Customer Reviews

Mmmmm.... hard to rate....Years ago, I got a much better quality 208 media binder. It's a brand that didn't even exist anymore - sad. My old one is THICK, HIGH QUALITY fabric with shine and sturdiness. This material seems MUCH cheaper, thinner, and ready to rip. Also, the binder itself is less sturdy.Unfortunately, in this digital age, even finding a media storage binder at all is difficult! I knew I needed one that has pages that can be moved around or added to... and I did not not not want those with the weird binding - I wanted ring binding! All of that said, 15 years ago I would have given this two stars. Now, because lack of demand has created a lack of options, I'm simply happy to have it and not be forced to buy the weird binding ones. So four stars it is!4Not so great. The CD sleeves are made of cheap plasticNot so great. The CD sleeves are made of cheap plastic. It's hard to get the CDs in, they wrinkle up and feels like each sleeve put a lot of pressure on the CDs, which will eventually out shape the CDs and put a bend in them. And the pages are not easily turned as there is this bulky metal spiral binder and it's hard to explain, but not functional is best to describe it.I don't recommend this product to anyone, although the brand seems to be one of the well-known ones!1Not the quility I'm used to with this brandThis CD binder was just plain awful. Case Logic was usually my favorite brand because of how well made and sturdy they were. This one was a disappointment for a number of reasons..........1. The CD inserts open to the side so will CD's slide out if you carry it by the handle. And if the slots were actually make wide enough to just slide the disc's into2. The individual CD slots are so tight, that I can barely the disc into it without tearing or stretching the plastic slots. These are so tight you really have to work at getting in cd/dvd into them. It's even worse if you want to use the back slots. These are made like most cases with slots on front and back of each page.3. Slots are so small, they cause the sleeve to bubble up and scratch so ot does not stay flat.3. The zipper difficult to close . You have to hold the case closed with one hand while sipping it up with the other.4. This us a 3-ring CD binder with rings so big, that it causes the pages to push out making it hard to zip.5. In order to be able to close it I had to remove 15 pages from it. Otherwise it would not have closed or would have caused damage to the dvd's from pressure and tightness.1Best CD binder you'll find for 8 bucks I've bought several CD/DVD binders, but this one is by far the best. The sleeves have white strips on them that you can label so whenever you remove one or more discs, you know exactly which sleeve each one goes back into. The roughly 5.5" square removable CD/DVD sleeves hold one disc on the front side and one on the back. This makes it super easy to keep them organized because you can insert a new disc without messing up your ordering. Most of the disc binders I've used don't have removable pages, and the ones that do usually have a single page that holds 2 to 4 discs on each side. If you have to insert one disc, that means you'll be wasting 3-7 slots unless you then move all the the discs that come after the newly-inserted disc to fill the empty slots. The one and only thing I don't like about it is that its nylon-wrapped plastic binder shell has a tendency to want to open, so you have to zip it before standing it on its end on a shelf. When you do zip it up, it bulges in the middle, it sometimes doesn't fit very well with the other items on the shelf. If you just toss it around your car, this isn't a big deal. But if you're storing it on a shelf, it would be nicer if the binding and covers were made of the more rigid, square, flat plastic-wrapped cardboard like Avery office binders. 4Good case, oddly designed pages.I have 11 of the large Case Logic CD storage cases. Just about every one of them has a different style of storage page, and that is frustrating. It is like they could not make up their mind as to what makes a descent page, or they kept changing them for some obscure reason. Some of those pages have an excellent design, but others are just wierd. Some make you put the CD on the front and the liner on the back of the page. With some you insert the CD from the top, others the side. Some fit 3-ring notebooks, some are made for proprietary binders. You never know. Aside from that, the cases are well made. I have never had a zipper fail with a Case Logic unit. The individual pages are well made, but may be designed oddly. You never know. Since I am nearly done collecting CDs, this might be my last one, but if it is not, the next one I buy will be made by Case Logic.3CD's WON'T FIT---- Don't Buy!This CD binder was just plain awful. First off, we've been using CD binders to store our DVDs and Blurays for about 10 years, buying additional ones as needed. We've used quite a few different brands. Case Logic has always been our favorite. This one was a disappointment. Here are the reasons why:CONS:1. The CD inserts open to the side. (If the binder is laying flat, unopened in front of you, with the handle to the left--- the CD'S have to be inserted from the right). This feature would make the CD's slide out as you flip through the pages.2. The individual CD slots are so tight, that I can barely fit a regular CD in there without tearing or stretching the plastic slots.3. Adding onto #2--- Because the slots are so small, they actually overlap! Yes, there was actually an overlap of 2 CD's! This would cause scratching.4. The zipper does not function properly, has to be held straight using 1 hand while trying to zip it up with the other.5. This us a 3-ring CD binder. The rings are so big, that it causes the binder to not stay closed unless it is zipped up.PROS:I can't even think of any, I'm just so disappointed.I tried this one, works so much better. See my review on it. AmazonBasics Nylon CD/DVD Binder Case (128 Disc Holder Storage Capacity)1DVD's hard to get in & Out, pages hard to turn when fullThe outside of the case is nice. However, the DVD sleeves are very hard to get the disks in and out. The pages are hard to turn. The more you fill it up the harder it is to move the pages and to close it. After zipping it closed you can feel the DVD's bulging out the zipper. I though the three ring binder would be sturdy. However after filling it up, it is obvious to me that it's just a matter of time before they rip. All of my DVD holders that I have are the kind where the plastic is connected to the base. I have never had any of the pages break. I will be returning this item and have ordered one like my other ones.1Case Logic KSW-208 Koskin 224 Capacity CD/DVD Prosleeve Wallet (Black) is the one I would recommend. This is the second case logic cd storage case I bought on Amazon. I bought another as I was thrilled with the first one and needed more space. Unfortunately, the 224 capacity was not available at that time. Wish I would have waited! This one is too flimsy. Case Logic KSW-208 Koskin 224 Capacity CD/DVD Prosleeve Wallet (Black) is the one I would recommend. 