    Great so far! I bought this stick for my 2008 iMac and it's been great. There initially was a limitation to 4GB on the 2008 iMac but after some time it was confirmed that 6Gb would work. So I added this to my system with another 2GB and it's flying! 5DO NOT use in a Synology Box - I'm just sayin' Maybe I just got a bad stick or the planets were out of alignment, but this one piece of RAM took down my whole Synology DiskStation for about 2 months. It took that long to get it all rebuilt after the data was corrupted only a few days after inserting this stick of RAM. And that's on a machine that's been running over 7 years without ANY issues at all. And 4 days after installing the RAM the volume crashed and there was corruption all over the place. I had to rely on Synology support staff to fix everything remotely, and it was a very time-consuming process. In the end, I didn't lose anything, but I could have easily.For me, it was installed on a DS 1511+ and was supposed to be the right specs for the unit. The DS had only 1 gig of RAM but supports up to 3. I'm not back to just the original RAM and not even going to attempt any other upgrade. If it ain't broke, don't freakin' fix it! 1Dell Inspiron 1012 mini netbook - easy install, works great I am generally skeptical about buying third party memory, but after reading others' positive reviews I thought I'd give this a try. The memory module came in nice packaging and was very easy to install in my Dell Inspiron 1012 mini netbook. Swapping the memory modules took 5-10 minutes (it installs under the keyboard, no need to take the entire system apart) and when I powered up it booted right into Windows with no issues. A check of memory capacity indicated the full 2Gb.The performance difference was definitely noticeable. Keep in mind this is a netbook so no powerhouse to begin with but I felt my money was well spent. I didn't run any specific tests but I did run Netflix via Firefox (which was unwatchable before) and it run MUCH more smoothly. A few small pauses every once in awhile, but definitely not a bother for me. Boot up is faster and starting and closing applications is also noticeably faster. If you're considering upgrading your Dell mini I would try this memory and save yourself quite a bit of money over the Dell specified module. 5Initial problem, quickly resolved This memory was purchased for a Dell Vostro 1500 laptop. Two 2GB memory modules were purchased to provide Windows Vista Home Premium with the headroom it needed. Windows used almost all of this memory, after installation. I used the Crucial Memory web site [...]to find out what memory was recommended and what was the maximum my computer and operating system would support. The easy to use fill-in-the-blank questions gave me all the choices and information I needed to make the decision. I am very happy and impressed with how this memory has transformed my Vostro. It came with 1GB of memory, which was good for the previous operating system (XP Home Premium). But there was a very noticeable lack of quickness in loading programs and web pages after the upgrade to Vista. This memory upgrade has completely solved these problems and I could not be more pleased. I do need to mention that one of the original memory modules worked when received but did fail in a couple of days, giving memory access errors. I did not have any lingering computer problems or loss of data from this, thankfully. Crucial Tech support was quick and excellent in helping me determine that a module was defective. Amazon return was completely painless, quick, and very fair. I completed the online form for a replacement and was quickly sent 2 new modules (what I requested) and was issued a label for postage-free return of my first-purchased modules. The new modules worked perfectly and still are working without any problem. My returns were received and I was notified of this by email. I never had to pay for the second modules and was only warned that if they were not returned within a very generous time period, there would be a charge. The entire process was painless. I do not blame Crucial for the defect as after 30 years as a computer Tech, I know these things occasionally happen. The important point is the quick, no fault attitude and action from both Crucial and Amazon. I could not be more pleased. 5Works as expected I have a Dell Vostro 1500 that I only use for online banking. I have Linux Mint installed. With the original 1 Gb of memory the laptop was so slow that I was thinking of getting rid of it. I bought this memory upgrade instead and now the laptop is totally satisfactory. First attempt at installation failed. I used alcohol and a 'cotton swab' to clean the pins. Second try was successful! The hardest part was getting the ribbon cable for the keyboard back in the slot - twice. Hint: use a pick to push forward the nubs on either side of the blue connector. I'm a very happy camper. 