Customer Reviews

Very Portable As other reviewers have stated, this book holder is very lightweight. In my case, this is a good thing, since I stay on campus between classes to get a head start on my homework. It has holes for insertion in a variety of binders, folds almost completely flat, and weighs next to nothing.Granted, it feels to be on the fragile side, but I guess that's a trade off for the portability.I also like the width of the book holder. Most of my textbooks this semester are large but soft-cover. Other portable book holders are narrower and don't provide any support for over sized soft covers.Overall, this thing doesn't give me a lot of confidence concerning sturdiness and longevity, but it's perfect for my immediate needs. 4Super Cheap Plastic But Gets The Job Done This book holder works pretty good but I only gave it 3 stars because it is made of cheap bendy plastic and is expensive considering the quality. I was expecting thicker, sturdier parts. That being said it is able to hold a 2" 3 ring binder with a very heavy loose-leaf textbook in. Overall I'm happy. 3Adequate, but not especially good Adequate, but not especially good. Limited page capacity, entirely plastic. Pages are held by two plastic "fingers" which rotate up from the rest for the bottom of the book. I read primarily non-fiction - the longer the book the better. Many of the books I read do not fit in this copy-holder, and I tend not to use it as the page holders seem fragile. On the positive side, the copy-holder folds flat and is quite lightweight. It's good for travel and books of up to 300 pages. If this is what you need, it's not a bad deal in terms of price and functionality. 3Except for the fact it's ugly... It's a great stand. So one star for aesthetics. I just leave it up on the corner of my desk to prop up things like my iPad and then take it to school on occasion for when I'm researching. I also use it to prop up my macbook air for video conferences when I want to get the camera a little higher (since you can adjust angle you can get the camera to a somewhat decent angle). I do like how it holds books open when I'm trying to type notes - the little prongs have stayed stiff enough over time to continue to work, it's light, easy to slip in a backpack. The holes I assume are to include in a binder - does anyone use binders anymore? ;-P I have obviously not tested it out that way, but assume it would work for that purpose. So sturdy, practical...just wish it came in black, for instance. Platinum really is more like 1984 Apple Computer putty. Not that yellow, but that sort of unhappy beige that I left behind in corporate cubicles. 4Not a heavy plastic but good for the price. I bought this for work since I use a very large binder which holds the companies catalog of products. So far I haven t had any issues with it.I can tell you the the plastic is much lighter than what I thought it would be. My binder is very heavy and I can start to see it bend in some areas when flipping pages. Wouldn t recommend for heavy or large binders.Only other complaint is that the tallest angle seems to be around 60 degrees (estimated). I wish I could get it a little taller.Overal it works great and easy to fold up. Great for the price. 4Know someone who reads and eats lunch? Get this. I've given this thing twice as a gift. Once to my wife and one to my mother-in-law. Both of them think that it's the best thing since having to hold their book in their hands and eat tunafish sandwiches. If your wife (or husband or mother or aunt) eats lunch, they might want one of these. If they eat lunch and read books, then they will most assuredly want one. If they eat lunch and juggle, sorry - can't help you there.Really, truly - Get this for your lunchtime reader and they will be so amazed at your thoughtfulness. Do it. Now. 5Book holder I had a Fellows book holder for so many years and I always wanted another. It never occured to me to look at the back and see if I could order another one until a few days ago. Now I have one for my Kitchen books and one for my Bible. It has enough room on the ledge to put relevant material with it. I will have to order another as the older one is no longer holding back the pages. You hate to depart with something that may be still workable with one page holder still in use...but alas not so. Sooo another one on the way. 5Useful for studying I use this for textbooks. It holds heavy textbooks well. Makes my job of note taking and editing easier. Very slim compact foldable design. The page holders are slimmer than others obscuring less parts of pages. I find that helpful. Not very bulky or cumbersome. Holds books at a good angle for reading. I looked at many holders and at the time this one seemed best. I'm glad I got it and have no regrets. 5Good Strong frame, well made, can hold large hardback textbooks well, and it is light. The feet beam holding up book weight may need some rubberized cushion to protect table surface paint, the edge is kind of sharp. 5NOT for Heavy Textbooks Bought this for textbooks, ended up giving it way. This will not hold heavy books. It seemed perfect (good price, fold out page holders, ability to fold it up and clip it in a binder, very light weight, super portable for school, etc.) but it was just not strong enough for my needs. It might be good to hold manuals, novels, or a document you're typing, but I went and bought the "Readaeer BamBoo Reading Rest Cook Book Document Stand Holder Bookrest" and was much more satisfied. 3