3Disappointed in Case LogicThe models of CaseLogic cd/dvd cases I purchased a few years ago were perfect, but the models were discontinued. In buying this new case I did not realize that a company's quality could go down so much. The fabric with the zipper is now stretchy (which as we all know doesn't last as long as the canvas type). Since stretchy material pulls when closing, a large gap is now created which will allow in a lot of dust as it sits on a shelf upright. At first I thought the design of the sleeves was ridiculous, having the openings in the opposite direction of carrying it by the handle (which would allow the discs to fall out of their sleeves), however the sleeves are so tight discs sliding out isn't an issue. Whether you are buying this to store your discs permanently or will be taking them in and out, know that the design of the plastic prevents you just sliding the disc out by putting your finger in the hole and moving the disc through the opening. You will need to pinch the disc (touching the content side) to complete its removal. You will therefore need to clean each disc before playing. 2 of the 4 sleeves are pressed on the corners so the shape of sleeve is no longer square. This snug fit is is fine for discs, but not for those who also store liner notes. Liner notes must be put in the outside sleeves.1Pockets too small to fit CDs and DVDs easilyThe pockets, which open sideways rather than at the top, are too small to insert and remove CDs easily. It's possible to insert the CD or DVD if you push very hard, but the force required is so great that the side of the CD or DVD digs uncomfortably into my fingertip and leaves an impression that remains for a minute or two.Removing the CD or DVD is even more inconvenient: you have to put your finger into the hole in the center of the CD or DVD, slide the CD or DVD about 2 inches until your finger reaches the end of the central part of the holder (it's not open as in most CD holders), and then push down hard on the part of the CD or DVD that is out of the holder to struggle to work it free.I tried several different pockets with different CDs and DVDs to make sure the problem wasn't limited to a particular pocket, CD, or DVD. Unfortunately, it wasn't. I also tried inserting a CD into a pocket several times to see if the pocket would become less snug, but it didn't. It appears that someone at the manufacturer got the dimensions slightly wrong.I don't have this problem with other Case Logic holders. I like the Case Logic 96-CD case best (it doesn't have a carrying handle but looks OK on a bookshelf) and will return the 208-CD case and buy two of the 96 capacity cases to replace it.1both of which are SIGNIFICANTLY better made. As with other reviews I have two earlier versions of this case, both of which are SIGNIFICANTLY better made. As with other reviews, I find that the side opening is annoying, not to mention potential hazardous to the CD's. The biggest problem, other than the super shoddy, cheap material is that the CD/DVDs DO NOT FIT- they stick out slightly. What kind of B.S. is this- this album has one job and it doesn't even do it decently. 1Not the 208 disc Case Logic binder I was looking for - my fault - got the bad kindI've been buying Case Logic for a while now. This was a 208 CD/DVD/BDR case like I'm used to, but I should have looked at the pictures better. While I like the Case Logic, and this is still better than some other brands, I hate these Case Logic ones. For one, the discs are very hard to get in and out. There's a little opening for you to grab the center hole and slide it out, but it doesn't go far enough and the disc is in there so tight, you end up reaching in and getting your fingers on the disc to get it out.And while some pockets are very tight, some either weren't or loosen over time. And where are the openings? Faced away from the handle. So, if you grab this thing by the handle, the disc are basically in a position where they can all fall out. In the Case Logic ones I like, the openings face the top of the case. The don't fall out unless you're holding them upside-down.Plus, it's a 3-ring binder. I have other Case Logic cases that have a mechanism with a couple of plastic strips holding the pages in. And a lever to lock the plastic in place to hold pages. 3 ring binders are so clumsy. Many times they stop lining up. So the rings don't line up and pages don't turn easily and/or start to come out. Even if they are lined up, the place where the rings join often catches the pages.Wish I would have looked more closely and gotten the other kind. But when I was searching for "Case Logic", I didn't see them. Amazon wanted to push it's own cases and cluttered the search results with their own brand. And I didn't search every page. I saw these were 208 and cheaper than I see them in stores and jumped. But they're cheaper for a reason.2Waste of time and moneyI have 7 Case Logic disk binders. The ones made a dozen years ago that came in different designs were fantastic units. It helps that Case Logic offers a Lifetime warranty. That you will need if you buy this unit.I should have read the reviews. They are correct: poor zipper, tiny sideways sleeves, this sleeve material, horrible 3 ring binderI am used to snug pockets with a new book, but when we cannot insert disk #8 on page 1, this baby is getting returned.Spend a couple bucks more buying the other 208 dusk unit with black sleeves.1
