Customer Reviews

OK for the price. A bit small though... Slightly disappointed because the headphones doesn't have too much room for my ears. It barely just fit and I don't think I have unreasonably big ears. It is somewhat comfortable but wearing this for long periods of time lead to some discomfort. Audio quality is pretty good.Overall:I purchased this hoping that it'll be comfortable for long use with plenty of room for my ears but it doesn't really fulfill that purpose. 2The Best Headphones for ME! I'm a transcriptionist and wear headphones to do my job. I have had high-end headphones and really cheap ones. I needed some noise-cancelling ones, however, and chose to try these Edifiers. For the price-point, they really are spectacular and much better than any high-end or made-for-transcription headphones I have had in the past. I highly recommend these. 5Better than my expensive headset I purchased these to replace my expensive headphones until I could repair them. Found, to my surprise, that they were more comfortable and have better audio quality. I'm partially deaf and spend a lot of time watching videos on my computer. Using these headphones blocks outside noises for me and allows me to listen at a higher volume. My wife loves the silence! 5Not durable...at all! I got this for my daughter and have had them for about a year. They worked great. She likes the comfort, the fact it cancelled out all noises, and the cord was long enough to not feel tied down. However, the plug that goes into devices broke about the 4th time they were used so my husband rewired them. Then last month, the ear piece just fell apart. She doesn t use them often, only on long car rides or road trips. Used maybe 10 times, while sitting in a car only. I guess i will have to look for another brand to see if they will last. Wish I could get my money back or replaced? The reviews are glowing but I feel like I got a bad batch...maybe. 2Good Headphones at this Price Point First of all the headphones are quite comfortable. The ear pads completely surround my ears as opposed to sitting on them and as a result I have been able to wear them for several hours without discomfort. The materials of construction are not Grade A but are in fact very reasonable at this price point. Build quality is good. Noise isolation is decent. With the sound volume at a fairly low level most outside noise dissolves away leaving you immersed in your music. Sound quality is good and fairly rich. These are not top of the line headphones by any stretch but they are very good for the price and if properly taken care of should provide many hours of good satisfying listening experience. 4I have owned several pairs of somewhat high-end phones and these seem to rate with the best of them Just received h840's two days ago and I am very impressed. I have owned several pairs of somewhat high-end phones and these seem to rate with the best of them. Not really impressed with build quality nor the flimsy cord but the sound is incredible. After the burn in l believe I will be even more impressed. Can not over emphasis how good they sound. Great job Update : After two weeks of joy the left side stopped working. Contacted Edifier and after providing some info a new pair were sent to me. This is the kind of customer service that will make shopping from Edifier a pleasure. I am still convinced you cannot find a better sounding headphone for under 100 dollars 4Very Average But Can t Complain for the Price These headphones are very average. You can t really hope for much given the price tag and I sure didn t. I bought these to leave at m desk at work and not risk losing a good set of headphones that cost hundreds of dollars (which I do own a few of those). For music, these headphones are not too shabby. Far from audiophile (marketing buzz word), but they are not that bad. Highs and kids are clear but they get muddled up a bit by bass depending on the genre. No regrets if you want these for music. For podcasts, movies, and other form of entertainment that has people talking, this will not do at all. Because of the bass heavy nature, a lot of things sound different. Voices I ve heard in YouTube videos and podcasts sound deeper or more nasal-y compared to before. This is disappointing but I will not be returning. The headphones can fit fairly large heads so that is a huge bonus. The cups are padded but not deep so my ears do touch/are pressed against the mesh covering the drivers. I do wish the cups were slightly larger for bigger ears and more plush for depth, but you get what you pay for. The build quality is not disappointing. It s not amazing but it also doesn t feel like it will break apart if being kept at one place or another. I would not use these while traveling as they may not survive too many trips in a bag or backpack.I just needed a cheaper pair for short listening periods. These will do. Not great, but not bad. For those looking for something to be their main headphones, I d up your budget to around $100 for a decent pair. Sony makes some that are in that price range but are way better overall. But if you need a throw away pair, these will suffice. 3for this price l doubt there is anything better. they are ok, the build quality is decent although it is nothing to do flips over. they fit pretty weird on the head if you wear glasses, so l would not recommend these for people who where glasses.the sound quality on these is fantastic, they sound very clear and clean. the bass is not over whelming and the highs are on the warmer side so you don't get any hissing and the mid range is on point! the only thing l don't like about the way they sound is that there is no sound stage, they just sound like drivers smashed up against your head, which depending on who you are is a pro and a con.noise isolation is good, they'll block out a light conversation or an air conditioner/fan. they won't block out something like a vacuum cleaner or a blender.they can be fatiguing over long listening periods so l wouldn't use these as studio monitors or anything. these are good headphones for when you're out and about like on a bus or walking down the street or going to school if you plan on getting these for the kids. actually l think these would be perfect for kids, they are reasonably priced and they sound pretty good. they aren't like my other headphones where l freak out over a 1 inch drop on my desk, l wouldn't be afraid to throw these in a bag and carry them around... they have a pretty sturdy build. and since these are harder to drive than say a pair of ear buds, they don't get too loud so you don't have to worry about little jimmy prematurely losing his hearing. 3Excellent Sound! My last pair of headphones were Sony, really good... but these are Great! and they arrived a day a head. The sound quality was a nice surprise (strong and rich), and the comfort on my ears feels amazing (wow), I think they're perfect. Now the not so good news... the jack is small.. works well for a computer but not a stereo receiver, and the cord is ok (too short for my needs, could be longer) But! the good news is.... I went out and bought an 20 foot cord and it comes with 2 different size adapters for like $12 bucks. Now I can sit clear across the room in my Big Azz chair and really enjoy these awesome headphones... 5The best sub-$100 headphones These headphones sound amazing. The construction feels a little cheaper, but corners must be cut somewhere because these sound like much, much more expensive headphones than they are. I couldn't believe how well they fit and the quality of sound coming out of them. I've tried them with the hi-fi quad DAC on my LG Q7+ and on an iPhone SE and they sound amazing through both, although these don't trigger the high impedance option on the LG. The iPhone may drive these a little bit harder with some more gain, which actually sounds better to my ears. The EQ is a bit curved on these, so not true audiophile headphones, but for the majority of people these will be the best headphones you can get for under $100 and may even be preferable to the flat EQ of true audiophile headphones. These are a great purchase and I hope they last a long time. 5
