Customer Reviews

Work great on a Mac running X-Plane. I'm finally able to properly similar true rudder control on X-Plane 11 with these pedals. Should have done this a long time ago.Pros: Easy calibration within X-Plane. Seem substantial and hefty enough. Rubber feet seem to hold well to my hardwood floors.Cons: The brake springs are a little weak so don't truly provide the same resistance as an actual Cessna172 brakes pedal. Plus default brake pressure settings in X-Plane seems too sensitive and lock up the tires easily. But this can probably be finessed with addition calibration adjustment in X-Plane. 4Great pedals, sturdy and precise So far so good. The CH brand reputation seems to be living up to what everyone says about them.I was torn between this and the Saitek, but looking around even on other websites, Saitek don't have a stellar history of QC and durability. While on the other hand CH have industry recognition in their equipment.Pros:-Well built, tough plastics, no bending or creaking-Sturdy base, does not slide on my tile floor-Plug and Play-Virtually no dead zones needed, very precise-Good feedback, needs getting used to if you have never used pedalsCons:-Uncomfortable without shoes/slippers, the pedals are not extremely long so your toes could hang over-Cumbersome, not very low key-Possible issues with tracks allowing dirt in, have not verifiedWith this, I can say that CH have definitely made me consider their other products (like Fighterstick and Throttle) for the future (just need to get over the 90s LEDs)People have complained that the pedals are close together, I think that this is quite realistic for some aircraft and with the correct sitting position you can find them to be pretty perfect.Would recommend 5 out of 5. 5Flight Sim Must! A lot of folks will use the CHPro stick and throttle but use another brand of pedals. That's because these pedals have earned the nickname "ball crushers" in the community. I almost didn't order them for that reason, I'm so glad I did. Maybe it's because I'm an avid cyclist and am used to such things, or it may be a problem for those heavier set individuals, but I got no problems. I love these, the 3 piece CHPro setup (stick, throttle, pedals) has made me a superior pilot. They do cost quite a bit but are fantastic, very well built and super responsive. My enemies rue the day I switched to CHPro! 5Not Compatible with Windows 10, No Manufacturer Support The programmability of these pedals depends on software which has not been updated in 4 or 5 years, and which has major compatibility problems with Windows 10 - randomly freezing or refusing to recognize the pedals. The manufacturer offers only email and forum support, and they simply ignore all requests for help or attempts to report the compatibility problems. The forum has a huge number of posts complaining about this same Windows 10 problem, and about the fact that they are being ignored by the company.CH Products used to be a great company until they were bought by APEM. Now their quality, and their support, have plummeted. 1Robust casing, fragile electronics. This is my second set of these pedals. In general, I like CH Products, and my first set lasted over 15 years. The only issue with that first set is that the connecting wires are very, very thin and due to movement inside the case, they will eventually separate. The first time was after about five years of plenty of usage. I soldered them back together and the pedals worked for another few years, and the wires separated again. Again, I soldered them but they lasted only about a month.Time for a new set, and a new disappointment. The right pedal was improperly calibrated for the toe brake. It provided full brake actuation after only about 50% of the travel. No amount of adjustment or calibration could correct this. I used CH Control Manager to calibrate, no luck. Standard Windows 10 Device calibration, no luck. I checked the potentiometer, even swapping it for the "good" one in my old set. No luck. The most disappointing part of the experience was the rough rudder actuation. It felt rough and granular, not smooth like my first set. This did not lead to smooth control of the aircraft yaw axis and was very annoying. Now I have two sets of pedals, but they are on their way to an electronics recycling facility.I don't say these pedals might not work for years and be completely satisfactory for the vast majority of users; they DO work just fine in Windows 10 and for FSX/P3D. They are physically robust, but the electronics are very fragile and the mechanism is not as smooth as I would expect.I ordered the Thrustmasters for about 80 bucks. We'll see. 3Great for beginners (like me) Ok, these aren t fantastic. They re great for beginner or casual gamers (like me) looking for some mild flight simming, civ aviation type stuff. If you re looking to do aerobatics or serious combat sim stuff, or you re rough with devices, or it has to stand up to