avoid looking directly at the light. It is rough on the eyes. For many years now I have been using 2 GE lights similar to this under my kitchen cabinets. The light are still working but because they have fluorescent type bulbs the light isn t very strong so I decided it s time for new lights. I was happy to have found these small light bars years ago to light the areas under my cabinets because I have plugs to use and didn t have to pay to have lights installed. I was surprised to find the lights that I like so much (size, auto on/off) still available but improved with an update type of light. These LEDs are good for daytime use but too bright to keep on at night. Also, like a lot of LED bulbs there is just an unpleasant glare when you look directly at them, and where my plugs are under my cabinets there is no way not to look directly at the lights. I cannot use them and unfortunately missed the return date cut off. I m sure this would be a good light for some people, just not for me. 4Very Bright! A+++++ My dog can't see really well because she's getting older so I always put night lights but they never really helped her until I found this GE product. Very bright!!! I love it and she love it! I can even monitor her better on her camera at night time. (Please see photos) 5Lovely bright light Very bright! Many of the inexpensive 'night lights' are dim, but not this one.I bought one then purchased two more!One is in my mud room (approx 8x10) and it lights up the entire room. There is no need to turn on the overhead light to get a jacket or see into a cupboard. I have another one as my porch light (protected from the rain) and it easily lights up that area. The third one I have in a seldom-used room; it also shines down the hallway at night.I do notice that the one in the room stays on a lot during cloudy & rainy days in winter. But for just a couple of watts usage, so what? 5
