These are MADE IN CHINA For some reason, I had assumed these were made in USA, but upon receiving they are now made IN CHINA. I'm try not to purchase things I have food and water go through from China. (And seafood) Oh well, next time I'll look harder I guess. 3Works well enough I have these filters delivered using subscribe and save. Makes them always on hand and I don't have to make an emergency trip to the store when I notice the filter is overdue for a change. My house has very hard and rusty water. This filter lasts about 6 weeks before it is completely saturated with rust and doesn't actually filter any longer. I change them on a monthly schedule and can't beat the price an convenience. There is a noticeable difference having the filter in place in terms of the taste, smell, and stain of rust in my water supply. Works great as a whole house filter, but I still filter my drinking water at the tap. 4Cheap way to prevent problems These are used to filter water that goes to our horse water system and replaced the integral filter in same. Our horse water devices are reliable, but can malfunction with the smallest debris in the shut-off valve and overflowing the bowl. Have not had any such issues since installing this filter system to the supply. I also use these to filter the water supply that feeds our domestic hot water heater. It seems to have considerably reduced the amount of sand and other debris that used to accumulate in the hot water tank from our well. I change both of these filters at the same time at an interval of every three months. 5It worked Well these 10 micron filters worked a bit before we got our well system replaced. Now I use 5 micron as a last line of defense before the house. 5Culligan sediment replacement filter After replacing a well pump the water was dirty and muddy .This was a replacement cartridge . This is a primary filter for sediment ,not expected to provide crystal clear water .This did a fine job of filtering out silt and dirt and suddenly house water pressure was better than ever. 5no top bottom seals for housing & large size winding's sediment getting past... the winding's are pretty thick around the entire exterior! this had me a little speculative at first that it would completely "seal" in a filter housing.Sure enough when I took it off there was more sediment flowing around the filter at the inlet side around the winding's there was still a large enough gap that sediment was getting by to the next filters due to this gap from there. Since this I've stopped using these after the first 2 had the same results. In future I will only purchase filters that contain a seal on both sides for sealing it to the filter housing. 2Spun around hard plastic tube which may prevent proper seating and cause leaks. The material is wound around a hard plastic tube, which is incompressible and may cause seating/sealing problems and leaks in your system (which it did for mine.Examine this vs fully woven filters where the material will compress into the system and ensure proper seating and sealing of the water system. Will be purchasing woven versions in the future. 1adds great chemical smell and taste to your water! Had used these for years, always kept some on hand. Lately my water would taste and smell like chemicals, know I now it is because they switched to making these in China. I threw out my remaining filters and will never ever buy from Culligan again. 1Works. Works, good price with the 15% subscription discount, no problems. Not much else to say for normal usage. That will probably change the next time I overhaul that section of my plumbing, to replace some HDPE with rigid copper, and add a bypass-backwash assembly to extend cartridge life. I'm a bit concerned this will loosen the wrapping, lowering its filtration rate (kind of like recharging an alkaline battery one or twice with diminishing returns). Will update this review when that project is complete. 5Not liking these filters. They're smaller than advertised & they have a strong chemical odor! My search for a 10 micron sediment filter for my RO - reverse osmosis sediment prefilter found these. The pros:+ Reasonably priced at $8.19 (2 pack) with free shipping when I bought these from MaxWarehouse.+ Pretty good customer product reviews.+ Advertised 10 micron filtration.+ Advertised - size: 9.75" H x 2.5" W x 2.5" D.+ Advertised - reduces fine sand, silt and rust particles.+ Advertised - wound, polypropylene construction.+ Advertised - filter life of up to 3 months or 12,000 gallons.+ Advertised - imported. Labeled made in China. The cons:- The actual diameter measures less than advertised... less than 2-1/4", meaning the filter media is around 3/8" thick!- The wrapped string looks loose, starting to unravel in the package.- No top or bottom seals.- Noticeable strong chemical odor coming from the unopened package.- Made in China For those that prefer to buy products made in the USA.Closing remarks: I decided not to use these filters, as the fitment is not as I wanted & they have a strong chemical odor, which some reviewers say will be transferred to the filtered water. I'm going to toss these & use these: iSpring FP110X2 10 micron 10" x 2.5" Universal Sediment Filter Cartridges, 15000 gallon, Multi-layer, NSF Certified (2 Pack) 2
