Customer Reviews

Best 2 in 1 system The best brand for auto alarms and remote starts in one - and only one my family purchases for all our vehicles. You can see and hear when the car turns on and off and alarm works well, too. The spare remote has come in handy, too. 5Great inexpensive way to add keyless entry to a cheap car without it.Bought one of those disposable Kia Hamster cars to rack up miles for the business and then throw away and while it came with power windows and locks, it did not have keyless entry. I picked this up to be able to pop the back hatch/trunk. Works great and now we have keyless entry. Took about 1.5 hours to install in the hamster and a little googling found us the right wiring diagram on kia forums to wire everything super easy.5Worst amazon purchase I ever madeWorst amazon purchase I ever made. I had this professionally installed on my 2010 Chevy cobalt and now less than 2 weeks later I'm having to buy a new product as well as pay installation fees again because the car wont lock, un lock or open the trunk unless I'm standing right by the driver door. Dont order it's a waste of money1Works great! Works as advertised. Download the installation manual and follow it meticulously. My install involved 2 Starter wires, so be aware of that. Also, you aren't splicing into these starter wires, like the other connections, but cutting the starter wires and installing the remote starters wires in between the key side and the starter side of the cut starter wires. Google for install websites and they'll give the wire color and location for your specific vehicle.http://www.readyremote.com/ and http://www.the12volt.com were two websites that I found helpful. 5This damn thing worksIf you're in the market for a no frills, basic car alarm at a decent price then that's what you're going to get here. I bought this device to replace a dealer installed alarm on my mom's car and was able to install it myself. I had never installed an alarm before in my life but I had purposely purchased this alarm since it basically had the same functions as the existing one and simply replaced it piece by piece and ultimately, it worked. The keyless entry devices have a strong signal and I can arm/disarm from a good distance away and I have never had a problem with it.4Replace the batteries with high quality lithium to increase longevity of remote rangeWorks great after over a year in every way but one...the original batteries that the remotes came with lost a significant amount of capability in the first month, turning that incredible range into as little as 5 feet in some cases...after 6 months, at best, the remotes would only work up to about 40 feet away...the instructions were good but I wouldn't encourage anyone to install an alarm unless they have some experience with car electrical systems...the alarm hooks into many different circuits to achieve all of its functionality...4remote start shock sensors all you need plus more I bought this due to the remote start, it is nice to have my car pre warmed or pre cooled before driving off into the world, the car had no security system before and due to the crime rate rising I needed something! The remote start works from inside my house some 45 yards away, works every time! Even when leaving stores, some 500 yards away, works every time! 5It doesn't include sirenI bought this product on July (2018) and then, installed another one which was given as a present. So I left the package as is and now (on January 2019), when I needed in this product, I've found that there is no siren in the package. Better to give as a gift than using when you know that there is missing elements (being fooled).1BUYERS BEWARE!! Brain never worked, replacement is worseInstalled this on my Honda CRV in 3.5 hours but spent another 8 hours trying to figure out why my lock/unlock and door trigger features weren't working. I left it plugged in and a couple days later, the lock/unlock features of the remote start working for a few hours. Then it stops again for awhile. Appears to work intermittently. Also, the door trigger feature didn't work and would also intermittently work which makes this alarm useless since it wouldn't even sound if someone opened my door to get in and search through my car.I wanted to be sure that the problem was with the alarm brain so I took my multimeter and checked for continuity and/or voltage since majority of my system is ground switched. I made sure that a solid ground connection to my vehicle's lock/unlock wires at the point I used for the alarm was working fine which it was. Lock/unlock worked perfectly fine by tapping a ground connection to either one. I tested the output on the alarm brain when lock/unlock buttons were pressed and it would output about 11v for a split second. I checked constant power going into the alarm and it's a solid connection at full voltage. Same was done with the ground connection, There's a solid connection for ground at the point in which it connects to the alarm. Parking lights, the horn, led, and starter kill seem to be working fine. However, the alarm is useless if door trigger input doesn't work and it'll be annoying to not have the lock/unlock features work.Amazon sent a replacement and it showed up today. I figured that all I needed to do was swap the alarm brain and everything would be working fine. However, this one was even worse. The door trigger didn't work one bit. Either Avital or DEI has a ton of defective brains or I'm just really unlucky. Looks like I'll be going with another brand such as viper since they might have better quality control.1It works atleastThis worked well in my car until about 2 weeks ago. It was running perfectly then one day it just stopped working out of the blue! had a mechanic look at it and they only said the receiver seemed not to work! it worked for a good amount of time on my end4Works great and seems durableThe unit works great. It replaced my failing factory security system in a Mitsubishi Challenger. The remote is small and light (if a little cheap-feeling), and the module is simple to wire (almost everything is built-in).5It did what I needed, plain and simple.I bought this alarm because I had a very specific need, I needed the car to auto-lock the doors when ignition was ON, and when ignition was OFF to auto-unlock. This is a very normal safety feature of modern cars, that I would not expect a Toyota Yaris 2017 with power locks to lack! And sadly this being my daughter's car I had to learn the hard way how important it is. One day my daughter forgot to lock the doors and in a traffic light a stranger hoped in and scared the sht out of her, she was not assaulted but was so scared that she had to take this crazy person to wherever she wanted. Anyways I needed this feature and this alarm provided it by default configuration. I had to do a lot of research on where the wires were located and needed for accomplishing this, but I came up good and now the alarm took over that action of auto lock - unlock for just 30's something dollars. So thank you Avital!5Very happy customer, had a friend install as the instructions ...Very happy customer, had a friend install as the instructions were a bit confusing to me. I did not have several hours to figure this out although I'm pretty sure I could have installed myself. My friend took about 45 min and had everything working great! I love how my doors lock and unlock when I start the car and shut off. The horn chirp is perfect, not too loud and annoying. Keyless buttons work great. Little hard to activate but I assume it's designed to be that way so you don't accidentally hit the button, takes the tip of your finger to press correctly.5