5Works for HP Mini 210-1000 HD and 110-1030NR Edit March 2010:Look Ma, no screws! For some reason Crucial isn't showing the recommended memory for the HP Mini 210 netbooks yet. Their program will recognize that I have a 210, but it acts as if it doesn't know what that would require. I used the Microsoft Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade on my HP Mini 210 HD Netbook. So I did some research and first I tried to upgrade to Crucial CT51264AC800 4GB 200-pin SODIMM DDR2 PC2-6400 Memory Module knowing that the Mini would only recognize about 3GB but thinking that would still be good. The computer didn't recognize it at all. It wouldn't turn back on with the 4GB RAM inserted. I'm guessing my CPU speed of 1.66 GHz is too low or maybe the fact that I'm 32bit and not 64? I'm just kinda self-taught and wingin' it, so... So I paid return shipping since it wasn't Amazon's fault and tried again, this time with this item, Crucial Technology CT25664AC800 2GB 200-pin SODIMM DDR2 PC2-6400 Memory Module, the same one I used on my HP Mini 110-1030NR Netbook (instructions below) and it works beautifully.The HP Mini 210 is designed with no vents in the bottom, so now that I've purchased a smaller set of screwdrivers, I don't need them. You simply power off the computer, remove the battery, and push in the two little orange buttons you'll see revealed under the battery area. Apply a little pressure and pop off the bottom piece first on one side and then the other, making sure you've pushed the orange buttons in first. Then you can carefully pop off the remainder until the entire single piece is removed from the bottom of the computer. I was a little worried about this since it's plastic but it's a very strong plastic and I've removed it four times now with no sign of stress. Push out the retaining tabs on either side of the memory module, and it'll sort of pop up. Lift it out, and put your new memory in the same way. Push it down flat, making sure the two tabs snap back into place. When you put the bottom piece back on the computer, make sure you work backwards from the last point forward. You want to line up the entire edge opposite the battery side, make sure those tabs are in, then work your way forward to end with the last pieces around the battery area. I didn't do this the first time and couldn't get all the tabs to fit.____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Original review September 2009:I have never had a problem with Crucial memory, and you can't beat the price for the quality. It was quite simple to replace the 1GB of RAM that came with my HP Mini 110-1030NR Netbook with this 2GB module... even if you feel like you have absolutely NO idea about computer hardware, you CAN do this. It couldn't be simpler. For a notebook/netbook, power everything down, unplug anything external, and remove the battery. Then remove the panel that covers the RAM (with my HP Mini I only needed a #0 Phillips screwdriver) push out the two clips that are holding in the current module, and it just pops right out! Put the new one in exactly the same way, screw the panel back on, and you're off and running. I do recommend using an anti-static wrist strap, such as the Belkin Anti-Static Wrist Band with Adjustable Grounding, just to be safe.After you've powered everything back up again, right-click on your "My Computer" or "Computer" icon (on the Start Menu if you're running Windows), and click on Properties. You should now be able to see and confirm your RAM upgrade.For those of you wondering if a certain memory module will work with your computer, just go to Crucial's web site, let it detect your computer or type in the computer model that you're hoping to upgrade, and their system will tell you exactly what RAM modules and sizes will be compatible with your computer. Then you can price it out and end up buying it on Amazon :) 5great for netbooks I've purchased at least 3 of these just this month. I've bought more before to use on Macbook Pro and iMac. The purchases this month were for the Dell Inspiron Mini 10Vs.I also bought 3 mini 10v on Amazon for my parents and inlaws. They are just great. But the design on the Dell mini 10v was a pain; it almost was designed on purpose so you can't reach the RAM slot to upgrade. Anyway, it took 20 mins of work for each, but I managed to upgrade them. Oh, one of them was for Acer Aspire One with N450.Netbooks automatically recognize the 2GB RAM.The boot up time remained the same for 1 or 2GB, but the application start up time reduced significantly. Also the time to process tasks improved dramatically.I've used Crucial memory on my iMac and Macbooks and Macbook Pro. They are great and very stable.I've had some problems with Kingston ones (the cheaper value ones) but over all I noticed the Crucial is better than Samsung and Transcend. I've had trouble with Transcend as well and their customer service ignored me forever, even after calling 4 times and left messages 4 times, they still didn't call me back.This product is highly recommended though the price seems a bit high now. A few months ago it was about half the price. But still, Amazon is where to buy because with Prime membership, no shipping and no taxes. If other sites offering for a couple dollars less, it still beats all of them to buy at Amazon.Five stars. 