    Leaky Delta shower head First thing out of the box what I noticed is that it's almost all plastic...for a $135 shower head...really? I realize that there are a lot of shower heads that are way more than $135 but I'm sorry if I am going to pay $135 for a shower head, it needs to be made out of better materials...shame on you Delta. I was always told how great Delta was, maybe they're coasting on a reputation. The hose for the hand held was outstanding, a real quality hose. It's metal outer and had some stretch to it. It also had a little heft to it and bent really easy.The main reason that I didn't like it and sent it back was because it leaked terribly and did not have good pressure. In the attached picture, I have an arrow pointing to the area the leaked. It was more of a spray than a leak. it was even spraying over the shower curtain. The water was coming out of that joint in about 4 places. I tried to tighten it and it made a minor difference but there was still a lot coming out and I was really cranking on it, was afraid that it might break.I attribute the low pressure to the leak as well. Maybe without the leak, the pressure would have been okay. When it was on the setting that was the large outer ring only, it worked well but I didn't care for that mode only. There was a big empty space in the center without water. The mist mode work also. All of the other modes were weak.Amazon's return process was lightening fast. They emailed me a paid return label, I boxed it back up and sent my daughter to the UPS store. Amazon sent me an email within about five minutes of my daughter dropping it off at the UPS place indicating that they had just refunded my money! 1Pause button can get stuck in pause position This is the second (and probably last time) I will purchase a plastic Delta showerhead like this one (previous one I had was the Delta 58471PK In2ition shower head) For a relatively expensive shower head, it has too many bells and whistles that can cause reliability issues.(1) One of them which has rendered it almost completely useless to use is that the gray pause button has gotten stuck in the pause position. [Note that most of the spray points in this shower head are in the handheld spray with hose, not the outer head attached to your shower outlet.] It feels like the spring in the pause button has gotten stuck in the depressed position and now will not spring out. (This issue also cropped up on the Delta 58471PK that I used previously). I tried prying off the plastic but stopped short because I was afraid of permanently damaging the handheld showerhead.(2) The small spray selector lever on the handheld shower is an improvement over the 58471PK's method which required multiple presses in order to select the spray pattern you wanted (the button of which would eventually fail). However, I can also foresee that this lever may be prone to some type of failure in the future.I'm going to look into a simple but reliable setup from now on. My parents had a simple plastic handheld showerhead that could be placed for overhead use. It has been in use for over 30+ years. It isn't fancy but it gets the job done and has been reliable all these years. 1Worked well until it didn't I bought this specifically because we wanted a handheld option, and I really wanted to be able to pause the water when shaving my legs to avoid wasting water. It worked pretty well for awhile, although it became harder and harder to change the settings over time. After less than 18 months, the small "metal" piece on the bottom that changes the water settings broke off. Turns out it was plastic. The quality was lower than I would have expected/preferred. I reached out to their customer service, so let's see what happens.Update: Delta customer service replaced this immediately upon receiving my complaint. 3Almost perfect I really wanted matte black shower head with a hose and that was NOT easy to find. Everything else was oil rubbed bronze, but that's not the modern look I was going for. Thankfully Amazon has everything.This shower head is so huge it has the feeling of a rain shower, but the convenience of a handheld option.Only complaint is that there's no jet setting with harder, targeted water pressure.Bought with Delta Faucet T14459-BLLHD Trinsic Monitor 14 Series Tub & Shower Trim - Less head, Matte Black 4Took away a star because the materials are plastic where they could have been a better materials, and would have appreciated a little piece ... I think my shower has low water pressure, but this shower head does well. Took away a star because the materials are plastic where they could have been a better materials, and would have appreciated a little piece of teflon tape to be included to make the install complete from the package. 4Design is great, but performance is underwhelming I really like the look of this and the option to have a hand held and overhead at the same time, but there is barely any water pressure when both are in use. It now takes longer to rinse shampoo out of my thick hair. I ended up putting the outer ring on pause , which seems to help increase pressure from center portion, but it s still not optimal.The handheld part releases and attaches smoothly; I ve experienced no issues that others have stated.The brushed chrome finish looks nice at first, but I m noticing that water spots tend to accumulate and not wipe away easily.I will eventually be changing this out; my disappointment is greater than I anticipated. 