Customer Reviews

It's made out of cheap plastic and cheap glue. In fact, I would give this product a half a star if there was an option to do so.It's just I had all these expectations of it being cute and matching the mouse I got for Christmas, not so much. This mouse pad was cheaply made. The darker plastic on the top started peeling off after a cold night and has been doing so ever since. And the glue, which ever kind it is, doesn't work at all. By the way I have cats and cat hair gets stuck to the glue,it seems like that's the only thing the glue can hold.Don't buy it, I don't recommend this to anyone! 1So much better on my wrist and heel of my hand This is light years better than using just a mouse pad without a wrist support. I tend to have wrist pain anyway (don't know if I have carpal tunnel syndrome or what) and this provides relief when I'm at my computer. Before I had this, my wrist and the heel of my hand would ache pretty badly nearly every day because I spend a lot of time writing and doing internet research. I almost got myself a wrist brace for the problem. But now that I have this, it's not nearly so bad.I like that the mouse pad itself is a little textured so the mouse doesn't slide around on it without my wanting it to. But it also doesn't provide resistance making it hard to scroll. The wrist support is extremely comfortable. Just firm enough without being hard, and with enough give to provide cushioning. It's also very easy to clean. Just use a damp cloth or paper towel and it's like new.One note is that the back surface is also silicone and sticky. This is great is you don't want the mouse pad to slide, but not so great if you're like me and tend to fidget and want to reposition it several times a day. If that's the case, you could just place a piece of paper under it and the problem is easily remedied. 5Small and not flat Summary: too small for a full size mouse, develops ripples. Not recommended particularly for MX Master mice.I've moved from a 3M mouse mat, using both a Logitech G5 and MX Master 1 / 2 mice. The Fellowes mouse mat is shorter but wider, which makes it less useful. The problem is I can't move the mouse pointer from the top to the bottom of my monitor without picking up the mouse and moving it on the mat. The mouse is quite large, so there's only 2.5cm/1in of vertical movement available. Before the mouse reaches the top of the page my mouse hits the raised lip. Changing mouse speed helps with this, but that's annoying because now my mouse pointer moves faster and it's more difficult to position accurately. Not having the lip on the mouse mat could help.Over the course of a couple of months the mouse mat went from flat to having ripples in it, which the G5 mouse coped with ok, but the MX Master mice don't work well with at all. Not being flat means the mouse mat is essentially useless, after 6 months use I've thrown it away and replaced it with a Kensington Duo, which so far is better - rigid and a little bigger. 2I like It Helps with wrist discomfort. No plastic smell, very comfortable and I am glad I purchased this one. I read a lot of reviews and wasn't sure , but in the end I am happy I chose this mousepad. It stays stationary, the gel padding is soft and I don't even notice I am resting on something (not sweaty or sticky) 5Undersurface smells moldy I inherited an old one of these with my current work computer. Functionally, it was great, but it always had this weird moldy smell that seemed like it was emanating from the undersurface. I tried wiping it down with alcohol wipes. Still smelled, but was fine as long as I didn't lift it up off the desk! After 9+ years, I accidentally punctured the gel wrist pad and needed a replacement. Got the new one and it has the same smell! I don't think it's mold/mildew. It's just whatever chemicals oozing out of the rubbery base material. Again, it's fine as long as I don't lift it up. It's possible that the off-gassing would peter out if I just flipped it upside down to air out. Haven't tried that yet. Four stars because it's comfortable and lasts forever. 4I want my money back I WANT MY MONEY BACK. But Amazon return policy says it's too late, so the best I can do is make sure you don't purchase this item. You have only to look at the photos to know why. Started noticing tiny bubbles after a couple of weeks but I'm not that fussy so I didn't bother with them. Now, after less than 3 months of fairly light use, this wrist rest is getting its disgusting snot gel all over my beautiful wood desk (and the elbows of too many shirts), and it's not easy to clean off. FELLOWES, you really owe me. Everybody else--don't get sucked in by the comfy, the failure may not be far behind. 1Decent pad with comfortable cushion Feels good and comfortable.Only drawback, I wonder how well it will hold up. It is clear that the plastic on top of the gel cushion is quite thin. You can see that if you turn it up side down. Any flexing will show "wrinkles" of the top, and it looks as if the top material is very thin. If it is breached... gel is usually a sticky mess.On the other hand, maybe it needs to be thin to get the best conforming feel for your wrist. 4Much Better Than the Memory Foam Type I had one of these from Fellowes before, but it was maybe an inch longer than this one, and also had some kind of material that covered the gel wrist support. This does not, so if your wrist sweats at all, you tend to stick to it. Also, almost all around the edge of the pad, where the mouse travels, there is a small lip that the mouse hangs-up on at times. Maybe I just got the one that happened to have that "defect". Anyway, it works out much better than the memory foam type mouse pad that I used for about a month, then had to order another with the gel. 4Didn't work with wired mouse We passed these purple mousepads out at the office and only the blue color mousepads worked. I thought the staff member was just being difficult when she told me, but I was shocked to discover that no one could get their mouse to read on a purple backdrop. Well, one person did, but it was bouncy and had awful lag time. And we foolishly did not return them in time. So... learn from us and don't go for the purple. 1Don't buy this! I bought this because I wanted something that would provide good wrist support and was easy to clean unlike most of the wrist support mouse pads on the market that have a fabric finish and are difficult to clean.Worked great for about 2.5 months. I did use it daily, and after a few weeks, I noticed there were some bubbles at the bottom of the wrist pad, no big deal. Then about 2.5 months after purchasing it the film that covers the gel wrist pad separated and was oozing out a sticky strong chemical smelling substance. Not worth the money, purchase something else. 1
