Customer Reviews

My CD player is back I commute about an hour each way every day to work. Needless to say, playing my music is very important to me. My CD player in the car started skipping more often as time went on. I used to think that it was the disks and would clean them to no avail. Finally, the CD player stopped working altogether. If you inserted a disk it would roll it around for a while and then spit it back out. This happened for every disk I tried. I thought that the problem was the CD player itself. Then my CD player at home started displaying the same symptoms were disks no matter how clean they looked would skip. This got me suspicious thinking that maybe dust had accumulated inside the CD players. I thought I would insert a cotton swap with alcohol the way you would clean cassette players but there was no way to insert one. I looked on Amazon and discovered that there were a myriad of products that cleaned CD player lenses. After looking at all of the better rated products and reading the reviews I decided on this one. When it arrived I immediately inserted the disk into the CD player in my car. One cleaning cycle did the trick. My CD played in the car worked again. Applying it to the CD player at home corrected that problem as well. I haven't tried it on DVD players because they haven't had a problem yet, but if they do I wouldn't hesitate to use this product.I noticed that a lot of people are dissatisfied with this product because it doesn't work on Blu-ray or Wii. This is true. The back of the package states this clearly. I agree with them that there should be a disclaimer on the Amazon product description stating this. 5it actually worked I bought this before replacing my dvd player just in case. You put it in and run it -- which doesn't take long at all -- in fact much shorter than I thought it should run and I began think it was defective. I thought oh well, it was $10 and worth a shot before replaced the unit. However, we tried it out by putting in a few DVDs that had "frozen" in spots and sure enough -- they worked perfectly. I was skeptical. I was surprised. In the end, I am satisfied. 4It REALLY does do the trick! Over the last year, my CD/DVD drive in my Mac mini was slowly getting more and more finicky. Sometimes it would play DVD disks, but not always. I was used to chalking it up to the DVD, not really considering how much I use the drive. But when it started to get persnickety with CDs, I started reading online to see if there was a chance it could be something other than drive failure. That tends to be expensive. Not only did I find a lot of people describing the same situation, many of those people found they got a quick and good fix with a disk drive cleaner. Two minutes after I had this out of the packaging, I had run the cleaner and had a fully-working drive again! Even my 70-year-old mother could use this, and she'd swear she's clueless when it comes to computers.Give this a try before you haul your computer down to the shop and they tell you that only an expensive new drive is the answer! It will save you both time and money. 5Fantastic Product I was having problems reading discs in some of our DVD players and especially our computer drives. One of the drives was so dirty that it was not even being recognized when a disc was inserted. When I received this Lens Cleaner Disc I tried it on the worst drive that was not working. Wow! It really worked on this drive so that it is now recognized and works great. Just insert the disc and as it turns it is starting the cleaning process. There is audio in several languages that give use instructions. After using it several times I now just go to track 6 and start the cleaning process. This cleaner has done wonders on so many drives that we feel we have more than received our money's worth. We will definitely replace this whenever it wears out. I do not know how long it will last as we have been using it for about three months so far. We have cleaned the drive in the TV that was skipping and now it works like new. All of the DVD players and video game consoles have been cleaned as well. I actually have a stack of old CD/DVD drives that stopped working and when I get a chance to check them out I believe that some of them may just need to be cleaned as they act the same way the drive on my computer did before it was cleaned. This is the only product that I have ever rated 5 stars across the board. The product works as advertised. It will not fix a defective lens but if it is just dusty/dirty then it will clean it. The price is reasonable for the service that it provides. The shipping was very quick and overall a great product. This is definitely a product that I would recommend that everyone should buy. Almost everyone has a computer or CD/DVD player that could stand to be cleaned. This would actually make a nice gift for anyone who does use their computers a lot as either a corrective or maintenance measure. 