Customer Reviews

Great organization and long lasting! I bought this bag as a sometimes computer carrying travel bag, but mostly for a camera bag. I changed jobs and started traveling and grabbed this because it was on hand. After 5 years of use and two years of extensive air travel this bag has been great. It has tons of pockets for organization and a great pocket for your laptop. The only thing that has had any deterioration is one of the zipper pulls just started to fray(not a big issue). Very durable and very useful! 5Nice backpack, light, sturdy and perfect for the stuff I have I was scouring Amazon and the entire internet looking for the ideal backpack for my situation. I think I may have spent a good 2 days on research alone until I decided on this great backpack.I have a 15.6 laptop that I paid premium price for and was concerned about protecting this from any further beating. For the time being, I was using my pull-along Samsonite laptop bag with a pull-out handle. Not only was the darn thing clumsy and unbalanced, it provided poor protection on the bottom of the bag and little did I know that my laptop was being scratched internally from the frame for the pull-out handle. After the handle finally gave-out, it was time to replace it. I was contemplating whether or not it was feasible to purchase a backpack that had wheels, thinking that I may need to use it when going on vacations. I could see myself pulling this thing through the terminals and off to my boarding gate- but then again, that only happens maybe once a year. I also didn't want to look like I borrowed this from my daughter or have that schoolboy look. I decided to go with a backpack since I needed something light enough to carry my laptop, charger, mouse & headphones. Boy did I really hit the gold mine on this pack. Not only is it very lightweight, but the back support is rigid and keeps its shape. The straps are very comfortable to wear and it feels like it's not even on my back at all. It doesn't sag with the weight I'm currently carrying (approx 6lbs). It's padded enough on the bottom of the pack where I can gently set it down on the ground without fear that it may cause damage to my laptop. It's also padded between your back and the laptop and the pouch it sits in fits perfectly. The zipper comes over the top and encloses it over the laptop quite well. I really like the side pouches and I found use for those rather quickly for the charger and mouse.Overall, great buy, affordable and the materials are very durable. I bought the gray/red version and it stands out quite well. Highly recommend this pack if you're on a sub $50 budget and don't mind lugging this on your back. 5An Efficient and Frugal Choice For Me I've had this backpack for 10 months now and it holds up well under light use - about 2-3 days a week. From what I observed and experienced, the pack is well constructed. The stitching looks good and the outer canvas looks thick and durable. It should be noted that I walked approximately 2 miles in light rain with this pack before. And although the outer layer is completely wet, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the inside is bone dry.For what I need at work, the bag has plenty of room to hold some accessories such as a mouse (since I don't like using the laptop's touch pad), some CD/DVDs, a clip board, a couple notebooks, a caliper, and some small stationery such as magnifying glass, notepad, pen and pencil, etc. In addition, the laptop slot is a good fit for my Dell Inspiron. Therefore, so far, I find that this backpack is great for light duty - and probably also medium duty - overall. However, I do not think it is adequate for extended heavy duty usage with larger or heavier load. For example, thinking back of my college days, where I lugged a backpack with 2-3 averaged-sized textbooks and a thick binder around the campus up to half a day and 4-5 days per week, this backpack is not built for that.As for look, it is a matter of pure opinion. It may not be aesthetically pleasing enough for some, but it is OK for me, since I was basically looking for something that is plain, sturdy, and economical. In fact, it is a little too 'chic' for my taste. I prefer something that looks like a government issued military pack, but could not find any in this price range. As is, I am very pleased with the quality of this pack - especially when taking the price into consideration. However, there are two features that I'd really like to see. First, although my laptop fits horizontally, it'd be really nice to have a velcro strap on the top slot opening so that there is no room for any vertical movement of the laptop whatsoever. Granted, unless I turn the pack upside down, my laptop won't move vertically, but I'd still feel more secure with a strap. Second, the padding is good for a pack this size, but I'd like to see thicker padding at the bottom of the pack. Again, it would make me feel more secure in case I inadvertently put my pack down a little quicker and harder than I mean to.In conclusion, this is a well-made laptop backpack at a good price. And - although it may sound like a no-brainer - depending on what you are using it for and how you are planning on using it, if they are a good match, then this pack would be an excellent choice. 4SIX STARS! I am extremely critical and rarely rate anything 5 stars, but this one deserves a 6. Here's why:1) This bag is high quality, which would normally get a 4 star rating (in my book).2) There are a lot of extraordinary fine details that you would normally find with luxury brands (like stitched zipper tags, micro fiber lining and padded inner pockets). These extraordinary details puts it over the top compared to other "nice bags" you might find. This would push the rating up to 5 stars.3) The final factor that puts it up to 6 stars is the price. This is one of the cheapest bags in this class, and the quality and details is beyond exceptional compared to its competition. This is a high quality bag with exceptional details at a price that is cheaper than its competition... i can't ask for anything more. This bag is awesome. 6 stars. 5Great functional bag I had the earlier version of this bag and was bummed when I couldn t find it again. It had lasted 5+ years of traveling 3/4 weeks. I reluctantly bought this bag and it s been just as good if not better. Very sturdy construction for everyday travel. Not necessarily built for outdoor use. Plenty of pockets for your various needs. My only complaint is the Velcro that secures the adjustable shoulder strap. While securing the excess strap is a great idea the use of Velcro is not. The Velcro catches on your shirt/sweater/jacket fabric and it becomes picked. I was able to solve this with a small amount of tape wrapped around the Velcro. For me this is no big deal and easily fixed but I can see this might be an issue if it ruins a favorite shirt or sweater.Still 5 stars for me but if the designers could fix that one issue I think this would be the perfect business travel backpack. 