Worked great and it's actually quite loud and it's VERY sturdy ... I had some very large classes this year, and no matter what I did I found myself overspeaking volume-wise. This saved me so much! Not to mention, this was my first teaching job, so I was sick a lot, too! Saving Grace! The belt clip did break - I wish it were a snap out/slide out so it could be replaced. That would be MUCH more convenient than buying an entire new unit. I used the neck strap the rest of the year, but it was a REAL pain in the you know where having so much stuff around my neck. 5I LOVE THIS THING I LOVE THIS THING!!!!! My teaching life just got a whole lot better!!! Charged it up and it works like a champ!!! 5Excelent helper for your classes It has been almost three weeks since I bought my voice amplifier and I do not have any complains. It has a been a great help for my voice (I have a cyst in one of my vocal cords) and I am able to speak at my normal tone. In fact, all my 33 students in Art and also in the class of Body Expression (which is a room with no furniture) are able to hear me.The voice amplifier Croove looks modern, it is small and I fell comfortable using the headset microphone. I will always use it since there is no sense in forcing your voice while you work. BUY IT, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT. The belt is comfortable as well.GOOD NEWS, Regarding the battery: when I received the voice amplifier it came already charged. Two days later I had to charged and it has been 7 days where I am using the voice amplifier and I had not needed to charge it.The best recommendation is to let the battery die and then charge it completely. 5Gets the job done... I m a line dance instructor at our local Senior Center utilizing a fairly large teaching area. This speaker s volume is excellent, the headpiece comfortable and feels secure. The around-the-waistband is a bit flimsy and the speaker tends to bounce a little when I move. (I wear it positioned on my back since I face the same direction as my dancers). The on-off switch for the speaker could be easier to operate. However, having said all that, I would order this same device immediately should the battery or whatever wear out on my current one. One of the few competitors in this line of equipment (Pyle 50 watt portable PA system with headset) which I had used initially was my first choice and even less expensive. But when I re-ordered after my first one died (shorted-out?), the one I received had no battery power and I had to return it, so I would be hesitant to try that one again, although it had a more secure waist band, easier on-off switch, but a little less volume and more delicate headpiece. There are not a lot of options on a hands-free head mic with a self-contained speaker (no amplifier, receiver, etc, required), so I am very grateful for this particular device. So much better than screaming out directions, especially over loud music. 4Low battery life and became quieter in less than one year! I got this voice amplifier on Sep. 18 last year. Everything was good and I was quite happy with it. However, recently it did not sound as loud as before even though the volume was turned to the maximum. For that reason, I had to talk with more effort so my students could hear me well. When this happened, I thought the battery was low and tried to recharge it. It was recharged for over night and the indicator light turned red, which meant it was fully charged. Since the maximum volume was still not as loud as when it was new. I left the charger on for another day. The next morning, it completely died! It couldn't be turned on at all. Very disappointed. It was less than one year of use!Update: One day after I posted my comment, I was contacted by the company and they offered to send me a new one free of charge. I received the new voice amplifier in 5 days. I have to say their service is excellent. I will keep observing its performance and maybe come back one year later to give another update. 1Parkinson's who patient loves this little unit!!! As a Parkinson disease patient, my voice is reducing in volume. I, however, purchased this product to help my dad, who is losing his voice because of Parkinson's Disease. This product does help my dad communicate a bit easier, but because his voice is really weak on some days, he needs to talk with the microphone right up against his lips for us to hear him. I purchased this unit after experiencing a chronic sore throat, and my doctor recommended I try a voice amplifier to reduce the strain on my voice. At first I looked at expensive wireless units, but you can imagine the response of my school administration when I asked for $3,000 to get a classroom system. After researching this Croove unit, I decided to give it a try. For the past 3+ months I have been using it quite a lot, four days a week, 3 90-minute classes each day. The battery holds a charge better than expected (I only have to charge it once a week), my students tell me they can hear and understand my voice just fine when I use it, and best of all, no more sore throat. Overall I am pleased with the purchase. My only complaint is that the unit produces significant feedback and squeals loudly if I turn my head in just the wrong way, but I can deal with that. 4This little thing surprisingly gets the job done! This little box gets the job done! I am a music teacher and have had some vocal issues (mostly fixed by vocal therapy) and this little thing has been a lifesaver this school year. I had a fancy $1000 Redcat Access system in my last school that cannot be beat but I got this to use until the next budget season rolls around as I was paying out of my own pocket.First, I knew I could not teach with a headset on so I ordered this clip-on mic - the Olympus Noise Cancelling Microphone - First of all, you need a mono plug - one stripe on the end or it will not work as I had ordered some other fancy thing that had two stripes and I learned my lesson there - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MYPPPE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - this mic works REALLY well. The cord is kind of dangly and needs to be tucked in behind the box, but it gets the job done. I always wear a lanyard with my keys on it so the clip on mic hooks there just fine! Olympus ME-52W Noise Canceling MicrophoneThe waist belt is just marginally okay on this - it's not particularly flattering, but I would not trust the plastic clip on the back to stay clipped alone. (My clip on the speaker actually broke a month into using this speaker as it was clipped into the front pocket of my black dress pants and when I bent over to pick up a student's flute book the clip snapped inside my pocket. Doh! Luckily, I had the lap belt on so the speaker didn't fall and hit the floor.) The lap belt seems to loosen throughout the day and kind of flops around so I do miss having the clip to at least keep it from spinning around to my backside. If I had any creative fashion sense I would try to make my own belt that was kind of stretchy and a bit more flattering. There are loops on the back of the speaker that the current waist belt hooks into.Also - when I have to bend over I know that I need to turn the speaker box off as there is WICKED feedback when the Olympus mic gets close to the speaker. It silences a room of kids, for sure, but that's not quite my teaching approach. =) I am not sure how the mic that comes with it is with feedback.I LOVE that it is rechargeable. It seems to be taking longer to charge than when I first got it in September (It is now January), but I can usually plug it in right at 7:30 am and it is fully charged by 8:00, so that's acceptable.So, if you are looking for a pretty inexpensive option, I would honestly look into the Croove! It definitely has been worth the $ I paid for it so far. 4great for elementary teachers as well as college professors. I bought this for my sister in law who is a 1st grade teacher. She has 6 classes with about 28 students in each. She has been having trouble with her vocal cords at the end of the day because all the talking she has to do. She loves this amplifier because it helps her to speak with a lower voice, saving her vocal cords unnecessary stress. She liked it so much that bought a second one for her mother (an university professor) who is also in love with this product. 5
