Started Great... Didn't Last When I first installed this, I loved it. Pressure was outstanding, the LED colors were a nice indicator of temp without having to put my hand in the shower.After 4 weeks, it started to develop a high pitched hum... and the lights would randomly not work, or would flicker (and I'm not talking about the red blink when the temp is too high, would flicker on all colors).After 8 weeks, the lights almost never work. No big deal, but they quit.After 12 weeks, water pressure has started to diminish. I've got plenty of water pressure through the hose, if I take off the shower head, but it's no longer flowing through the shower head as it used to. I'm on city water, not well, and I did install (and check) the screen filter between the hose and the shower head.So, after 4 months, I'm here going to purchase a different shower to replace this one. It's too bad, I really liked it for the first two months. But it didn't last. 23YO loves the lights! Mostly plastic.. but so are 99% of handheld showers at any price point, so I wouldn't get too hung up on that spec.For plastic, it seems reasonably well assembled. After a few weeks of use, it seems to be holding up fine even though the wall clip we bought to hold it up keeps falling off, sending the shower head crashing down to the tub below. It's survived 5 or 6 falls and hasn't cracked yet. So, yay.The light is blue for cool temps, green for medium temps, and red for hot temps. No way to adjust the light except to adjust the water temperature. Upside: you can easily see if the water is too hot or cold by eye, which is a welcome - if minor - convenience while busy monitoring your fussy kid. On the other hand, if your kiddo has a color preference (ours likes red, for example) then you have a bit of a problem when their color preference and your/their temperature preference don't align. WPP I suppose.There is an internal dynamo that spins from water pressure to generate a current for the internal lights. This does create a little whirr which is noticeable but not horrible. Our little one is so caught up with the light color that the noise hasn't been an issue, so I wouldn't call it a flaw.Two quibbles: the 6' hose doesn't allow us to reach a dog being washed at tub-height: an 8' hose would have been better for us. Not a product flaw, just a post-purchase realization and inconvenience. Second quibble is that the 'pause' feature is not easy to activate. There is a dial along the outside perimeter of the shower head that rotates to select the spray pattern. I never know which way to spin it to find the pause mode, and when I find it, it still leaks a lot of water, so not really 'paused.' And, then, I have to fumble through to find the spray pattern I had been using before. This is another inconvenience that is mostly limited to dog-washing but all in all a one-touch, trigger-style pause mechanism would be preferred for us. 4Takes the guess work out of the water temp I bought two of these since I have two bathrooms. I love it so far. What I like is I don't have to keep sticking my hand in the water to see if it is the correct temperature. When the water is cold - it's blue, warm - it's green, hot - it's red, too hot - blinking red. Now, I just turn on the water and watch for the green and then test with my hand and it is perfect to jump in shower.The light only goes down about 4 inches into water stream, but it quite bright on the shower head. Has a variety of water streams and so far I am very pleased with it.Easy to install too!UPDATE:Ended up buying another one of these for Christmas for my granddaughter's bathroom shower! They really, really love it! Big hit! 51.5 years and Still working Great - Ordering One More :) Orded this on August 23rd, 2016 and I wanted to wait to see how the show head and lights held up before writing a review. After about 1-1/2 years I can honestly give this a 5 star review. I seldom give five star reviews, but this shower head exceeded out expectations. Just as adverstised it worked flawlessly. The color indicator proved very useful because it takes some time for our hot water to travel to our master shower.Blue = Cold, when first turning on our shower.Green = Warm (how my wife and son like it.Red = Hot (how I like it)Blinking Red = Too hot it could burn your skinI didn't notice any "noise" caused by the water going through the device. Perhaps there is some, but I can't hear it over the sound of the shower.My now 9 year old freally liked the colors fun and it made taking a shower more fun. 5Reasonable product, great support This gets five stars for the following reasons:1. It doesn't leak out of the head like my last one2. Customer supportFor #1 I was hugely relieved because my last color-changing shower head from another manufacturer leaked from the head immediately after installation. I lived with it for a year or so for reasons I can't begin to explain.For #2, I got the usual "hey, thanks for buying our products!" type of canned email that seems so common now. It's like if they nag me with follow-up emails I'll give them a 5-star review. Normally that means I just don't review the product at all, however in this case I noticed the pressure from the shower head was a bit weaker than I'd like, so I figured why not? I emailed them back and was promptly directed to remove a piece out of the handle to increase the pressure. I had looked previously and the piece the customer service person was talking about didn't look like one I could remove without breaking the unit, but since the customer rep had said it was ok, I felt a bit more confident in yanking that thing out. Viola! More water pressure. I asked if there were any more tricks to increase the pressure, but there were none. I was told if the product was still unsatisfactory there were a few options (which were enumerated in the email) that I could pursue. I opted out, because I was satisfied with the product at that point. 