Customer Reviews

Capped at 100Mbps, don't order! (tested thoroughly) DO NOT BUY THESE. I bought three of them, and not ONE of them will run at 1Gbps speed; they all cap at 100Mbps. I tested all three cables across two different switches AND two different computers. I use one of my regular existing cables; auto-negotiates at 1Gbps, no problem. I even tried three spare shorter cables I have and they all work at 1Gbps no problem on both my desktop and laptop. Even forcing 1Gbps full duplex mode on the NICs of both computers with these cables fails.Amazon also tells me this item is ineligible for return. Fantastic. I wasted the price of three of these cables. Very much NOT happy. Also in case anyone's thinking I did something wrong; NOPE. I tested these on the same exact port of my switch and also an Asus router, both of which feed 1Gbps to other computers and devices on the SAME ports I tested these cables with. They are absolutely defective, or at least the batch I received are.EDIT: Amazon chat support refunded this purchase instantly without requiring me to send it back, so good on them; disregard the part of the review where I complain about not being able to return the item. :) Still completely ignore this item and seller, however. 1Working great for me! Seems to be a good product based on my experience. I decided purchase this brand of cable after reading through the reviews.I ran 100 feet of this cable from my router on my second story, up through the attic, and then down to a Fire TV on my first story. Really improved the performance of the Fire TV.So when i needed 50 feet for a run to another first story TV, I went with this same cable, running it behind some crown molding. Again it was a fairly painless process and I'm getting a great signal using this cable.I was careful to treat the cable gently while fishing it through the house, and made sure not to kink it at all. And of course I only ran it through the interior of the house. The price is right, so I wouldn't hesitate to buy this brand of cable again. 5Just buy it, it works and solves many computer issues. The 50 Ft. Cable arrived on time and just as pictured. Shipped it will have the cable rolled up and in a plastic bag, then coupled with a plastic air bag pouches. The entire cable is what seems to be of high quality and decent thickness where it will not twist and tangle. If you look at the picture you can see that there is some protection for the clip that will click into place into your device. Any cable that does not come with ridge projecting that small plastic is total waste, not so with this cable.Speeds are as expected for Ethernet cables, Cat 6 is makes a world of a difference from previous platforms. You should expect to see speeds higher than your Wi-Fi router can produce, even if you are sitting right next to it. I have mine connected directly from my Tenda Router to my Desktop Computer. Downloading large files and Online Gaming ( Battlefield 4 ) have drastically improved. WebPages and games do not disconnect as frequently when compared to being on Wi-Fi.In conclusion, great cable quality and really the reason you are looking at this is the price. I have yet to see anything lower in price, with Prime Shipping, and in 50 foot length under $10. 5Stupid me assumed that it was functional I ordered 75" of this cable. Stupid me assumed that it was functional, SO I ran it across my apartment, and guess what? It was useless. I had a comp tech look at it, and of course it was defective. I left several messages with the seller, requesting a refund, BUT the seller refuses to acknowledge me. I HAD to give this seller 1 start, to be able to post this. 1 star is generous, and I'm forced to give it. Steer clear of this!!!!!!!!! 1Great cable! This cable works very well. I like the snug fit of the RJ-45 connectors and the snag less clip protectors. Pulling a cable out of a birds nest of wires always break the lock clips off of the cables, rendering them useless. The snag less protectors prevent that from happening. Other companies use snag less protectors that are awkward and almost require a pair of pliers to compress them. These work very well. Also, the choice of colors for the cables makes it easier for identification when you have several connections going on in one location at the same time. It's hard to believe you can get this quality at this price. I highly recommend these cables. 5I could have done fine with 50 foot even Let me start out with saying, 75 feet is LONG. I could have done fine with 50 foot even. I needed to run the cable from the office in my house, through a wall and then under carpet 2 rooms down. That is kind of hard to measure so I went for a longer length.Needless to say tho the actual quality of the cable is VERY high. It is not very flexible but for very good reason! It will not bend or break or mess up a wire inside the cord as easily as my other cords. I can already tell the different in Cat5 and Cat6. This Cat6 has a faster transfer rate then my Cat5 I had used for my computer. The signal is good through the cable and I would highly recommend this to others.Reason for buying:Bought the same one on Newegg, shipping was going not arrive untill Monday over the weekend when I needed it asap for my needs. So I ordered the same one over Amazon and one day shipped it. 5Good construction; does the job just fine I ordered this cable to replace a dying Cat-5e 100 ft. cable. Installation was