Customer Reviews

Excellent, great price for an Everpure H-300 water filter Excellent, great price for an Everpure H-300 water filter.I needed a replacement filter; it was so easy to order it on Amazon and have it shipped to my house.I tried using generic filters to save money and it just wasn't the same. Love the Everpure brand. 5Recent disappointments with H300 I have used these since the late 80's. Usually w/o issues. HOWEVER, the last two have been totally unsatisfactory. Started 2 months ago when I replaced the 'almost' year old. The new one had very very low flow initially. I suffered with that for about a month, replaced it and the same thing happened. Also, the black ring was extremely difficult to remove and replace. Everpure's solution was to replace the 'obsolete' fitting for a new one - another $60. So, I'm reluctant, after spending about $150 recently, to invest in another H300. I will either bypass or replace with another brand. Everpure suggested our water must be filled with something.... That doesn't compute as the last two H300's were just dribblers from the start.Anyone have suggestions for an alternative filter? 1Water is dirtier with the new filter Bizarre. I own a TDS meter which measures the total dissolved solids in the water. I have conducted 5 tests since installing the filter. My standard tap water is approx 165 TDS and the water from the filter is 210+. How is it that filtered water has more TDS than standard tap water??? I will continue doing tests over a period of time to see if it changes. Keep you posted. 1Cartridge leaked from the bottom, flooded kitchen floor! We traveled and turned off all water supply to our home while gone. While we were gone, this cartridge leaked from the bottom emptying the water that was within the cartridge damaging the interior cabinet and cabinet baseboards. When we returned home and turned the water back on, the base of this filter was wide open, which allowed water to flow freely without any protection all over our kitchen. I would not recommend nor purchase this filter again! The damage from it could be catastrophic! 1but the water tastes so much better that when I drink from the tap I almost ... Pricey...but the water tastes so much better that when I drink from the tap I almost feel sick to my stomach from the chlorine taste and after taste from tap water vs the everpure system I have. Wish I could have the whole house on it. I'm sure it would be better on the pipes too. 5Convenient and effective filter I've been using the EverPure H-300 filter for three years now, and I am on my fourth filter. I have it mounted under my kitchen sink, where it dispenses from its own faucet. It's a large filter, so I had to make sure the cabinet under the sink was set up properly to accommodate it. Once the system was all set up, it was great. The filter itself is easy to change. I just twist the old one off and twist the new one on. It takes me about five minutes, and that's only because I have to get awkwardly inside my under-sink cabinet. To give you an idea of how long the filter lasts, my family of five uses the filtered water for drinking and cooking, but not for things like washing dishes. Given that amount of usage, each filter has lasted 10-11 months. It comes with a timer to indicate when the filter should be replaced, but I've been ignoring that. I wait until the water pressure starts to get lower, and then I replace it.As far as what it filters out, this is a good choice compared to Brita or other pitcher type filters. As others have mentioned, it does reduce the amount of lead in the water. If you really want to get everything out of your water, you need to get something like a reverse osmosis system. That can be expensive and has its own downsides, so I haven't gone that route. 5Why are these getting worse every time I loved this system when I first got it in 2007, and for many years after that. However, this cartridge and the 3 before it have been awful. They are not lasting even 5 months, when they used to last 11 months, and this one has been the worst. It has been in for less than a month and it is already slow, and this week has started to spew carbon particles. The water will be coming out fine, your glass half full, then all of a sudden the water is black. Very disappointed in quality and I have no recourse on the one I just purchased. I do not suggest buying this at all. 1Casing sprung leak-poor customer service I ve been buying this for years and this is the second time I have run into a QC issue with these. First one was filter material leaking into water. This time the shell sprung a pinhole leak. Unfortunately we do not catch it right away and the water damaged our wood cabinet.Contacted Everpure but they offered no apology or refund and only referred me to Amazon (which does not offer refund after 3 months).I ve been using these for nearly twenty years but after this experience will start shopping for alternative system. 1Get's worst every year Everpure has become the typical marketing company. For the H-300 filter system these filters are available on Amazon:EV9270-70, EV9270-71, EV9270-72, EV9270-76, EV9611-16, EV927441, EV927075. There's probably more but I got tired after looking at 3 H-300 filters. How long do the filters last? When I started buying Everpure about 20 years ago, 2 years was well documented. Today, no pre-sale disclosure is available. However once you purchase the product you find the filters last only 11 months. What happened to 2 years? There are also a number of different H-300 systems indicating materially different functionality. Yet they all take common filters. As in they accomplish their materially superior filtration with the same filter. This company has gone down the tubes. Its smoke and mirrors, the tools of a Marketing department. 1Have your teflon tape ready! I've been using these for a few years. I've noticed a decline in quality over the last year or so. Previously, I could get a new filter and pop it in no problem. Now, the filters always leak. I've seen other complaints about this. This is easily fixed by teflon tape, however, the instructions don't indicate the need for teflon tape and older versions never required it.The little warning things they give you ... I've never ever had one of them ever trigger. The last one I just got had red liquid in the indicator area (thankfully it wasn't leaking elsewhere).Be aware that if you live in areas that have high sediment, then the lifespan of these suck. We're talking 2-3 months, if you're lucky. The high density ones far better, but not by much. I am getting a pre-filter to remedy that situation. 3