5Good commuter backpack I bought mine for a new job where I have to lug a heavy standard 16" laptop back and forth. It has enough room for the laptop, shoes, lunch, notebook, pen, standard folding headphones, keys and tiny headset. On occasion I can also stuff in small things from home that I want to take to work.It has very well thought out compartments. There is a small pouch at the top of the bag that is perfect for keys and my tiny phone earpiece. There are two large unstructured compartments in the main interior with a partition. One side is for the laptop and the other is pretty big. Then there is a smaller zippered compartment with lots of pockets for power block, mouse, notebook, pen, cards etc. There are two fully zippered "water" pockets on either side. The last thing I want to do is add more weight by carrying water around. I put my lunch in the left one and my big noise-cancelling headphones on the right. When the bag is on my lap it is very quick to take the headphones in and out of the right-hand pocket. The only negative, and I'm not sure any other bag would be different, is that it does hurt my back after awhile. It's well-padded so I don't mean things are digging in. It's just the sheer weight of what I carry and the distance I walk every day. Have not experimented with adjusting straps yet b/c they seemed OK out of the package. The ends of the straps come rolled up so they are neat and out of the way. 4Great bag! After being disgusted at the selection for laptop bags and backpacksat Best Buy, Office Depot, Target, and Walmart..I decided to just check Amazonknowing that it is pretty much a go-to place for nearly everything...First off, the nylon is great quality, and the features that impressed me right awaywas the hefty handloop at the top, the velcro things that holds the excess straps, and the massive zippers. Being prior military with deployments, I take value in theoversize zippers with their added durability. I understand this is a laptop pack butstill its a nice touch. There is also another strap on the front to grab ifyou're laying it flat on a table to open it..nice touch! The straps as a whole and the padding is of good quality and it fits the shoulderswell so it will ride on the back nicely.I haven't been able to investigate all the small details, but I will say it fits my 15.6"laptop with a little more wiggle room but not enough to imply that its going to jostlearound. I imagine you could fit a couple of college books in there depending on thickness. The front pocket has pockets to carry the other stuff like a mouse, thumbdrive..and wella lot more. There is also a small pocket on the top for maybe an MP3 player or cellphone or both.I guess if there was one thing, the pack is kind of "square'ish" but really that is a very very minordetail. I considered all the other options, and price aside this was still one of the most ideal options....and nevermind that ridiculous one made by Thule for $130. Sure it's bigger, but if you want biggerthere are much better option out there at half the price. The Kelty Bender comes to mind. 5Sturdy, well-made Sturdy, well-made. Lots of organizational pockets. You can't keep a water bottle in the side pockets like the video shows, though. The zipper will slide open a little with every step you take. It also doesn't have *that* much room. My son can fit a Chromebook, texbook, two novels, a lunch bag and water bottle, and some small items like a power bank and wallet. A sweatshirt can also be maneuvered in with all that (not very comfortably). The backpack can also hold a 2" zippered binder if it doesn't have any books in it.My son had a backpack from Lands' End before he got this one. It was much roomier and could hold a lot more, but it doesn't distribute the weight as well as this one. The same items will feel lighter in the Case Logic backpack. 5A Great Bag for the Value - Did Not Fit My Needs INITIAL IMPRESSION:This backpack is fairly nice, and is pretty comfortable. It fits my shoulders pretty well even though I'm a really big guy, although the lack of padding on the straps will rub against the undersides of my arms (this probably wouldn't be a problem for people who aren't fatties like me). I specifically bought this bag because it's a yoke-style bag, something that isn't often advertised (but is greatly appreciated).Construction is pretty nice. The zipper on the primary pouch is OVERKILL large; a very hefty zipper that you might see on some large luggage bags. It's not a problem, though, as being extremely heavy duty makes up for the fact that it's not double-zippered (being a laptop bag). The handle is not at a very convenient angle and puts undue stress on a single side of the stitching whenever you pick the back up using the handle. As long as you're not toting the bag around by the handle on a regular basis, this probably won't be a problem. The bag was NOT able to safely fit my laptop, which is a 2017 Inspiron 15 7000 Gaming edition, and has a profile of H1" W15.15" D10.86". The padding in the laptop sleeve is sufficient and holds my older laptop VERY well, but I would NOT recommend this backpack to hold laptops that are more than 14.5" wide physically. The main compartment fits my original Xbox One console very well, with room for the power brick, a set of Sennheiser Urbanite XL headphones, and an Xbox One controller with some wiggle room and spare pockets to spare. The primary compartment is not padded, however.Overall, I would recommend this bag if what you want to put in it will fit. Will update this review if any problems arise, but judging from the construction, I don't see that happening in the next year or so. 4Great for travel or school This is a fantastic backpack for what it's designed to be used for. It doesn't have all the extra straps like you'd find on a backpack used for hiking or outdoors use, this is for electronics and (I use it for) plane travel. There are straps on each side so you can get it out from under the airplane seat easily from any angle. There is a pocket up at the top I can use to put my glasses or sunglasses in if I want to sleep on the plane and not worry about them getting squashed. It has dedicated pockets I can put my laptop, charger, kindle, and phone into and two easily accessible outside pockets for things you might use during travel that you don't want to have to dig around in the main compartment for. It's very well made with sturdy feeling zippers and zipper pulls, and it doesn't look cheap either. I'm really impressed. This replaced a bag that cost 3x more and I like it alot better. I might update this review after more use to see how it holds up after an extended time.Edit: I've had this almost a year now and it's been to Europe and all over North America and planes and school use. I've spilled food and drinks all over it, thrown it around, kicked it under airplane seats - and (after you wipe it off) it still looks and behaves like brand new. 5