5XLNT 200-Pin 800Mhz PC-6400 SODIMM/RAM! Works Perfect With Asus 1201N! For those of you just buying your 1st Asus product, this is the RAM for the 1201N if you need to know what goes in that notebook/netbook. The OEM configuration is 2 x 1GB SODIMMs, so you must replace *both* DIMMs with new 2GB modules to maxx out the SDRAM @ 4GB. There's a kit with 4GB of this SDRAM here at Amazon.com if you look for it, and the price is a tiny bit cheaper than buying 2GB twice like I did.With the 1201N, to install this upgrade to 4GB you must first disable Boot Booster in BIOS, ie do this BEFORE you take the notebook's RAM cover off and replace the memory modules. After replacing the modules, then boot back up into BIOS (F2 key, tap it every 1/2-second until you see the BIOS screen displayed) and go to the 1st window there where RAM is listed. Make certain that 4096MB RAM is being shown in that window, and you're good to go! Go to the BIOS screen (NO.3) where Boot Booster resides again, enable it, hit F10 to save and exit, hit Enter, and you're done! Boot back up normally into Windows after that to enjoy the 4GB RAM versus stock's 2GB RAM.I always like to make *triple sure* that all is well, and I use Everest Ultimate Utility with my PC's, all of them get it installed, and sure enough with Everest's display for RAM it showed 4GB RAM on board also, 2 x 2GB SODIMMs in slots 1 and 2, so all was good with my installation of this RAM. Windows Task Manager with the 1201N will show 3328MB RAM available, and that's Windows way of looking at it, there's nothing wrong with that-- 32-bit OS will only allow 3.25GB of RAM for the OS, and the rest ION graphics gets with the 1201N...so that's where the other contingent of RAM has 'vanished' to with Task Manager's assessment if you go there and look for available RAM.As to how the 1201N works with 4GB of RAM vs 2GB RAM? It is able to multi-task much better, and of course things are faster when you have multiple windows and programs open at the same time. I find that boot time improves also, in my case to less than 1 minute from a cold boot, and restarts take less than 30 seconds; with 4GB of RAM on board. I am not running the 32-bit OS though, so part of the credit for fast response goes to a nice, clean install of 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium, and I can highly recommend that to anybody who owns the 1201N...it transforms the notebook to a much better computer to dispense with all of the 32-bit garbage from AsusTek, all those drivers and utilities that do nothing but slow down the computer can be dispensed with, and the computer is that much better for it!Overall, the Asus 1201N loves 4GB of RAM, and it's a very worthwhile addition to an already great computer, perhaps the best notebook/small laptop that costs less than $500 today, you know? Having 4GB of RAM vs 2GB is an easy thing to do, the computer benefits a bunch, and your work will be easier, faster, with this nice Crucial RAM.For your information the RAM has 6-6-6-18-51-2T Clocks timing overall in the 1201N, so it's not the barn burner stuff that the Elpida RAM from Kingston is, but then again, it doesn't suffer from the problems of Elpida RAM either! So it's a good thing, I think, to use this RAM instead of the Kingston RAM, which is very aggressive with 4-4-4-12-34-2T Clocks timing. There are those who love the Kingston RAM, but I don't want to take a chance with Elpida RAM at this time...too many failures have been documented and I don't want that in my computers.That's about a wrap on this Crucial 200-pin 800Mhz PC-6400 RAM. I think it's a bargain at Amazon.com's pricing, it comes in a nice package so it's probably going to be aok fine in terms of a fragile transit...none of that here...and Crucial is good SDRAM, known to be effective, good brand RAM that works great in normal applications. I highly recommend this RAM for the Asus 1201N, it's the brand to get!Wavey Davey - 2-7-2010 5Works Perfectly !! Very pleased with this vendor. I would use them again. I had to exchange with vendor as the 800MHz stick wouldn't down-shift speed-wise. I shipped it back to them and vendor exchanged and shipped me a 666MHz replacement stick that worked PERFECTLY !!! It was totally my fault for guessing the wrong speed, due to inadequate documentation by the Laptop Manufacturer.As it happens, this old Laptop PC required the lower speed RAM. Windows is now running PERFECTLY with LOTS of RAM to use. I am very pleased. I would definitely buy from this vendor again. Very Pleased !!! 5Works good, just as RAM should (Apologies for the weak grammar in the title; evoking an old commercial.) ;-) This was the SECOND RAM upgrade I ordered. The first one was an Amazon Crate Deal, a Kingston "high performance" item, and unfortunately I had to send it back because it was DOA. So much for saving a couple of bucks! Buy your RAM brand new, kids!This Crucial memory upgrade came in the "original" packaging, and after checking yet again to be sure I had the right module for my Acer Aspire One D260, I opened the case again, slipped out the original 1GB RAM module, and inserted this 2GB module. Powered up the system, and THIS ONE worked GREAT! The system runs much more smoothly now. Ubuntu 12.04 really needed a little breathing room, and now I have 14 tabs open in Chromium and it's hardly sweating. With just 1GB RAM, I couldn't have opened another tab without having everything start to bog down. I don't run any Microsoft stuff on this thing but I believe you have to upgrade Windows to use more than 1GB RAM. Ubuntu recognizes and uses it all just fine.(The hard part on the D260 netbook is getting the thing open without destroying something. The tiny clips around the keyboard are nearly impossible to see, but a flat jeweler's screwdriver pushed them aside just fine. Sadly the second time I opened it I broke off a little plastic clip on the bottom of the case. The YouTube video I found warned me! Go slow and you'll do fine. If you have a different laptop or netbook, look around for SPECIFIC instructions on how to upgrade because they are all a little different. Acer tells you this one isn't upgradeable, which isn't true, but they sure don't make it easy!)I can wholeheartedly endorse this Crucial RAM upgrade. If your netbook is struggling to keep up, max out its RAM! 5