unremarkable (it's an ethernet cable, after all -- plug it in on both ends and you're done, and it either works or it doesn't) and trouble-free. With the old cable, the host and switch rarely negotiated a full gigabit link; with this one, we've reliably observed gigabit links during every test. The cable's exterior sheath is soft and matte, not shiny and rigid like most ethernet cables I've come across over the years. It was easier to grip and handle as we ran the cable from the switch, through the house and over to the target PC; the protective cover on each end prevents bending and breaking off the connector's locking tab without interfering with its operation when needed.Pros:- Works as advertised (signalling was tested briefly at 10 gigabit with no issues observed; normal operation for this cable for us has been at gigabit, again with no issues)- Soft, non-slick matte exterior sheath protects the cable and ensures easy roll-up for storage without knots and tangles- Cheaper than Monoprice (as of this writing; your milage may vary)Cons:- None so far 5Wow, nice cable, great price! Wow, this is a nicely made cable! I had considered another inexpensive cable I saw on here, but I'm glad I chose this particular brand. The cable is well made and feels like the casing and tips are both heavier and better made than the Cat 5 blue cable it replaced. I threaded it through a ceiling with no issues, and the flap over the clip definitely helped the clip not break. I can see this cable lasting long enough to take to another house when I move, it's very thick and durable, if you're trying to decide between brands, I think you'll be happy with the build quality on this one, especially for the price offered! 5Junk - A Ripoff! Cat 5 performance at a cat 6 price. Won't do 100 mbs. The last test was 48 mbs. Waited 12 days for this to arrive and it isn't any better than the cat 5 cable I threw away. I won't buy anything from this seller ever again. I have a 35 ft. cat 6 and a 10 ft. cat 6 with a coupler that does 236 mbs. This is a ripoff. Update: These idiots contacted me and asked if I would take down my review just "Because". I want to advise people who are looking for a cable that will accept modern internet speeds that the cable I received was not as advertised and a "refund" wasn't worth the 12 days I waited for this to be delivered. The time it took to install this behind furniture with cable holders isn't worth a "Thanks for Playing!" from these idiots. 1Is what it says My seller sent the cables and they arrived earlier than promised by 2 day normal mail on free standard shipping. The USPS estimated time of arrival it came a day late, but that was THEIR estimated time and according to amazon it wasn't supposed to be here till june 2nd and that's 3 days away. I got them yesterday. Kudos to the seller on that, your experience may vary based on the reseller. Both cables plug in and click on my switch and computers which are standard PC RJ-45 plugs. The cables are clearly marked as Cat6 cables. Both cables are in fact rated for transfer speeds of 1gb as my router provides both lights (one fore 10/100 and the other for 1000mb transfer speeds) to confirm that these cables will in fact run at high speed. The snagless part of the cable is exactly as pictured. One of my cable ends had the tab on top of the snagless part which might be what people were having problems with but with a little tweaking I was able to fold the snagless tab so that the tab could be pushed into place and it worked fine. This only happened on one connector on one of the 2 cables I bought (of 4 total connectors). If you don't like it, you can easily take a pocket knife to the snagless tab and cut it off if it gets in your way. No harm no foul.As far as not being "white" as people are complaining about, they look pretty white to me. I don't know what the others are complaining about. Maybe its more of an off-white or their paint they're trying to match is "perfectly white" I don't know. Me personally I could care less about the color, but to me its more white than my beige walls, so I can't fault the manufacturer. Maybe they got a bad batch of color or they're color blind. No idea but they look white to me. You're not going to hide cables by matching color anyways. Run them thru your ceiling or paint them the exact color you want. Mine are run across a hall with brown duct tape on them and then covered by a throw rug. I don't see them at all.The only thing you might want to be sure of is that you protect the cable if you plan to run it on the ground. The casing on the outside seems a little weak. That's why I covered mine with duct tape before running it under the carpet. It hopefully will help hold it together. It also does kink pretty easy but with proper handling you shouldn't have problems with it. Just don't fold the cable up and pinch it yourself or try to yank it around corners or whatever. (You know, common sense).Overall these cables are what was promised and I bought two of them and both were identical, and work. My kids can play minecraft again on the internet and are happy so I'm happy. These ones are a lot better than others who do bait and switch. My last set were like that, these weren't. You can't beat the price either. Mine were a little under $7 a cable. For 50' of Cat6 cable, you won't beat that price at best buy or other name brand stores. you'd be lucky to get a 6' cable for that price. Easy 5 stars. 5
