Could be better for the price Not bad... zippers could be stiffer... the stitching on the corners is a bit off causing the zippers to have a tough time around the corners. The padding is a bit too cheap of foam, some denser foam would have been nice. It has a "seatbelt" for your keys that is a good idea. (though I put in a piece of foam to protect the center...3 straps would have been ideal). The fabric is good though mine had a big line across the front due to some manufacturing error (not that big a deal as it is cosmetic). The handles have a stiff plastic bar in each loop making the carry more comfortable. The outer pocket has this mesh fabric that is not a great idea as it catches on things.All in all not bad but the price is too expensive. I paid around $90 and feel the value is not that great. I bought a skateboard bag for a 49-k controller and I like it much better. It really seems that there are not a lot of decent gig bags for keyboards. I have the gator guitar gig bag that is MUCH nicer. I bought this based on that and am a bit disappointing. 3Fits the Yamaha NP-12 like a glove I use this for vacation travel with a small Yamaha keyboard (61-key NP-12) and it fits snugly from end to end with lots of space on top to pack songbooks, the music stand and power supply, and even some art supplies. I especially like the sturdy straps inside that wrap around the keyboard and keep it in place. I wouldn't put anything important in the outer pocket though, unless it's not breakable.So overall I'm very happy with the purchase for my situation. Your mileage may differ of course: The NP-12 is a light, inexpensive keyboard, and I'm packing it on top of suitcases personally (not entrusting it to roadies who will throw it a van). 5DIY fitting Since this bag is marketted for an entire class of keyboard, it is oversized for most of the keyboards in the class. Somewhat oversized for the Casio CDP-130. The built-in padding is not heavy, for example I would not trust it to protect the keyboard against a length-wise fall. And it is going to be more difficult than I'd hoped to arrange for shoulder-straps for use with it.Those limitations written, the bag has good points: it appears the bag would also accomodate my son's older keyboard; the hull seems quite durable; plenty of storage for accessories. The roominess means additional padding can be added; I -may- cut a large block of foam snug into the bag and relieved just enough for the keyboard: in effect -fitting- the bag to a particular keyboard. As tough as is the hull, it seems one could install rings for shoulder straps at the ends so the keyboard is bearing the weight when carried ... or settle for the handles. Certainly that hull should bear a lot of abuse. Plenty of room in the main compartment for the music for a long set; and room for cables, mic, pedal, etc in the outer compartments. Looks as though a mini tablet would fit there if needed.Purchased in something of a hurry when my son's band looked to be about to start playing gigs and needing to move equipment frequently: needed -something- to keep out drinks and prevent damage from casual bumps, etc. My experiences with Gator products for guitars encouraged this purchase. Though modestly satisfied with the result, and while this bag does have potential, I'd have been better served to plan ahead and examine bags hands-on and getting something easier to fit (or fitted) and with integral shoulder-straps. 3Bagman is happy! My wife calls me Bagman because I have a bag for each and every one of my toys. This case is a well made, nicely padded bag that holds my Yamaha YPG-235 like it was made for it.The music stand fits perfectly in the larger outside pocket, and you can fit a few music books in the smaller net outside pocket. The straps to hold the keyboard in place are heavily padded, and have plenty of velcro to accomidate different size keyboards.The handle is comfortable and rugged like the entire bag. The zippers are heavy duty, with nice rugged metal and cloth pulls.I could not be more pleased.UPDATE:Jan 2014I recently ordered a World Tour gigbag for the Yamaha YPT340 that my wife bought me for Christmas. I figured this inexpensive keyboard only warranted an inexpensive case. I returned the WT bag after using it for a couple of weeks (see my review), and ordered the 61 key version of this Gator bag. It is more than twice the price of the WT bag, but at least ten times the bag! 5Good news for Korg SV-1 73 owners! It was tough to get this answer ahead of time, but here it is: the Slim version, even though the spec numbers don't seem to add up, is a great fit for the Korg SV-1 73-note keyboard. The one hitch is that you will need to remove the two foam-padded straps inside the bag. I just used a tough pair of scissors and worked slowly and carefully, and it took about five minutes.I had initially ordered the non-Slim version of the bag, and my Korg was just swimming in it, even with those internal straps -- it just didn't really work. I like the design of the bag, and so I went ahead and ordered the Slim model, ready to return one of the two bags. The bigger version went back and the refund came through, and all is well in my world.If you're into the math, it's like this: Amazon lists the depth of the Slim bag at 12", and the keyboard depth spec is just over 13.5". Two things encouraged me: a Korg rep said that the depth is actually 12.5" (so the Amazon listing is off), and the particular design of the Korg SV-1 is very rounded along the back edge, as opposed to boxy and squared-off. I figured that inch or so of play would hopefully be a non-issue, and it is. The case offers a snug fit, which I really like, nothing's sliding around. If I can find a soft bag for my pedal, it looks like that would fill in on the right or left end of the case nicely, since -- at first glance, anyway -- the outer pocket seems a little shallow for a pedal (but perfect for a guitar cord and power cable. 