Customer Reviews

Improved airflow I've wanted one of these to help with an undercounter vent for a while. Turns out that the two parts were too much together, but I split them between two vents and they have really improved the airflow in both areas. They are not quite wide enough for the vents in my 1870s house, but they are adequate and are helping to improve the airflow in those areas. They come with strips that can help them adhere to stone or wood or laminate. I chose not to use this because I like the freedom of easily removing them and vacuuming the floor when needed. Would definitely buy again for vents that could use these. 4If they hadn't have gotten so greedy, I would've bought TWO If the makers of the product hadn't gotten SO greedy in regards to the asking price (including all other sellers for this product), I would have bought more than one. But, thanks to the hot tip from "KN", I decided to make my own as well! It doesn't look too pretty, but I wanted to post a picture of it in all its glory - before I decide to make it 'look nicer'. Originally, I was going to need a vent extender that was about 53 inches, but after starting to create one, I opted to try it out facing 'the other way' - instead using the 'thin' part of the vent - to go out from the foot of the bed instead (where the vent is near). I think I'll also 'coat' this sweet homeade vent extender with aluminum foil tape so it makes it that much more insulated. 1Easy to assemble, work better than expected I really did not expect this to work that well but it's fantastic. It redirects the heat from behind our 3ft deep sofa wonderfully. So well that my cat curls up right in front of the couch where it now directs to. :) I do wish it had a better way to attach to the vent itself. The double sided sticky strips work nicely to keep the two pieces of plastic together but not so much for attaching the plastic to my metal vents. If I had it on a vent under furniture I moved frequently, I would probably attach some magnets myself. 5Works great for me! Works great as intended. It came with a small clip to hold it onto the vent, which works a bit. Fits just fine for my standard sized vents. The plastic seems sturdy. I use this to redirect the vent from under a couch. Without it, the heated air goes into the couch, with it the air is able to warm the room. I have found the addition of two small binder clips on either side of the vent work great to hold the vent deflector in place, rather than relying on the small white clip that came with it. I suppose if I didn't have tiny people in my house shoving toys under the couch on a regular basis the included clip would be enough, but for my use I need a little more staying power. Even with all the toys finding their way next to/inside the deflector the plastic is holding up just fine. 4Save your money - check out what I made for free, instead. From the reviews, I was so suitably annoyed by both the flimsiness and price of this product that I refused to pay their asking price and made my own. Yeah, it's the top of a cardboard box with some other pieces taped on to extend it out, but it's under the couch - so who cares what it looks like - it works perfectly, and it was FREE! 1Good Product But Could Be Better Used it under my sofa which is 42 in deep and the floor vent is behind the back of the sofa. So it is a little short but the heat did come out strong enough to my satisfaction. It seems a little flimsy and I used aluminum tape to secure the both pieces together( top and bottom sides) for a more secure connection. This also eliminated any possible air/heat escaping. Don't waste your time using the supplied "glue strips" because the heat will probably loosen the adhesion to the carpet. I have the same situation with my leather sofa and thinking about getting another if this one works out well. 4Don't buy one - make your own! It's not that this product is completely worthless - it does actually work - but as many others have said here, it is certainly not worth the asking price, given that it is constructed of thirty cents worth of plastic. I actually needed two of these, so I bought the first one with Amazon Points (so I didn't feel like I was getting ripped off as bad), but I won't be buying a second one. Instead I figured out a way to make my own, and I'd encourage anyone else who is considering buying one of these to do the same. I attached photo of the one I made, and here are the instructions: http://snewpy.com/2015/03/extend-a-vent-for-five-bucks/ 2Disappointing product This is a really poor quality product. It is basically thin plastic to be used under furniture to redirect the airflow. Unfortunately, the plastic will no hold to the vent no matter what product that I have tried. We eventually threw it away and wished that I had not wasted my money 1Air Deflector Review Received the product but was a bit disappointed as it was a bit flimsy. I did mange to get I'd extended together under our couch and it does redirect the cooling and heating under the furniture. Be sure of your measurements and understand that this product is not made of very sturdy material. 3Works well This works as expected but it is not a very heavy duty plastic, since it is mostly under the couch its not a problem. The piece that fits over the vent is too small to cover my whole vent but I have left the other type of vent cover that blows out into the room over it and seems to work fine, the only other thing that would be good would be to put magnets on the portion that fits over the vent. My cats like to sit on the floor in front of the couch right where the heat comes out. 4
