Crap! Nice seat, but the first use one of the nylon bolts broke. 1Quiet as a mouse, maybe that s why my cat likes it.... I purchased this toilet seat to replace a bamboo toilet seat I had. This new seat is really nice. especially considering the price point! It s a bargain. The seat is very easy to install. Just follow the instructions on the outside of the box. Only tools needed, one standard screwdriver and one willing person. This seat seems to stay in place, without sliding around on the top of the toilet base. My last one made using the toilet an adventure, especially in the middle of the night. I actually enjoy using this new seat, the contour of the seat is very comfortable. It s also much cleaner than my old wooden one. This one wipes off easily, the wooden one was so porous, it collected mildew and other nasty things that couldn t quite be removed from the cellular structures of the wood. And the slow close lid of this new seat has been a nice upgrade. The previous one, use to require me to lower the lid all the way down to the seat. As to prevent the sound of the lid slamming down onto the seat.And my cat Nikko likes it! Apparently, he needed to inspect it on the day I installed it!I m here to say, it got the paw of aprroval, two of them.So, if you are looking for a new seat to fit your oval toilet, this is a great buy! Just be sure to measure your toilet as instructed on this product s page. To be sure it will fit your toilet.I don t think you ll regret buying this seat. I definitely don t.... 5So hard to clean I can't believe I'm reviewing a toilet seat! And it's a negative review. The seat closes just like it's supposed to, nice and slow, but overall I wish we hadn't bought this seat. It is extremely hard to clean and urine gets in the crevice between the lid and the seat. The only way to clean it well is to take the seat off completely. With young toddler boys in the household, taking off the seat to clean it is very time-consuming. Not only is it hard to clean, but despite being well screwed into the toilet base, the seat still moves side to side. It's cheap and unpleasant. 1Failed in a few months. Slow close mechanism has failed in just a few months of use. 1All around cheap. These won t last long. I don t know why my experience is so different from other reviewers so I would take it into consideration. It s a cheap toilet seat. It feels cheap, it s flimsy, the mounting bolts will break soon I m certain. The hole is considerably smaller than the seat I replaced making it feel like a child s toilet. Plastic Toilet seat, Quite close, Very easy to install, Medium strength plastic. It does have plastic or nylon mounting nuts and bolts. So do not over tighten. It also comes with 2 anti skid gaskets that go between the seat mounts and toilet. Can sit on lid when closed. Seems sturdy enough. I weight 185 lbs. Overall it looks and works great. Very Good product for the price. 5Easy install, slow close works great! *update. We loved this one so much, we ordered one for our other bathroom that has an oval toilet. It's perfect. I sit on the lid to give my daughter a bath in the tub and it does not budge or cave in like our old one. We are very pleased. 5Sits solid and closes silently I finally got sick of my toilet seat sliding around under me. I like excitement, just not while I m in the bathroom. So I took the plunge and spent some money on a good seat.My first surprise came when I got home and found it installed. My wife, who is not handy at all, had no trouble installing it. The slow-close lid has relieved me of one more task; I think this is what it s like to be rich. 5Most Regrettable Amazon Purchase So Far 112618 Update: Google research shows standard toilet seat length to be 16.5" (elongated 18" & 18.5"). Why does Delta shorten the seat to 16.25" and NOT highlight the fact in advertising. At the least, buyers should be alerted that this is a "non-standard" size. I lowered the rating to because the soft-close works very well. The inconvenience of a short, thin (lacking in depth (sitting closer to the bathroom floor than my knees find comfortable)) of this product causes me to find it uncomfortable, messy to clean up after, and disheartening to see everytime I enter the bathroom.My return window is closed so I can only voice my opinion now, so there. This is a glossy, soft-close beauty. I prefer a wider, softer seat and will search carefully for a replacement when the time comes. Measure precisely; mine is .25" too short. I thought the size difference between round & elongated would have been greater. Will have to research @ Wal-Mart to verify.Delta has a great reputation and this appears to be a fine product. Installation was easy; the toughest part was removing the old seat. I'm not sure what the clear plastic tabs are for but the protruding bumps helped me place them correctly before inserting the screws. The flat sides of the wing nuts made proper seating possible and hand-tightening was a breeze. I like Delta and will scope out the Wycliffe & Sanborne models.Thanks, Amazon! 103018 UpdateThe profile of the sest is too low and wreaking havoc on my knees. The lid is nice and thick but the seat is thinner than most standard seats and puts the user closer to the naked bowl. Soft-close is still the bomb, but I will have to find someway to sit higher and not tax my aching knees. Originally assigned due to length from front-to-back being too short and leaving edge of bowl exposed. 2good quality Very high quality, heavily built seat. We have a couple of modern Delta toilets as well, and though the plumber was initially dubious -- "use American Standard or Toto" -- he changed his mind. They are making good products, and what's compelling about them is the extremely plain design. This seat is very easy to install in a bombproof fashion, and was a pleasant surprise in terms of build quality. 5