5Dancing In The Shower (but not having fun) I installed only the shower head, because I did not need the hose or spigot attachment. I have a temperature gauge on my shower, so I always know the water temperature, which was set at 102 degrees when I used my new shower head the first time.The water flow during my first (and only) shower appeared to be adequate, although there was hardly any power in the lightest flow setting, and the massage setting didn t provide much pulsing force. The LED feature worked just fine, much brighter than my previous shower head.As a result, I was pleased with my new model....for about 30 seconds. That s when I felt a scalding sensation on my back. While the gauge still read 102 degrees, the actual temperature had to be at least 20 degrees higher. I jumped out of the stream of water, then got back under it when it returned to normal. About a minute later, it happened again.I thought the problem might have been someone in the same line of apartments as mine using their plumbing and creating the abnormality, but a radical change in temperature such as I was experiencing happens only two or three times a year in my building. When it occurred twice more during my 10-minute shower, I knew that the unit was defective, limiting the mix of cold water with the hot to create the problem. I had barely dried off when I finished repacking the unit for a return to the manufacturer.I cannot be certain the same problem will manifest itself for other buyers. I do know that, for me, it is a dangerous product and I will find an alternative shower head. 2Very LOW QUALITY Product Don't waste your money on this shower head.After just four uses, the shower head started to leak through a seem. Check out the video.I know someone else who purchased a similar product which started leaking after a few months. Mine started leaking after four uses probably because I used the water flow shutoff feature of the shower head to turnoff the water during my shower. On the fourth time using this feature, the head sprung a leak and shot water all over the place.Save your money, buy a completely different shower head design! 1Love the Temperature indicating LED Shower-Head I purchased this shower-head in February of this year (2017) online after seeing a similar one in BB&B. I didn't get it to provide lighting in the shower, but because the colored LED lights made it easier to transition my son from taking baths to taking showers. After having it for almost 2 months, I've actually grown to enjoy it very much myself, because the lights indicate water temperature (maybe this is obvious to everyone who bought this, but I purchased this LED shower-head because it was stainless steel, and most of the other LED shower heads found on my search were either plastic, had only the hand-held piece without the hose, or a combination of the two).I've had way too many experiences of getting in the shower when the water was either freezing cold or scalding hot. Now, after turning the shower on, I wait until the lights turn green, and I know it's a comfortable temperature range. Attached pictures 1-3: cold, warm and hot temperatures indicated; 4 & 5: my previous $80 Moen shower head, that's virtually identical.Technical Details:Included in package:(1) shower-head;(1) 60 in metal hose;(1) adjustable overhead bracket for holding shower-head;(1) mesh strainer (to keep stuff from clogging the head); appropriate number of washers needed (I believe 4, but not positive there were the number needed though);(1) small spool of silicone pipe thread tape and(1) set of instructions that were easy to follow.Head Diameter: 4 in.Hose length: 60 in., or 5 ft.Water Settings: 5 total; 4 separate water spray patterns and 1 pause or off setting (although the water drips a little bit)Fitting Size: 1/2 in NPT, or standard-size shower fitting, no adapters neededMaterial: stainless-steel, shinyFlow Rate: 2.5 Gallons/Minute or 9.5 Liters/minutePro's: Very easy install; all I needed was my channel set pliers; Standard size- I had a Moen (in another bathroom now) that was very similar. All I did was disconnect the Moen shower head from the hose and put on the new head to the existing hose. The old shower head works perfectly fine in the other bathroom (no leaks). Has the 2 water spray settings I use (massage and spray- not sure what the proper names are). LEDs are bright (they are not spotlights or flashlight strength, more like the type you find in outdoor solar lights) and reasonably indicate water temperature (I haven't had a problem yet with it).Con's: The spray selector doesn't smoothly and noticeably click into place like the Moen (but the Moen did cost more that twice as much as this shower head though), but does click and stay in place. Makes a whirring sound when on (there's a small magnet in the head that spins as water goes through it- this is what causes the lights to light up), but the sound of the shower is generally louder.Overall, this was a sound purchase. I'm happy enough with the temperature function, that the other minor details are insignificant to me. While I didn't purchase any of the other shower heads listed, I did read enough complaints about the plastic components breaking and lack of included hose with others listed at a much lower price, that I feel $35 was a very fair price.Lastly, it is rated at 2.5 GPM which does exceed the regulation in CA (which is 2 GPM, but this was sold and shipped to me anyway). My Moen is 2.5 GPM also (which I purchased in NY, and I've noticed only a slight difference in water pressure, and I think it's because the 'spinning magnet' reduces the speed somewhat. I know that my water bill hasn't changed any, so FYI for those who this matters to.Good purchase, it performs its intended purpose very well (where surprisingly, many other products can't perform their primary function well). 5The color changing temperature light works great. However, there is this annoying slight buzzing/squealing sound when the water is on. I don't know why it's doing it, but it drives me insane.UPDATE: 1/24/19 - We've had this shower head for two years now. For the price, I guess it did its job. I would say about a year in, the temperature light stopped working and stayed always on blue. Not really a big deal because the shower head still DID work by spraying water. But we did buy this product partly due to the neat feature of the color changing lights.The most annoying thing however is that a couple of months ago the shower head started randomly making this loud whirring sound for a few minutes at a time. Like imagine a tea kettle whistle. IT'S SO LOUD. It scares the crap out of you when it happens and you just keep showering and praying for it to stop, and it does eventually. I'm going to buy a new shower head because at this point, this product has nothing going for it. Again, $30 for two years of an okay shower head was fine, but I wouldn't buy this again. 1A light show in your bathroom! My night time showers are a lot more interesting. It has inspired me to turn on some music, turn off the overhead lights and enjoy the pretty changing colors of my shower head. 4 settings that are each distinctive: reg,rain,spot concentration and hard. I also like how the actual mount has an additional adjustment I can angle it however I need with ease. Well made and installing it took less than 10 minutes and came with plumbers tape and 2 rubber washers-nice!This was a fun purchase although I was not looking for anything fancy this made late night showing more enjoyable--more swaying to music and singing is a good thing. 5
