Variable speed... lots of attachments Been wanting a new Dremel to replace the one which was taken over/given to the teenager a while ago. This set is wonderful with all the attachments/accessories which come with it. The case, itself, has room to put some of the other attachments into which we bought for it separately. Husband loves the variable speed on it which we did not have on the other one. Definite upgrade! I cannot wait to do some fine engraving with extra accessories we found in addition to what comes in the kit. 5I would definitely recommend this product My boyfriend loves his dremel! It was affordable and does the job. 5 stars! His first project, he made me a ring (: I would definitely recommend this product! 5DOESN T WORK -NEVER USED IT I just opened this and it doesn t even work. I don t even have the option to return the product. Very disappointed. I thought this would be a great product since it had so many great reviews. I was wrong. Now I m stuck with a brand new, non working Dremel. Waste of money. 1End piece adapter broke on first use. Now I ... End piece adapter broke on first use. Now I can't change out adapters. Had to use pliers to remove the bit that was stuck. This was not due to improper handling, I've used lots of Dremels. 3Dremel 3000 makes it easy As an amateur carpenter most of my adult life, I have begun doing a lot more work in wood toys for grandchildren since being semi-retired. I bought the Dremel 3000 in January and have since bought the Dremel Plunge Router Attachment and extra sanding drums. My band saw, drill press, scroll saw, etc. are all essential, but this tool has added a dimension sorely needed. I recently used it to cut a 3/8" wide, 1/4 inch deep dado in cherry. I do not like my full size router because it is so big and unruly. The Dremel 3000 is very easy to control. I use it regularly to sand (and grind) between the gross cut and the hand sanding. Formerly I used various files for the intermediate work. The Dremel makes it easy. 5I greatly enjoy the ten settings I do not know how I have lived without a Dremel before now! As a college student, cosplayer, and someone living in a small space, large power tools are just not a option. For the small jobs that I have, this dremel gets the job done. I greatly enjoy the ten settings, although I do wish that the cord was a little longer but if that's my only complaint then I am golden! 5Basically broken within 15 minutes of first use. I was excited to get a variable speed rotary tool that was small, powerful, and wouldn't break the bank for woodworking and small steel parts cutting and fabrication. Comes with a great set of included accessories and a lovely box to store it all in. Coming from my tremendously bulky Master Mechanic tool, this was perfect.Had a great first run while doing some basic shaping and detailing in a recent wood project - exactly what I wanted. Came back shortly afterwards to use it again, and it wouldn't power on. Tried again after using my old tool and it worked. Turned it off, and it wouldn't turn back on again.Seems that powering down the tool prevents it from being used again until about an hour has passed. Pointless for something designed to fulfill a lot of diverse tasks with hot-swappable parts. 1I'm a beginner, but it handles well. I am new to the rotary tools, so I am still learning how to use this Dremel. After researching, I ordered the 3000 because it seems easier to handle than the larger models, and I work with smaller items. It does handle pretty well. Those buffers, with the included compound, work wonders on bullet shells! There is not much else I have done, so I'll have to come back later for an update. I am a woman with average-sized hands. 5Disappointment. Quit working. I bought this tool in May 2018 used it once and it worked excellent. Then the next time I went to use it It wouldn't even turn on. I can confirm that it was plugged into a functioning outlet. The tool was kept in its case, indoors. No reasonably reason why it shouldn't work. Beyond that I did some research only to find out this is not an uncommon issue. And to make it worse, while Dremel does have a two year warranty it requires you pay for packaging and shipping to send it to the service center. So it is just more out of pocket expense and time spent on a tool that should not have gone bad in the first place. I am disappointed in Dremel's quality of product and warranty implementation. 1Didn't Work Purchased as a gift for my wife. When she went ot use it for the first time, she plugged it up and nothing happened. I checked everything on it, and even tested on other outlets in the house. Nope. Nothing. It doesn't work. By the time the event came around, that the gift was purchased for, it was passed the "return window". 1