abuse from kids... maybe look into modding this or going with a more substantial set of pedals. If you re looking at these you re probably wondering if you should go with Saitek or Thrustmaster or what. Unfortunately, there doesn t seem to be a middle-tier provider of flight sim gear. It s either entry level stuff like this, or drop big bucks for some serious hardware from actual sim hardware companies. That stinks.Personally, I made the choice to go with these because they re simple: Less stuff to break. There are fancier pedals out there with toe brakes and tension dials and the like, but reviews indicate that the flimsy plastic on all these things generally breaks quickly. These pedals are relatively simple, chunky, clunky. They feel pretty solid and smooth. I think they ll last a while if I don t really use them hard.Overall, these are ok. I use these for maybe an hour or two a week and they ve been fine. They do slide around a bit because they re not very heavy, but maybe some shelf liner or carpet tape would keep them in place. For me, they don t move enough to be an annoyance. I d anything, I m happy that they can be moved relatively easily because I game from an office chair on casters; I m not always in the exact same spot. They have some spring to them, not a lot. I ve never used any other pedals at all (let alone the real thing) but my feeling is that I d want more spring to return them to a neutral position.Toe brakes work well, no problem there. Null zone isn t as big a deal on the toe brakes since generally you aren t doing much fine detail work with it.I use them with Xplane 11 and FS2000. Recognized by both without issue, totally plug and play. 4Solid performance at a fair price.. I have 2 sets of these and have had no issues ever with solid performance. They worked right straight out of the box the first time and every time after day 1. I use them on carpet so I'm not sure if they would move much on hardwood or tile. Truly I think not much because of the weight they have, it helps keep them in place for me.As far as product quality I have many other CH product flight sim hardware components and every last item is super well made and plug and play for the most part. One set of my rudder pedals are over 2 years old and one is 1 month old and the older set looks like the day I took them out of the box and works just like day 1.You may pay more and find even better performance but for me playing FSX,P3D,XPlane 10, A10, and Rise of Flight these are all I will ever need. I'm totally satisfied with product performance and build (Quality) so if I need another set this will be it. 52014 Review of rudders Ch products are the best priced and constructed flight sim items out there.I do really wish the the guys at CH would update their product. They could definitely add places for suction cups, or traction pads on their products. However, you can find what you need at Home Depot for the type of floor you have. The software is what makes CH products rule. You can get pretty advanced with the programming of the rudder pedals. The toe brakes are especially nice to use, as they detect angles pretty well. The software also wraps all of the CH Products into one joystick if needed, because many games only support one joystick. The spring tension is fine, and does not cause fatigue. It also recenters to zero fine.I am using this for Star Citizen, and having full rudders takes some getting used too, but my precision is far better than having it in a joystick twist. It is also less fatigue on the hand. I just have to be more coordinated using my feet. For $100 they are a great deal, and I know they will last me many many years. If you look at the reviews of many other brands you will find poor build quality an issue. For runway opperations and full throttle prop plane take off, rudders are a must have for realism. The only con, is the movement noise it makes. 5no longer supported by manufacturer :( i bought these pedals along with a fighter stick and throttle. the software that programs and calibrates the peripherals is out of date and will not work with windows 10. the programmer that worked on the software retired and nobody has taken his place. although the items all work they have limited functionality and sometimes are not recognized by games. i wish i would have just bought a warthog setup or other thrustmaster products that are at least supported and work with current games. i hope this review saves someone else headaches in the future. now im just going to fork out the extra money and cry once from now on. 1Look elseware I picked this us for use with FSX. Let's start with the good it is plug and play and set up was very easy. That being said however the unit just feels cheaply made and my major concern is that there is a bump in the motion that is meant to hold it still locked in the center. This causes you to WAY over correct when you need just a little rudder it goes shooting off. 1
