    Great product for the price. I ordered this item to use with my Macbook Pro to connect a Samsung 4K Monitor.When the item arrived, i was pleasantly surprised by the packaging and build quality of the actual item.It worked flawlessly as it was advertised.I can say it is a quality product for a very reasonable price. 5No video; Dell Latitude 7350 laptop to Dell U2713HM monitor Tried this as an adapter with a regular DP to DP cable to make that a mini-DP to DP cable. I know the cable I already had works because I use it with another Dell laptop and a dock that has full-sized Display Ports. I already had a mini-DP to DP cable (also from Cable Matters) that also works with this Dell Latitude 7350 laptop and Dell U2713HM (2560 x 1440 @ 60 Hz) monitor, but it is a pain to get the cable connected and disconnected from the back of the monitor. I was hoping to use this adapter on the end it is easy to get to. It simply doesn't work. The Dell Latitude 7350 laptop recognizes that a second monitor was plugged in and shows it in the Display Settings window, but I could not find any settings that would actually display video. Went back to the old Cable Matters mini-DP to DP cable for today, but as usual, it was a pain to get disconnected when I wanted to switch back. Really disappointed as I've had other Cable Matters cables and adapters and haven't had an issue before. 1Hard to find in local electronic stores. I work in audio visual for a corporate company and needed to supply my techs with this specific dongle in their tool kit since it was the most commonly used connection in our conference rooms. 5Didn't work for my mac, seems to work on Windows. I have a 30" 2560 x 1600 monitor with DisplayPort out, and I was hoping this would be the device to plug that into my mac's thunderbolt port. I tried it on several macs, and it just won't work. Maybe it's the monitor, maybe it's not, I'm unsure. Did a load of troubleshooting, and at the end gave up. It does work for my Surface Pro, but doesn't seem to work on any of my macs. 3Use an iMac in Target Display Mode from a 2016 MacBook Pro! This is better than using an adapter that plugs right into the port with no cable at the end as it won't bend the port. I also reccoment this over a mini displayport to displayport cable as it allows you to easily switch cables based on your needs. 5It works well Initially, I had it plugged into a second DisplayPort on my monitor, which it turns out is DP out.Now that I've figured that out, my MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro can run the external monitor at 3840x1600. 5Has a strange comparability issue When using with specific combination of asus gl502vsk laptop to an asus pg27uq monitor I get no video signal on monitor. If I use dp to hdmi adapter in the middle it works fine but then run into the various hdmi limits or if using a different mini dp to dp cable it works fine but when using this adapter with that laptop and monitor I get no video on that monitor but I do on others. With this nice adapter I am able to easily use the same cable for my monitor. I have been using the product for two weeks and I haven't experienced any problems. 5Works like it should It works fine. Used to connect the Thunderbolt port on my iMac to an LG 38" monitor's DisplayPort. I usually stick with Apple connectors, but I couldn't find this one so I went aftermarket. No issues with it. 5