5This may be an audio malfuncton on a very good Bose system Don't know exactly what to think about this product. I have 3 players, 2 are malfunctioning, one isn't reading right and the other is hesitating/skipping. Cleaned each one twice and neither have improved any. This may not be a product failure, but a machine malfunction, I don't know. I can't expect a "cleaner to fix a broken machine. However,Both machines are 3 years old and I inspected the cleaning brushes before and after with a magnifying glass and I see no dust or residue cleaned. Also purchased a car cleaner and it won't accept the disc. This may be an audio malfuncton on a very good Bose system. Sooooooo, I am 0 for 3, keeping in mind this is only a cleaner, without any advertising claims that it WILL fix all systems. hence my 2 star rating. 2Fixed my Mercedes CD Changer! This product is amazing.. it completely fixed my broken 2003 Mercedes Benz Sl500 6-disc changer! My CD changer would simply not read CD's at all since I bought it (It was a pre-owned vehicle). I gave this product a shot I was very pleasantly surprised.First I loaded the CleanDR CD and like usual the CD changer did not recognize it and the first track (instructions track) did not load. So I took the CleanDR out of the CD magazine and put it back in again. The car tried to load it but still did not initiate playback. I was hoping that while its at least trying to load, the cleaning brushes would be doing their trick. And sure enough, after switching back and forth between the CleanDr and another audio CD, presto!!... the audio CD began playing! Then I switched back to CleanDR and it loaded the instructional track as well. I went to track 6 (the official cleaning track) and let it do its thing.I removed the CleanDR and tried several other audio CD's and now THEY ALL WORK!I highly recommend this product to anyone with a non functioning CD player.... this thing does magic! 5On the back of the package it says that the cd would begin to play at some point like a normal cd Okay !! So my factory cd player in my truck stopped playing tracks. Any tracks. The cds I have would load but wouldnt play. So I took a gamble that maybe the lens just needed cleaning. Looked this up on Amazon. Read the reviews. It came on time. Immediately put it in only for my cd player to spit it back out. On the back of the package it says that the cd would begin to play at some point like a normal cd, so I stuck it back in a second time. Low and behold track one played. The cd's narrator said skip to track 6. This little marvel began to work its magic by spool cleaning my laser lens with these tiny brushes on the bottom of the cd. After about a minute it was done. Took it out and put in one of my cd's, it played with perfection. The narrator suggests using this awesome little buddy every 40 hours of playtime, until the brushes start to show wear. Great deal. Worked like a charm. 4It actually fixed my Xbox 360! I was very skeptical about this product to say the least but I was down to replacing my Xbox 360 or living with the "can't read disc" problem I was having with several games. Basically, I would insert the game disc and it would refuse to read it. After opening and closing the tray several times I might get lucky and finally be able to play the game.I ran CleanDr twice in a row in my Xbox 360 and to my amazement, it fixed the problem! I can insert even the most problematic game discs and the 360 has no issue reading them any longer.I highly recommend this product if your 360 is having issues like mine was.PLEASE NOTE: According to the manufacturer, this product should NOT be used in Bluray players, including PS 3's. 5:( I have updated this rating from 1 to 4 stars. This didn't work the first time and my player started skipping even worse. I figured it couldn't hurt to run it a few more times, either it would fix the CD player or I'd have to junk the player. After 4 full cycles the player stopped skipping. So while it worked it's not a one run and done, at least in my case.Another update- back down to one star. It worked for a bit then the skipping started again. Tried the disc again and now it doesn't play at all. 1Allright, Dr.Clean you magical mastermind...you got me! I have a SHARP Mini-Component 5.1 System w/ a 5 Disc CD Changer. It's about 5 years old, & up until 6 mos. ago, played all of my 2,400+ CD w/out fail. Then, all of a sudden EVERY disc skipped-even if it was brand new! I gave up on it & just played my CDs through my DVD player, since every other component (radio, USB, iPod docking station, & Dolby Digital 5.1 worked fine). Then someone suggested this product. Hey, what did I have to loose except the price of the product, right? I got it, followed the super-simple instructions, & cleaned the CD player. Contrary to what a lot of people believe, a 5 disc changer still only has ONE laser (not 5 seperate, like some people think)Just b/c it has 5 seperate trays, they all go to the same laser! The 1st thing I did was to put in my most scratched CD. In the past it worked fine. Well, now it WORKS FINE AGAIN!!! Then I put 1 in w/ NO dings @ all (this 1 didn't play 2 days ago). It plays like the day I bought it 7/8 mos. ago! Dr. Clean...you Mad Trickster...I don't know what you do, but IT WORKS! Miracle, Science, or both? 5