5Big improvement over the cheaper cases -- good value I purchased this bag as a replacement for a cheaper, lightweight gig bag that I purchased for 1/2 the price of this. Even though I 'babied' the old bag, the zippers failed after a couple of year of occasional use. Really, a waste of money.I did a lot of research looking for a replacement bag that was lightweight, not too bulky, properly fit my keyboard, but was rugged and could stand up to abuse. Especially important were heavy duty zippers and decent handles.This bag is 10x more rugged with very heavy duty zippers, but was only $50 more than the bag it replaced. It is well padded with padded straps to hold the keyboard in place, grips on the bottom, but not too heavy or bulky.Large and small pockets in front are sized to be useful. Small pocket is mesh--good for the few small items you want to 'see'. Large pocket big enough for pedal, power supply, cables and a Real Book. Excellent handles are large enough for two hands and have large round rods embedded in them so they are comfortable to the grip. No shoulder strap, but such straps are impractical for 88 key boards--I never use one anyway.The old Gator cases had a huge, ugly 'Gator' logo on the front--one reason that I chose not to purchase one earlier. This newer design a small, embossed logo. Much better looking.Nothing is worse than gig bags that are poorly sized. Although slightly larger than my old bag, this is not too big (slim, 88 key size). My Yamaha P-140 fit snugly and the bag should be well suited to many similarly sized stage pianos.So far, I'm very happy with this bag. A rugged, lightweight bag that is not to bulky, heavy duty zippers and a good value. 5Happy to find a reasonably priced soft case that fits ... So excited this fits my Wurlitzer electric piano. Happy to find a reasonably priced soft case that fits that massive keyboard. Wurlitzer electric pianos are 64 keys. Wurlitzer dimensions are 40 x 19 x 7.5 . It s a perfect fit. It has pvc pipe material inside the handle to help support heavy lifting. It d be great if it had side handles, but I m just happy to find something that fits the piano. Seems really good quality. Should last for many years unless you re touring constantly in which case a heavy duty road case is the way to go. 5Solid gig bag. This is a very good gig bag for my Yamaha P95 keyboard. Overall, the bag is well-constructed. The padding on the sides is very thick, which prevents damage as I move the keyboard around. The padded interior straps keep the keyboard from moving around, and offer some protection to the top. Plus, the oversized zipper never gets caught (as it does on some soft cases).I recommend this bag, but there are two reasons why I can't give this a 5-star review. First, while the handles are comfortable for carrying the keyboard short distances, I wish there was a shoulder strap for those times when I need to carry it longer distances. Next, I wish they'd chosen a better material for the front pocket. The pocket is handy for pedals, sheet music, etc., but I wish it was made out of canvas instead of mesh. After a month or so the mesh was showing wear and tear (literally!). It snags easily on just about anything, and then tears because it's such a lightweight material. 4Pretty decent No complaints so far. Seems like it will protect my keyboard. It has maybe 0.25 or 0.5 inches of padding. If your keyboard is really expensive, you might consider a hard shell, but this case seems like a good bang for your buck. 5Excellent but could be better...... UPDATE: In the original review below I indicate that this bag is adequate for the Yamaha P-255 keyboard. I've changed my mind. While this keyboard will go into this bag, it takes two men and a boy to get it in (or my wife and I). It's a very tight fit length-wise (more than big enough in the other two dimensions). The dimensions would suggest a snug but not problematic fit. In reality it takes too much fiddling to get the P-255 into this bag.ORIGINAL REVIEW: Adequately sized for the Yamaha P255 and similar (do critically check dimensions before buying). The wide internal straps help stabilize the keyboard, nice if the case is a bit larger than you need. I'd rather have the case a bit larger rather than on the small side because it makes getting a 40 pound keyboard into it easier. The only thing I would have liked and that would have gotten the fifth star is stiffer side panels. While they are padded, they are not at all stiff and the force from a blow from bumping into something goes right to that spot on the keyboard rather than being spread out for less damage. Alternatively, an insert that would protect the key area would have been nice and provided about that same function. I'm looking for something about 3/8" thick and stiff enough to absorb blows and thereby protect the keys. 4
