Bad information in product description & features: ONLY ONE PANEL ENCLOSED, NOT "TWO", as advertised Products information and features clearly state "Two panels are included" and uses language to that effect: "each of the covers...", Etc.There is only ONE panel enclosed... so my work will not be done on time because my order is not as expected.Doesn't matter who is at fault, the bottom line is people are most likely to read a one-Star review to see what issues might exist... And not ordering the right quantity of a product for a job is a pretty significant issue when the cause is due to the online service's posted information. 1Great product! I love this product! Super eady to install and solved the problem of gaps between the air conditioner and the window. 5EASY Installation, GREAT Protection The Duck Brand Air Conditioner Foam Insulators are great! A couple years back I tried the Frost King Side Panels and the quality did not compare. The directions were not clear and the foam was much thinner. I couldn't even use them. Last year I only used cardboard and you can imagine how that worked out. The quality of Duck Brand is second to none. I installed mine outside within minutes. The foam is thick and sturdy, but cuts down very nicely. It will definitely prove much better protection against weather and insects. I will definitely be repurchasing next summer! 5Get Owens Corning pink hard foam insulation instead. I used these as a replacement for the accordion side extended panels of my A/C and found that this doesn't hold up to rain very well. It's more of a foam insulation. I instead bought a large piece of Owens Corning pink hard foam board and cut out the pieces I needed with a utility knife and I painted it, this works much better in the rain and provides great insulation. You can buy this at HD or Lowes where the insulation is.Costs about $5.00 2Very nice product - you may need a small saw or sheet metal scissors to install The plastic side panels on our Window AC deteriorated over time so we ordered these panels and installed them yesterday. We have a small window AC. To install these panels, you will need to remove the old plastic sides. Our AC had 4 screws in each side panel and they were easily removed. Once the sides are off, you cut the hard plastic channels that will be affixed to the AC. They are designed to hold the foam panels and must be cut to the height of the AC. They are made of a very hard plastic. The instructions tell you that you can cut them with scissors but this is nearly impossible. We tried a short set of scissors and then a long set - neither worked. We wound up using sheet metal scissors and they worked perfectly. We were surprised that the peel-the-back adhesive stuck so nicely. The foam panels are each 9" in width and they fit perfectly in our window. You do not cut the width of the foam panels, you only cut the height. They are 9" wide so it might be best to measure before you purchase.Overall, the foam panels look nice and it was a very inexpensive way to make the AC look great. 5These are great. I was skeptical about cutting them to size ... These are great. I was skeptical about cutting them to size but even cutting the plastic was super easy. They look great and make it so I don't have cardboard on the sides of my AC unit. ha. Nice replacement if you've lost or broken your side panels. 5I love these insulating panels because they are firm enough to ... I love these insulating panels because they are firm enough to stay if I cut them the right size and stick them on all sides of my AC. I have a recessed window so I can stuff the space between the wall and the AC with this insulation without using adhesive-just the friction alone keeps them in place. 5These might do the trick, but you may not be pleased with them after trying to install. For starters, these come in one color. Black. And because windows with A/C units are kept unobstructed for obvious reasons, well, you can't hide the ugliness of the panels. I knew that going in, from the image of the product. But it's something you need to be cognizant of at purchase. Yes, more attractive than towels or rolled up T-shirts. But it still looks rather... cheap. In most cases you get what you pay for. Except, at $9, these are an extremely poor value. For starters, each bag contains two foam insets, which are not tall enough even for standard size A/C units. So you must cut and size one twice and double up each side. Not too difficult. There are also two plastic guides, which are which were too tall for the standard A/C units I had and needed to be cut down so they didn't stick up 4" higher than the unit. Not a big issue. The fact there's only two inserts meant both had to be used for each side of the window. Thus, without multiple packs of the product, you're going to be short.Installation was made difficult because the adhesive was not sticky enough to adhere to the window frame and the A/C unit. The sliders kept falling off when wedging the inserts in. This was frustrating. It took about 15 minutes for each window. Since I bought two packs, I had to use the spare 4" ends to make 2x sliders for the window sides that were otherwise not able to be fit with sliders. Given the lack of adhesive on the sliders, I'm very pessimistic they will stand up for the season, relying on the force of the foam only. It's also dismaying that the cost per unit for the product was $10. These are single use. Therefor, in order to make them worthwhile from an energy savings perspective, you must save $10 per season, per window. There are too many variables to accurately estimate the savings. But $10 per window, per season seems wasteful.$10 per window for incomplete, unattractive, and flimsy at best window inserts is a steep price to pay. If there's a longer lasting product for more, go for it. If there's a less expensive option, try it. But for now, at $10 per window, the market is ready for something better, 2Good insulation for window AC My bedroom air conditioner is missing a side panel, which broke off leaving a big gap. I purchased this insulation hoping I could avoid buying a new AC. I am pleased with the results. The foam was easy to cut with household scissors. I did not measure it precisely, just cut it to approximate size and squished it into place. I cut one piece to replace to missing side panel, and a long thin strip to run along the bottom. The foam fits securely and seems to work well, my room is cooling without issues. I did give it 4 stars but only because of the price. I feel I could ve purchased a similar product not specifically marketed towards air conditioners for cheaper, but it was very convenient. 4Must have product for window air conditioners! Fantastic product to winterize in the window air conditioners so we don't have to take them out of our apartment windows. I can't wait to see how they help keep the cold air in this summer too. There really was a noticeable difference in the drafts and warmth staying in the room after installing these. I no longer feel a breeze or cold air coming in, now that I have these and an insulated bag installed over our units. 5