1Excellent shower head once restrictor is removed I regretted spending money on this shower head before the water restrictor was removed. The water pressure was low like a sprinkle and not worth the asking price. After water restrictor was removed it was a night and day difference. Enormous amount of water flow and pressure. The magnetic handle/shower head combo is very nicely designed and integrated. Overall, extremely satisfied after water restrictor was removed, it actually does have the massage effect. Special thanks for the top reviewer that called out the removal of the restrictor.To some of the other reviewers that complained the paint was pealing off....well, the "chrome" version is usually thin layer of shinny chrome plated on top of plastic. Solid chrome would probably be too heavy for shower head/wand. Maybe the stainless steel version is 100% solid and not plated, but anything plated will eventually chip/peel overtime.Another reviewer mentioned water restrictor in the hand wand - I only had to remove the main one and the water pressure was already extremely strong. The water pressure from the wand matched the pressure from the shower head so I'm not sure what he removed was a water restrictor or something else. Maybe he had a different model, either way I was happy when the main one was removed and didn't want to use a drillbit and risk damaging the wand.Overall installation process for me was almost as simple as screwing on and off a light bulb. Just needed to add plumber tape to the thread, screw it on, tighten it with a clamp and it was done in 5mins. Hope this helps. 5Cheap looking and feeling At this price point it should have a metal connector but it does not. I bought the stainless steel but was not happy to discover it is plastic made to look like stainless steel. It showed water marks super easy and looked and felt cheap all while costing way more than other similar products on the market. 1Very convenient, good water flow when 'fixed' I got this for my master bathroom where my wife and I never agreed on what type of showerhead to get. I prefer the wider ones, while my wife prefers the handheld ones where you can detach it from the wall. This is the best of both worlds... one unit where we are both happy.Installation was quick and easy. The unit is very solid, and impressively built. The button and switches are sturdy with a positive 'snap' to them. The showerhead is held in place by a strong magnet which works very well.As for the water pressure, I've installed countless showerheads over the last couple of decades... I can't remember the last time I saw a showerhead without a restrictor designed to reduce the flow of water. Years ago they use to explain how to remove them in the installation instructions, but not anymore. This showerhead includes one as well and is easy to remove (see attached photo)...1) Remove the swivel adapter (AKA ball fitting) from the back of the wide sprayer by unscrewing it.2) Inside the swivel adapter, you will find a rubber washer with a metal screen filter... remove it by prying it out, but be careful not to damage it.3) Behind the rubber washer/filter is the lavender-colored flow restrictor. Push it out from behind (wider end of the swivel adapter). It may take a good push, but it is only held in place by friction.4) Replace the rubber washer/filter and reinstall the swivel adapter.This procedure is completely reversible. Also be aware that removing the restrictor will increase water usage as well as power usage since your water heater will have to work more.Overall, one of the best showerheads I've ever used, and easily the most convenient. 5Leaky and leaky The connection to plumbing leak, the handheld also leaks from the holes that should be off. Also it's a bit harder to take the handheld showerhead out of the static one. Thought it's in my head cause they look so similar but got the other one (older?) in brick store and it works just fine (like the one I used to have).It's weird because they have model that is virtually identical to this one which works great. The only visible difference is the somewhat wider screw that connects to plumbing (might be slightly older version of the same model?).Current first image on the product page shows the one that works (it's wider and has ridges). However I got delivered the one with narrower connector which leaks... 1Big TIme Flow Restrictor Built-In. Very good shower head though not as great as other media sources say (read: Wirecutter). The three-spray H20kinetic setting is great, especially for rinsing off the soap.However...Despite living in an area with high water pressure this showerhead really restricts the flow of water. To achieve maximum benefit you MUST remove the water flow restrictor. It can be done, however, it's not as easy as the YouTube videos indicate. Plus it probably voids every warranty known to man. Otherwise, as is, with the flow restrictor, I do not recommend this product. 3Great value, good performance with minor modification. This unit installs easily and looks great in the shower. It is only 2.5 gal/s flow, which doesn't give that strong water pressure feel. I ended up finding a video online that shows how to remove the flow regulator (which took two mins) and now it feels great. The pause function is fairly useless, but the removable handle is magnified which is convenient, and the hose is plenty long. Overall I'm very happy with this unit, as long as you're ok with moderate water pressure or the DIY fix I mentioned. 4This is the item that made me stop trusting Wirecutter reviews This shower head is perfect if you enjoy massive rings of gentle pins of warm water surrounding equal-sized cold spots on your body, or a hand-held shower head that puts out non-threatening amounts of water. This is the shower head I would want installed if I ran a daycare or an adult-care facility. We used this shower head in a recently renovated bathroom, and the $20 Waterpik in the original bathroom blows this away in every sense. Too late to return, lesson learned. 2
